It's a lot is recorded on Gadigal land.
We power respects to the traditional custodians of this land
and to elders past and present.
We also would love to extend our respect to all Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander people listening today
and remind you all that sovereignty was never seeded
and it always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
I've been waiting my whole life for this moment.
I know that the final thing now is the right time.
I'm ready.
That's recap.
Okay, this is where things get really good, maybe.
Episode 35 of maths.
The recaps.
This is the last week and we've just had the alternate matches lunch.
After lunch, Alissa and David reunite and David's like,
yeah, look, I backed out and I said I couldn't do this.
I didn't want to do it.
I felt really sick about it.
Unless it's like, we all had fun.
We had the best lunch babe.
Like it was so much fun.
Like I would never disrespect you.
I would never do anything to disrespect you.
My beautiful boring husband.
But beautiful boring husband too.
I'm talking shit about all lunch.
Gia and Scott then come back together.
Scott's the same thing.
He's like, I was shaking.
I felt sick.
Like he actually was like, like really sweet.
He's like, I had to live.
I couldn't do it.
And she's like, oh my god babe, thank you.
And like jumps on him and hugs him.
And it's like, you did the exact opposite.
Yeah.
Like you can't, like it's fine that she stayed and had a conversation.
I don't think it's like they had to leave.
But I'm also like, what do you mean?
Like, oh my god, yeah, you should have done that.
Yeah.
It's like, you got someone else's number and said that you'll be done in a week.
So she says to him, listen.
We did all stay.
But honestly, none of us did anything wrong.
Like my guy, honestly, he was so pushy.
And I kept telling him back off.
Like it was actually weird.
Like I had to tell him to like back off.
I actually like, it was quite like a lot for me.
And he's like, oh, well, you know, like, oh,
Scott's like, oh, like, I'm so proud of you.
Like for telling this guy to back off.
Doing like flashbacks in the show of her going,
I'll be done normally.
Cut the echo, you know?
Oh, yes.
Could the reverb.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And it's like, it's low saturation.
Like, it's like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's just, I'll be done.
And Scott believes it.
He's like, wow, I'm so glad that's done.
I'm glad we can now move on to final vows.
Everything's all good.
Except there is yet another task.
Oh, god, okay.
And what arrives to their doors is an envelope
and the iPad.
Well, and what they're doing is they're watching footage.
So Alissa and David, Alissa, when they get the task, she goes, I feel fine.
I feel fine.
Like, I think I didn't do anything wrong.
Like, honestly, just a reminder though,
David, she has just a reminder that like,
being kind to someone is just networking.
Okay, it's just networking.
I was just being kind to someone.
I was just being nice to someone.
That's all.
Okay.
So they watch each other's videos.
And Alissa is annoyed that he didn't do the task.
I guess because it confirms her idea that he's passive.
Right, yeah.
I get it.
But also like, he's not, it's not, that wasn't him being passive.
That wasn't being like, this is stupid.
Yeah.
It is stupid.
If they do that.
Then David watches Alissa's lunch.
And it starts off with her going,
is the grass greener?
She is.
And he's like,
upset about that.
It's like, strap in, buddy.
It's like, strap, strap the fucking.
So he watches the whole thing of her flirting.
And her, oh, there was another moment that I forgot to tell you about.
Where this guy says that he's got tattoos.
Or she asks if he's got tattoos.
And you're like, they're like having like, joking banter.
And she goes, where is it?
On your ass, show me.
Ha, show me.
Put on your pants.
Put on your pants.
Like, what?
So David sees that.
He sees Alissa saying that David can go for it.
We're about dating someone else.
He sees her saying, he can come for me.
I don't care.
He's not going to come for me.
He wants me.
He wants me.
He is devastated.
Like, he is like, what the actual fucking talking to a producer.
And he's like, I feel like a fucking idiot.
Like, I feel like a fucking idiot.
I know for sure this relationship is not going to work.
This is, this is, this is fucked.
This is like actually not what I want.
This is insane.
So he comes back in and he asks Alissa.
And I think this shows really how like regulated David is.
And I think that seeing this interaction
that I'm about to describe
shows that it's less than David is passive.
And it's more that he just calmly slowly talks things through.
Right.
Okay.
Because he doesn't start the conversation
with what the fuck was that?
Yeah.
He starts the conversation where he goes.
Just so we're clear before we have this conversation.
What did you think the task was?
What did you think it was?
And she's like, what was the task?
Um, to get feedback from the people that we were matched with.
Alternatively, and he goes, yep.
So did, did you know that the task was to find out
whether the grass was greener?
Because in the initial task envelope, it said,
it was all like, see if the grass is greener,
see if there was someone else for you out there.
It wasn't about feedback.
So he's setting her up to be like, he's like, just because
I want to make sure that you're aware of what the task was
about seeing if the grass was greener.
Using those words of what she cheesed.
And it was also to see if you had
compatibility with your other match.
Did you not see that part?
Did you not read that part?
I just want to ask if you understood what the task was.
And she's like, oh, yeah.
She's like, annoyed at him even asking the question.
So we see here that it actually is a Lissar,
in this example, refusing to engage in the actual conversation.
Yeah, interesting, interesting.
Because she's like, when we're just talking Bay,
like she doesn't answer his question.
Did you know the task was engaging?
Because if she says yes, he can go, okay,
so you gave him a lot, not only the task was,
if she says no, he can go where you did cheers
and go with the grass, it's greener.
And she's like, when we're just talking,
it was like, chitchat, like, we all had a great day.
I don't see what the issue is.
We had a really great day.
And he's like, listen, I've seen a really different side to you.
And I really don't, I don't like her.
You cheesed, is the grass greener.
And it wasn't networking.
You weren't there for friendship.
Yeah.
You weren't just being kind to someone.
You were, I would say like flirting with someone
and going into it excited to see if the grass was greener.
She says, oh yeah, it's like, I'm just like talking to people.
Like, she's like talking to people.
And he's like, yeah, but like, you made a joke about someone dropping their drops.
Like, you made a joke about someone showing them your eyes.
And she's like, she's laughing.
She was like, lighten up, lighten up, David, lighten up.
And he's like, no, I'm, I've told you my feelings.
You've been asking me all season to tell you my feelings.
And you've just said lighten up when I told you how I feel.
So what, what the fuck's going on with that?
Yeah, what are we doing here?
What are we doing?
Like, I'm trying to communicate.
You're not listening.
You're shutting me down and you're laughing in my face
when I'm trying.
After you've said all season, all you want to say to me,
take out I feel, I'm telling you how I feel.
Yeah.
This was fucked.
And you're laughing at me and saying, lighten up.
She's like, listen, I'm happy with how I behaved.
Like, I'm fine.
I don't think that I did anything wrong, honestly.
And it's like, the point isn't that you didn't do anything wrong.
It's that he's hurt.
Yeah.
There are some people that would see that as a joke, I guess.
I'm not one of them.
I wouldn't love if my relationship was insecure.
Yeah.
Adam going,
show me your pulse.
You've got to tell me when you're pussy, you know what I mean?
I'm like, and I'm sure if David did that, she wouldn't be happy.
Yeah.
And then David asks her, okay, let's just leave that at that.
Did you exchange socials?
And she's like, we didn't exchange details.
So he's asked, did you exchange socials?
And she says, no, we didn't exchange details.
And he's like, so he didn't add you in any social media.
And she goes, well, like, he sent me a friend request.
And I go, what is this Facebook?
I'm like, what do you mean friend request?
What's a friend request?
And then he's like, okay, so
did you follow each other?
And she goes, well, yeah, I followed him back.
So he did exchange socials.
Okay.
So the answer is yes.
So the answer is yes.
So you just lied and tried to skirt around the answer.
So actually, I would find the person that has a hard time
communicating elicit is you.
Yeah.
What we're seeing is that David is actually clearly
communicating how he feels, what he needs,
what he wants to me, the questions are very clear.
And you're the one that's skirting around things.
But it seems like all season, you've been saying that he
won't talk about things.
Maybe the opposite is true.
And you're just not seeing that he's actually doing a better job
because he's regulated.
I don't like.
Hmm.
Now she's pissed at him.
And she's like, you blindsided me on the couch.
You brought things up like, how am I supposed to react
when you blindsided me?
And he's like, I'm not having this.
I'm not having this conversation.
Like, I actually don't want to be.
He's like, I'm actually done.
You exchange social with someone.
I don't want to have this conversation at all.
This is not worth it for me.
And he's like, all I wanted to listen was for you to admit
that that was bad and to acknowledge
that that would have been hard for me to watch.
And that it is real that what I watched was shit.
Yeah.
I would have gotten over it.
But instead, you've laughed in my face.
And you won't recognize what has hurt me or why it's hurt me.
And then she goes, okay, we'll hurt people.
You hurt me when you blindsided me.
It's like, he didn't hurt you.
He, it's actually the opposite.
Your issue is that he isn't talking about things.
I get that it can be frustrating when someone
doesn't talk about things as openly as you would like.
Yeah.
But he's not hurt you.
You've hurt him.
Yes.
And also saying hurt people.
It's like, yeah, that's a saying.
That's sort of saying, excuse me,
behavior.
That's a saying for being like,
that person's a dick because they're hurt.
Let's leave them alone.
Right?
I'm not sure that really like applies here.
You know?
Yeah, I don't know.
Sorry, sorry, it's not funny.
It's so, so struck by that comment.
Yeah, really odd.
And she goes, your dung, he's walking out.
You guys undone.
You're done.
I'm done too.
Don't worry.
He walks out.
He takes his ring off and he puts it on the little bell boy.
Being the carries with the bags.
And he goes, I'm not going to final vows.
I'm done.
I'm done.
I'm done with our relationship.
She storms out of the bedroom,
of the room, comes into the hallways.
And she throws her ring on the floor.
And he's like, I'm done.
I'm done.
And he's taking her mic off and storming through the hallways.
And she storms out via fire exit.
Wow.
And that's all I have to do so far of them this episode.
So I think that could be the end of their relationship.
Okay.
I mean, it doesn't sound like they're going to come back to final vows.
I wonder if the producers can get them there.
Well, I hope they at least come to the dinner party.
Yeah, true.
Because that would be...
Because then how fucking weird would it be
for the other party's supports
that like all of a sudden they're just gone?
Yeah.
And now they're...
Because like Chris and Sam came back even to the dinner party
even though they were like, yeah, we're done.
Yeah.
I hope they come back.
But this seems a lot more.
This seems.
Yeah, and there was more there, I guess.
There was more emotional connection there
than with Chris and Sam.
Yeah.
Anyway, Rachel and Steven are next.
They're just being normal and nicer about each other
and they see each other being normal and nicer about each other.
They go on a date to Luna Park
and Steve gives her a vinyl.
Because at home stays,
he heard her say to his dad.
She wants to get into vinyl.
Okay.
Moving on.
No, don't dwell on that.
Stella and Philip, same thing moving on.
Gia and Scott.
Gia is leaving the experiment
and she's taking Scott with her.
She goes, we're done.
I'm done.
I'm out the night before,
so the night after they had that lunch.
Yeah.
And they have that issue.
She goes, I need to get out and Scott's like,
okay, I guess we're leaving.
And he's a bit like, okay,
well, she's told me that she will be with me
if we leave together now.
So I'm just going to leave with her now
because I want this to work.
But he goes, before we go,
I'm going to take a while on date
just to see if we can figure things out.
Because he isn't sure that he wants
to actually leave the experiment.
I think he has a safety net in the experiment.
That's true.
And he has a little bit going,
no Gia, you're wrong.
Where he's with alone with her.
He's like,
he looks like he's losing his mind.
Like, it's actually really,
he looks like beaten down by her.
So is she,
she's trying to pull them out
before they have to do the iPad thing?
Yes.
And I'm not sure if she knows that's coming out.
I maybe she got a text from, so I don't know.
But it seems to be.
Because it's a little bit sussed
the way that this is lining up to be like,
um, okay, let's go.
Bye.
Yeah, okay.
All right, we're going to get out of here.
And also being so, she's like,
either you leave with me
or we're done.
Those are the options.
So before that date, they go to,
I'm ready for a date.
And he in his boxy is like,
I want to stay where a couple
and I, and I really, really want to like figure it out.
Then it cuts to her running around the streets of Red Fern
in this green romper
and heals yelling at him.
And he's going,
please, Gia, let's just stay.
Let's just stay.
It's like, now, it'll leave with me or we're done.
I guess she's not yelling.
She's more like that.
And I know, you know,
high tone voice.
And she's like, what do you want?
What do you want?
Three more days of camera time?
Is that what you want?
You want more air time?
Is that what you want?
And it's like, I don't think he wants more air time.
I think he wants backup.
I think that's the case.
She's like, you never cared about me.
You never liked me.
Scott just leave me.
You don't actually care about me at all.
Like, if you don't leave with me right now,
you're going to give a fuck about me.
And he's on the streets also.
They're on the streets of Sydney.
They're up patrons,
like not like the public,
the general public are also in the area.
And it's so funny.
Seeing their faces.
Like normal people going, what the fuck?
And she looks like a cartoon.
Like, you know, like the weather she looks in the screen
romper and these heels full beat, aren't you?
No, no, no.
And there's like normal people on their way to work.
Like, you're just going, what the fuck is going on?
And she goes, I'm done with the experiment.
I'm done with the experiment.
And it's like, to be fair,
imagine seeing a random woman in heels.
It looks like, yeah, but I'm done with the experiment.
You know, what the fuck has happened to this woman?
Like, I've been like, she's getting held hostage by.
Alas, I would be like, do I go to the cops?
Like, a woman running and he's walking, he's going, come on.
She's going, I'm done with the experiment.
I'm done with the experiment.
I'm done, I'm done.
Anyway, so she's after yelling that she's done, I'm done.
And she gets in an Uber and she leaves.
Scott's like, I can't leave yet.
I need more clarity on where we stand.
Like, I can't commit to you yet.
I need to figure out what the fuck's going on with us.
He goes back into the place I was supposed to have a date.
Yeah. Again, head in hands.
Just like devastated and he's, she calls him and she's like,
Scott, come with me or we're done.
And then he's like, Gia, I, and she hangs up on him.
Oh, it's so mean.
He's at a bar alone and he's left without Gia.
And it's clear that insecurities,
ruin everything.
And if she's worked on herself, she could have had a really,
Scott is a really fur.
I'm going, man's put up with a lot.
Yeah.
Like, and they got along for a while.
It's like, yeah, it seemed like they got on.
Like, he was willing to get a bigger house for her.
Take care of her daughter.
Yeah.
You know, anyway,
Scott gets back to the apartment and her ring is there on the table.
And let me just save the reveal for what happens next
until after we've got a big and Danny.
Oh, my God.
So,
big and Danny,
back sees Danny's video and she's not super happy.
Like, he might live it up.
But there isn't anything really.
It's not the end of the world.
Yeah, whatever he didn't do anything for the egregious.
It's just a bit of a dick.
I mean, I'll get the ik from it.
You know, I wouldn't go, oh, he's awful.
He hasn't done the same thing from what it sounds like
in terms of what, say, Gior or Elissa have done
in terms of talking shit about their partner.
No, no, no, no, no.
Um, but Beck has, because I miss his big guy.
So Danny sees her do that.
Yeah.
And they reunite and Danny's like, you know,
the whole, I want someone who wants to fuck me
is such a vulgar thing for women to say.
I'm going to stop bringing up this woman.
They're like, oh, so you're dating with this vulgar?
Yeah, it's vulgar.
I don't know if it was vulgar.
It's like, yeah, like, yeah, things are vulgar
in appropriate situations.
But like, don't say for a woman.
Like, you know, Beck at this point.
Like, yes, come on.
I think he's looking for reasons to go.
And that's why Final Vows didn't work out
the way that you wanted them to.
So he also says, and I'm confused about this.
I don't know if I missed this or if this was like a back end story,
but this is about James G as alternate match.
I think Beck the number.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
So he's like, James gave you his number.
And she's like, yeah, I threw it away.
And he's like, well, I feel like you encouraged cheating.
And she's like, come on.
Like, she's like, come on.
Like, I threw it out.
He gave me the number so that he would think
that he was doing something.
And I threw it in the bin.
I wasn't helping her cheat.
I was letting this guy, like, ending the interaction,
essentially.
Yeah, and then he threw it in the bin.
And Beck ends up storming out.
She's like, I had issues with his video,
but I wanted to keep the peace.
Like, I intentionally suppressed things yet again,
because there were some things that were like a bit weird
by him talking about his match, you know, whatever.
But she's like, I'm not going to do this before final vows.
I'm not going to try and rock the boat.
So they're kind of on the rocks.
And that's kind of the end of that.
Stella and Philip then have a date, whatever.
Okay, so then we're back to Scott.
Scott's at the apartment.
And the iPad and note arrived.
Oh, my God.
Okay.
The producer, the producer going
licking their loops, wrapping their hands together.
Loving it.
Although I wish the deal was there to have the confrontation.
Yeah.
He sees everything.
He's all the lies that she told him about this guy being pushed
in her going, no, no, no, no, I'm in a relationship.
Because she said to Scott, when she came back,
she was like, I said to this guy, I'm on a girl.
He cheats.
I'm not doing that.
I'm not doing that.
Which he did not know.
He sees her saying she wants to be a trophy wife.
Her saying that if she wasn't with Scott, she'd date James.
Her saying that he'll be able to find her.
There's only a week left because she also goes,
oh, yeah, I'm everywhere.
Like if you look me up, I'm aft.
Just let up GMF.
She'll be able to find my social.
She'll be able to find me like, whoa, yeah.
Scott, it's actually, it made me cry.
He is like gutted is an understatement.
He is red crying going, this is fucking putrid.
This she is fucking putrid.
And like it is, it's fucking putrid.
He's like, I'm so disgusted.
He's so angry.
He's like shaking.
And he says, now it makes sense why she wanted to leave
because she was scared of me seeing that.
She knew that I would see that.
And I wonder if they knew that the task was happening though.
I don't know.
But maybe she was scared.
It's either that she thought someone would tell him
or she actually just wanted to try and be with James.
Yeah, I don't know, but like,
yeah, I wonder if she'd had a heads up from someone as you said
that like, oh, yeah, this iPad thing's happening.
Yeah.
But then she's already seemingly got one foot out the door anyway
because she's already said to James,
oh, we'll just come find me in a week.
A week is so fucking funny.
Yeah, so I don't, I can't figure out what a motivation is.
But so he's so upset.
He's like, this is J.R.
All season, I've been ignoring it.
I've been letting it go to the side.
This is J.R.
You can't hide who you are.
And this is who she is.
She's fucking putrid.
She's disgusting.
She's awful.
He's like, I was about to get us a house because also
they're a week out from leaving.
And she wanted him to get a whole new house
as soon as they were really future planning in a big way.
Yeah.
And she goes, I was about to get us a house.
I was about to pay for her to move up.
Yeah.
I was about to pay for her daughter to move up
and take care of her daughter like she was my own.
I was about to have our lives merged.
And he goes, thanks, J.R.
Thanks, J.R.
I'm done.
We're done.
Thank fucking God.
Wow.
I saw this.
She's fucked me over.
I've paid for everything.
And he says, I think this is true.
You'll never find someone like me ever in your life.
Good luck.
And I think that J.R.
I think J.R.
won't find someone that's
as patient as Scott.
Yeah.
Maybe she will.
Maybe.
But based on what her criteria is.
Probably not.
Probably not.
Like a guy with money that will take care of you financially,
that also won't be, it doesn't seem like Scott,
from what we've seen.
It doesn't seem like Scott's like controlling with his money
or a dick about his money.
No.
He seemed to just sort of say in that whole
silly dinner table conversation.
Which, it's like, do I agree with it?
No.
But he had put it out there that he was like,
oh, yeah, yeah, this is important to me.
I like to be a provider.
And I want to provide for J.R.
blah, blah, blah.
Yeah, which we don't agree with.
But like, it's misguided, well-intentioned, I think.
Yes, yes, true.
Rather than being like,
oh, I want to have all the money so that I can have control
and complete power over her.
And she's the one asking for it as well.
She'll please, please, please.
And then he starts like really breaking down.
He starts sobbing and he's like,
I just got fucked for three months.
For three months, I got played and used.
She used me for my money.
She used me for my life.
And she has fucked me up.
She has fucked me up.
And he's sobbing.
Bright red head in her.
Oh my god.
Like unable to breathe.
Like he's, which I think there's much more
that we didn't see that.
Yeah.
Obviously she's, she's done or she's used him for.
And the episode ends with him crying and saying,
this happens with everyone.
They use me, they, everyone uses me for my money
and for my kindness.
And the more money I make, the more used I get.
And it's a weakness of mine.
I'm so weak and I shouldn't have what this happened.
And I'm never, it's like a huge spiral of his.
Obviously he is like a really,
I think he's a kind of person that overcompensates
by being very generous.
Like, I don't think that he came for money either.
It isn't seen.
So I feel like he's earned good money.
And he's like, oh, I can help other people out
and like give them money.
And he's like, the more money I get, the more used I get.
People know that I'm too easy.
And I'm never, ever, ever letting this happen ever again.
Yikes.
And that's the end of the episode.
Holy moly.
So we've got one more dinner party
and the final vows.
So thoughts.
Well, I wanted to ask you like, because people
when it got revealed, like when the cast first got revealed,
Scott was one that people singled out to be like,
oh, well, he's been on these other shows.
Cause he was on like, holy moly or something and something else.
And people initially were like, oh, well, he's the one
who's coming on for fame.
But then now, like, Jeeer is the one who's saying,
oh, yeah, just look me up.
I'll be, you'll see me, GMFs.
See, I don't think that going on multiple shows means
you're looking for fame.
No, I think it just means you're going to know as well.
And then you're in the casting pool and they go, would you do this?
That's so true.
Cause it's like, you do one and then it's not, yeah,
it's not necessarily that he's applying for multiple shows.
It's probably that he's applied for one and then
the production company goes, oh, we've got your details.
Do you want to be on this?
Yeah, that's, that's what happened.
So I feel it.
And then he goes, yeah, may as well.
Why don't I do that?
Pretty good money, be it a fun.
Yeah.
So I think Jeeer.
But do you think, sorry, that wasn't going to be a
why question?
Do you think that he's actually,
because it doesn't seem to me that he's doing it for
not just for fame.
I don't think so.
I think Danny might be doing it for fame in the following.
I think Jeeer might be.
I think, I don't think Beck is, I think I think I think
Scott is, I think Scott may have been like, yeah,
I'm like, might also be able to do this.
I think all of them are like, also,
yeah, you're not going to ignore that it will raise your profile.
Yeah.
But I think that the real person who's looking for the fame
might be Jeeer.
Yeah.
And I think it's actually the way that Scott has been
destroyed in this season is so fucked up.
Like, I think you should go back and watch the end scene.
Yeah, okay.
We'll need to.
Because it's, it's actually like, I was crying.
It is so horrific.
God, that's awful.
Anyway.
So we've got into, we've got an interview with Beck that is.
Yes, that will come out soon.
Coming out soon.
And we're going to get it back for a second one.
And we're talking to Rachel.
And we're talking to a few other people.
So yeah, I hope you enjoyed the recap skies.
They're all most done.
Jesus Christ.
Good on us.
Bye bye.
Bye.
