Mack Wilson Claims Number One Jersey

Arizona Cardinals linebacker Mack Wilson is stepping up to claim the number one jersey for the upcoming 2026 season.

This comes right after quarterback Kyler Murray's release from the team earlier this month, and is quick signing with the Minnesota Vikings, where he's keeping the same number.

Wilson made the announcement himself in a video he posted to social media on Thursday.

He's entering the final year of his three-year contract with the Cardinals.

Last season in 2025, Wilson only played in eight games before a rib injury knocked him out.

Rookie Cody Simon stepped in and took his spot in the lineup.

Over his career, Wilson has switched numbers a few times.

He wore number 51 with the Cleveland Browns, number 30 with the New England Patriots, number 3 in 2023, and number 2.

When he first joined the Cardinals ahead of 2024,

now he'll be the 10th player in franchise history to wear number 1 and just the 5th since 2000.
