Hello everyone, Charles.
We'll see you. Welcome back to Inside Arsenal.
It is Tuesday.
I hope the day is going well.
Whether you're watching or listening to this around the world as well.
Thank you very much for joining me in slightly different.
Today I'm away at the moment, but did have a little bit of a spare time this morning.
So thought I'd pop on here.
Just have a little bit of a chat.
Not as long as usual.
Before I get a drag down the wild water rapids at center parks, but kids over the next few hours or so.
But thank you anyway for joining me.
Appreciate it.
As always, fair bit to discuss today.
Mainly sort of revolving around injury news.
We've got some fairly positive news to be fair.
I'm not in a way.
It's interesting stuff from Thomas too.
Come on deck from Ryzen, but kind of sack her as well.
So we'll discuss that kind of habits goal scoring night for him last night for Germany.
Only 45 minutes for Kai, which is good.
Rounded up a good international break for him.
As well as we talk about that.
Look at what's to come tonight.
Got a couple of comments and questions from you guys.
As always, but should we start with not in a way, Kay at shall we?
Who I have to admit.
You know, when you first see the injury happen, you see the way he goes off.
And then you see him limp away from him when we with his knee in a leg brace.
You immediately quite understandably fear the worst about what news is going to follow from Madaway K.
But the news that does follow is not actually as bad as we all probably presumed it was going to be.
He's still got a bit of an issue.
It is still going to probably keep him out for a game or so.
But if certainly the first thoughts that Arsenal have on it are correct,
then it's not going to be the worst of injuries and the longest of layoffs for None,
which is good.
And that's kind of backed up a little bit by what Thomas Tuchel said in his press conference yesterday.
He said the quote was the assessment we had with the picture.
The scan was slightly better than None was feeling.
He will be out for some days and he will be that's right.
But I think the Bournemouth game in the Premier League might belt well be the one that he's got his eye on at the moment.
And Arsenal might have an eye on so you'd imagine he's definitely going to sit out Southampton.
I think that's not, you know, I'd be stunned if he was involved in that.
I think sport in might come a little bit too soon for him, but maybe,
maybe Bournemouth, maybe the sport in second leg, he'll be targeting that as a potential return.
And given how he looked when he went off,
you've got to think that is a positive and Arsenal,
what None made away, K, especially will be very, very relieved that he will still have a big part to play in the running.
So that's good news positive news on None made away, K.
We'll turn our attentions out to Declam rise into the Chias sack of Thomas Tuchel.
I thought Thomas Tuchel spoke really, really well and I said this in my show yesterday.
I think all the reaction and it's,
it's typical online reaction, you know, it's total hyped up nonsense.
And, but again, the people who should probably know a little bit better in the sort of media
and at the wider media have been sort of feeding into it and feeding that narrative as well
of all these Arsenal players drop out like you see the big list of Arsenal players who have,
who have withdrawn from their national teams.
But some of those, you know, in that list, it includes,
it includes,
it includes,
is that,
it includes Yuri and Timber.
You know, these are players who might know to God,
it's players who missed a cup final before the international break.
So they're clearly injured.
They're not, there's no tricks and games with them.
You know, he capya has been sent home by his national team,
having been there.
The national team doctors have taken that decision.
Money Metaway K has limped away in a knee brace.
And, and so I think a lot of the chat,
a lot of the narrative has been so overblown.
And just because it's Arsenal everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon,
we've seen time and time again this season.
And this was,
and this has just been exactly similar.
And I thought Thomas Tuchel spoke about it very, very well in the press conference.
He tried to sort of shoot it dead straight away yesterday.
So this is what he had to say.
He said,
I still have 100% trust in the honesty of Bakai and Declan.
We did the medical tests.
I saw them.
I have no reason to believe that Declan is not honest with me.
I have no reason to believe,
but Bakai is not honest.
But given him out in Arsenal players,
I understand the look,
but they both came.
Declan was even out on the pitch.
She did not come and say,
guys, I'm going home.
I heard there were camps where players have done this
and not even shown up with boots and stuff.
Declan is a key player.
Bakai is a key player.
Why would I take this risk?
Of course, I want them in my team.
Of course, I want them to play.
But this is just not the moment to push it.
And I'm top of that.
I have 100% trust in both of them.
I'm not sure I want to give the nature of the injuries away.
I think Arsenal would not be happy.
But Declan feels a discomfort since quite a while.
He's been playing through it.
He's just on the edge.
It's the same with Bakai.
He played with pain through the carabal cup final.
And we could see that he had not the same impact that he wishes to have.
For his club against Manchester City.
You can see it.
And he confirmed it straight away.
He tried with treatment in the three days to get rid of it and be ready.
But it's just too much pain.
We will not rush players now.
You're a 70% through a friendly match.
I mean, it's just really, really good from two.
It's sensible.
It's truthful.
And it just shoots a lot of the narrative down.
A lot of people won't care.
They won't believe it.
They'll carry on talking about what they've been talking
when it comes to Arsenal players in this international break.
It is a little bit worrying to be fair.
As an Arsenal fan here,
we're talking like that.
These players are just nowhere near.
100%.
Now we know that.
We know everyone at this stage of season is playing through some sort of pain,
some sort of issue.
I think we can see.
At times with Declan and Bakai on the pitch of late that, you know,
they're not at the best and not the standards.
They've always.
You know, they like to carry.
Week in week out.
And that will be down to fatigue.
You'll be down to injuries.
And it is worrying here in two calls sort of talk like that.
Say, look, there is 70%.
You know, we've got some really important points.
It came to play.
It came to play.
It came to play.
It came to play.
You know, we've got some really important.
It came to play Arsenal over the next two months or so.
And you really want to your best players playing at 70% and playing through the
pain.
But unfortunately,
it's going to probably happen now.
And this is really sensible from two because why risk that when you got a player
who's clearly feeling something.
Who you know he's going to be going to the World Cup.
Who knows going to be starting in the World Cup first game.
Why would you risk it?
Especially when, as I said yesterday, they've got this.
Huge, huge period in their careers coming up.
At club level for Arsenal or two calls the top level club manager.
He knows what's to come for for Declan.
I see knows what's to come for a kind of sector.
And I just think this is sensible.
You know, othering the managers that have just played them.
And not really cared.
And I think I think two calls good really got up in my estimation.
Estimation is in the way he's talked about those two and the way he's handling
and coaching those two as well.
So that's what you have to say on Baccio and on.
Declan, this is what we've got to come tonight.
Obviously kind of have us played yesterday for Germany.
They'd be gone at two one.
Have it started.
Played the first 45 minutes.
He scored scored a penalty.
Nice penalty tucked it away.
Sent the keepers the wrong way.
And he's first gone about 14 months.
He's got for Germany now.
He's missed so many games for them with injury.
I think he's missed the last 10 internationals for Germany with injury.
So it's good for him.
It's been a good international break for.
For have us as much as we talk about players needing a rest.
You know, there's a couple.
And have us is one of them.
Ben White is probably other.
He'll benefit from minutes during this international break.
And have us have been managed well.
We got over just over 60 minutes in the first game.
He got 45 minutes yesterday.
Scored.
Come back to Arsenal.
Hopefully feeling pretty good and a little bit sharpened.
And we've seen of him.
Before the international break.
And then the international is all finished tonight.
Fingers crossed.
Everyone comes through on scaves.
He got some of the young England lads in.
In action.
Some acts down and playing for the under 19s.
Um.
Lewis Kelly and Tommy set for potentially involved against more.
Dover for the under 21s.
And he got the big, big games.
When it comes to the all on nothing.
World cup qualifiers.
Now when it takes all.
In these ones.
So you got Ricardo, kind of fury.
Uh, playing it for Italy against Bosnia.
You got Christian Norgar playing against Czech Republic.
Denmark and then Victor Yokarez up front against Jakub Kivio's.
Poland.
So it could have Yokarez versus Kivio Kivio.
Of course, still technically at the moment.
An Arsenal player until the end of.
The season.
So good luck to all of those guys.
So good video.
Kind of fury the other day.
It was actually this morning.
I saw it.
And some autograph.
And some of the time that was trying to get him signs from photos.
And one of them was a Premier League trophy.
And you refuse to sign it.
Because I know that I'm not signing that one.
We've not won it yet.
We've not won it yet.
I'm too superstitious.
It's a man after my own heart.
Ricardo Kivio.
Then obviously Ben White could be an action for England.
Today against Japan.
That's at Wembley.
And then you got a Christian mascara and David Raya.
I wouldn't be surprised to get some decent minutes.
Maybe Raya starts this game.
Friendly against Egypt.
Who nice thing on site.
The last game.
I wouldn't be surprised if maybe.
I wouldn't be surprised if they changed things up a little bit.
And Raya gets to start for that game.
Christian mascara.
Who got eight minutes on his senior debut.
A comment who was against just before the weekend.
Comment who's playing.
But he could well maybe maybe get to start.
Wait and see.
And then overnight we'll gather on our nelly over in USA.
Playing for Brazil against Croatia.
Fingers crossed.
Everyone comes home unscathed.
And Doug.

All right, let's talk about Ethan Rineri.
He's obviously away with the end under 21s at the moment.
Lee Carlsley was talking about his decision to go to Marseille.
Some interesting stuff I thought from Lee Carlsley on this one.
Yeah, I've always seen my thoughts on one area in the loan.
And I thought it was a risk of nothing.
I've seen since that in terms of the injuries, Arsenal suffered have stopped me believing it was a bit of an unnecessary risk for Arsenal to send away.
But undoubtedly it's better for his development.
No doubt about that.
But and Lee Carlsley said it's a brilliant decision to go away.
We've seen it in the past with different players and they've been had playing time abroad.
Germany and France now seem to be a really good learning environment for these players.
I'm thinking some of the players in the past, the straightaway come to my mind that thrives in those environments.
The more experiences we can give our players potentially, the more it's going to help the senior team.
I think first and foremost, you've got to remember Ethan's age and then add to that.
He comes with different country, different language.
The first time he's lived away from home.
And the last bit is the football.
So we have to be really patient with these that it's not easy.
No, I moved from Derby to Blackburn, which is 30 miles, whatever it is.
And it was difficult and I was 25.
And he's right, you know, for Ethan's development is fantastic.
He's so out of his comfort zone and something completely new.
He's gone to a huge club.
As soon as he's got there, it's turned into absolute chaos manager gone fans.
A protest in walking out of state.
You know, he must be like, what the hell is going on here?
I mean, for his development in terms of that sort of six month learning curve about, you know,
what football's about and how quickly things can change how volatile it can be.
I mean, he would have learned so much, so much.
Still would have preferred him to be here and be an option for Raquel while these players are injured.
Have to say, but certainly not questioning in terms of what the actual loan would have done for him.
Just on Christian mascara, who we talked about while he's away with Spain.
He's been talking about celebrity and Gabrielle was away.
I thought this was quite good.
From these two and sometimes I think this sort of shows the nature of Arsenal and the squad at the moment of hell together.
It is because you got to send it back some big young center back gets brought in.
Sometimes I'd look at that thing always is competition for my place here.
What was this guy going to do?
I'm not going to, I don't really want to help him completely different with celebrity and Gabrielle.
Well, Scarra said from day one, those two have been by my side.
Give me advice and always try to look after me like parents like older siblings.
I'm very grateful for them.
They are to the best center backs in the world.
It's a pleasure and a privilege to train and watch them play every weekend.
I'm very happy in London.
I've settled much quicker than I thought.
We all know the Premier League is very physically demanding.
I was already aware of that.
Many people told me it gave me my playing style.
That would be a good fit in the Premier League.
I think that when my time came to step up and prove myself, I did well.
And he certainly did.
He certainly did.
I'd love those comments about Gabrielle.
And so even we've seen it.
Even in capiates coming, we've seen a couple of clips of those two when they've not been playing.
And they've been on the touch line and after was when they've come off and they've done well.
We've had Gabrielle and Saliba waiting there to congratulate them.
And again, I actually think it says a lot about the squad that our Tetris built together this and how if we are to get over the line this season,
that sort of squad make up and that squad camaraderie that we've got is going to really, really help push us.
I think over these crucial, crucial weeks that are to come right.
I've got a couple of comments and questions now before I wrap this one up for today.
You've got one from son of god 8254 says top man Charles thanks for all you do.
No worries at all.
He said just a thought, how good would Marino be around now?
We really miss him.
Now we realize just how valuable he is, especially in tight games in the car.
I'll cut final yet.
No doubt about it.
Michael Marino has been a huge miss for us.
He's been a huge miss for the squad for Michaela Teta.
You know, he's one of our Texas go to guys.
He just gets it.
He can play in multiple positions.
He can bring a bit of calmness to the game as well.
When you need him, he's got quality who can play up front.
If you want to play up front is no doubt about it.
It's why he's one of the leaders.
He's in the leadership group.
Even though he's been here, you know, relatively short time as well.
He's really settled in well, such a clever player.
You know, I think it took us a while to understand and appreciate just what sort of a player Marino was.
He tried to, I don't know, find his place in the squad, find his place in the team.
That run up front in the last season in the end of last season really sort of built him, I think,
made him feel confident, made him feel like he belonged here.
He obviously built up a big rapport with the fans as well.
We started to get him and understanding more.
And this absence is no doubt, you know, he's been a huge loss.
Huge loss.
And we don't know if we'll come back and play any part of this season.
Hopefully he will.
Hopefully he'll get the last couple of weeks.
We'll have to wait and see.
But and he'll get to the world cup as well because he deserves out because he's been so, so good for Spain.
But yeah, you're right.
And he would have been massive or when bleeped in no doubt.
With the way that sort of second half drifted away from Arsenal,
you'd have been one of the first subs coming on.
I'm absolutely sure of that right.
We've gone from animal weight to eight now.
So hey, Charles, big fan.
And we met your book launch two years ago.
Thank you very much for coming.
So as an Arsenal fan, looking ahead, if we do in the Premier League and maybe even the double,
what's your take on how the upcoming World Cup chaos might leave our squad fatigue?
Are there any countries you're hoping to bow out early to help protect our key players
and do you think content is already factoring since summer recruitment plans?
I just think we've got to accept this summer's going to be one of those summers where recruitment is going to be delayed because of it.
No one's really going to be able to get their work done early.
You know, everyone wants to go into windows and get the job done early.
We talk about that each year, but it's going to be very, very hard.
So I think recruitment plans are going to be a little bit on hold.
Some clubs will try a couple of clubs might be able to pull it off mainly.
It's going to be a delayed summer when it comes to transfer recruitment.
I'm sure of that.
I tell you what animal 828 haven't really even allowed myself to think about the World Cup yet because of everything that is going on.
And it's not just Arsenal.
You know, everyone's going to be left fatigue by this.
I mean, you go back to, I mean, think of Chelsea, think of PSG.
I went all the way to the final where that ridiculously fake competition that FIFA launched last summer that is running players into the ground even more.
Now, they've had no break whatsoever.
They've gone into the Premier League season.
They're going to play that and they're going into the World Cup straight back into the Premier League season.
So, you know, Arsenal is certainly not going to be the worst hit of this lot.
But it's just, unfortunately, it just comes with a territory of so much football nowadays.
The club will give them as much rest as they possibly can in the summer.
No, we're not going away.
You know, far, we're not going back to the States or anything like that in the preseason.
The preseason has been filled with down to be very, very local.
You know, got the trip to Dublin coming up.
I think there might be a little bit of a trip to Europe somewhere, but it's not going to be far.
There's not going to be very much taxing travel that will be factored into it.
So, yeah, it's not going to be ideal.
No doubt about it.
But look, everyone's going to be in the same position.
All the top clubs anyway are going to be in the same position.
It's just something this summer.
Everyone is going to have to deal with.
And look, that is it from me today, everyone.
Thank you for watching.
Thank you for listening.
Appreciate it as always.
Not sure if I'll be back tomorrow.
I will try.
But if not, then I certainly try and be back on Thursday that.
Anyway, enjoy the remainder of the international break tonight.
Enjoy the games.
If you're going to be watching them.
Good luck.
If you're Swedish or you're Polish or Italian or Bosnia.
And anyone who's got the all on nothing games tonight.
Fingers crossed it goes well for you.
And yeah, hopefully I'll be back to do it all over again in the morning.
Take it easy, everyone.
Speak to you soon.
Bye-bye.
And Doug.
