Mack Wilson Takes Kyler Murray's Jersey

On March 19th, here's the latest surrounding the NFL.

Just eight days after the Arizona Cardinals released quarterback Kyler Murray,

linebacker Mack Wilson has taken over the team's number one jersey.

Murray wore that number throughout his seven seasons in Arizona

as the number one overall pick from the 2019 draft.

Wilson shared the news in a social media video, marking the fifth different jersey

number he's worn in his career.

He spent three seasons with the Browns at number 51.

Then came number 30 in his first year with the Patriots.

Number three, the next season there.

And number two over his two years with the Cardinals.

So far, the switch became possible after the NFL loosen jersey rules in 2023,

letting linebackers pick single-digit numbers like this one.

Murray left Arizona ranking high in team passing stats,

including second in completions at 1,864, third in yards at.

19,498 and third in touchdowns at 115.

He never won a playoff game though, and he's now with the Vikings

without a listed jersey number yet.
