And yes, the rumors that I was discussing from Fall camp. Oh, they were definitely true. You are Lockdown Seminals, your daily podcast on the Florida State Seminals. Number one, all the intel from Fall camp that I got suggested that things weren't all that great. And even Norvell had hinted at it in the middle of Fall camp. There was a lot of to clean up. We're going to get into that along with the offensive and defense of coordinator press conferences.

2:02They confirm it as well. It is a hodgepodge of problems later on in the show. But to start, we need to entertain it. It has been an exciting for all the wrong reasons around here. But I'm going to let the fans speak their mind today here on Lockdown Seminals. And it starts with the mailback. There have been some shows that I've had that have literally just on the YouTube page. Just on Lockdown Seminals YouTube that are over 300 comments. So I'm just going through a handful. It took some time to do it. We're going to have fun with that as well. The first one that I'm going to put up here that I'm going to discuss, if you will, is probably the best because it is a great way to eventually segue into the second part of the show talking about rumors. This comment is from Richard Parity.

3:04He comments consistently on Lockdown Seminals. And he's pretty blunt. He thought four wins was tops and he thought two wins was a possibility. That was before we even got to full games. So give credit. Obviously things are not trending in a good direction from the nobles. He was more down on FSU than I was. That's saying something because I picked four to stay to win four games. But the comment that he's, I'm going to put or discuss here in a moment, the comment is really, really blunt. And it's taken a shot. It's after the show I did about Ashton Daniels. And it's just spot on, man. This is as good as it gets. So the comment for Richard Parity goes as this, no, how can that be during fall camp? The team was looking great, making fun of Norval with some of his comments. What happened? LOL. I said back then that the SMU and Alabama games will kill the hype. I was somewhat wrong. The hype came to an end in the New Mexico state game.

4:05Props to Richard. He is as always going to be blunt. You may not like what he says, but he's going to share his feelings. And I think now, whether you like it or not, there's a lot of opportunity to jump on the bandwagon because the way four to state is looked in the first two games. But people are going to look at this differently. Some people would push back on his comments prior, not a lot. But now he can pretty much say whatever he's not going to get a push back. I mean, the four to state game against SMU kind of confirmed a lot of things. So there you go. Next comment from Ragnar 850. People never have another component passer as long as Norvell is here. They will all be at their peak and will plateau from day one as passes. Man. I mean, I don't think Norvell can develop a quarterback plateau of day one. That's rough, man. Casey Thompson says, do you think Charlie Weiss Jr. would be a good option to replace Norvell? I commented on the Norvell situation with that unlocked on someone's YouTube.

5:06Let me give you an expanded answer here on this show. Every coordinator offensive of defense of a doesn't matter. Two of the keys and pivotal. We don't know and it's because they're not head coaches. There's no way around this. These are check boxes. Hey, are you an elite? Not a good elite recruiter? That can't be a question mark. It has to be definitive. Number two. How is he going to go about hiring his staff? I bring this one up and this is what a more gray area. When Norvell was hired and just to use it as an example, there were some questions about his hires. Obviously, many did not work out. The bigger problems for the state's administration didn't try to help him enough, spend enough whatever. Then when he went to continue it, faster it and then it just went all downhill. The point is still the same. It doesn't matter if it's Charlie Weiss who I think is a really good play call or he's been around Kiffin, say what you want about Kiffin, but he was, he's a really good play caller.

6:08Charlie Weiss Jr. is also Charlie Weiss's son and he can call plays too when he's got a quarterback. I think he would do well offensively at Florida State. I do not, however, have any clue about the two things I mentioned again. We have no idea what he's going to do as the head coach when it comes to being recruiter and being, he's never got a head coach. How's he going to do obtaining his staff? Never guessing with that stuff because he can tell you some of the people that would come with him. He probably would be able to bring some and I wouldn't have any problem with that. However, it is always a risk with coordinators to say it. This next one is just a comedy show comment. I thought about putting it in or not, but this one's pretty funny. Willie Tagger, we miss you. That is what the fun is comments. He's one of the worst head coaches I've ever seen. Had a major P4 job. I would take Norvell over him, but it's, you know, that's just ingest. And I'm trying to have a little fun today. I thought that one was pretty good.

7:09There's no way Florida State's going to be as bad off as it were with Willie and then Mike. You could almost do grab bag with a head coach and be better than what they had with those two. Like, it would almost be impossible. Again, I would literally take Norvell over Tagger. Tagger couldn't do anything, right? At least Norvell can call plays to a certain degree, et cetera, when he's got the right kind of quarterback, but I don't think Tagger could really do anything at all. Next up, this is another one that I thought was pretty good. CSS 31 069. The sheer amount of four star players that have been a miss or insane, it's ridiculous. This is a very straight to the point and honest comment that just needs to be brought up over and over. It's why I say all the time, the next set coach, he has to be an elite recruiter. You got to bring in even more than they did because even George or again, whatever school, four and five star guys still miss. When they hit, it's usually really, really good.

8:10But Florida State hasn't brought in the volume that they needed. So when you miss on one, it's compounded. And he's right, it is ridiculous. They don't develop either. That was more the point here, but it's too strong. You're not getting enough of them. And even the ones you do get, the number of players that either transfer out or booted or whatever after one or two years has been insane. That's absolutely true. All right. Be anonymous 2530. Here's another really good one. I feel sorry for him talking about Norvell in this whole situation with Ashton. Basically, if you come to Florida State with the current staff, you're setting yourself up for failure. Now I'm sure Ashton didn't think that it was going to be this bad. And to be honest with you, how could he? But at the same time, you know what, there is some history here recently to say, maybe Ashton, you should have went somewhere else.

9:11But he's a kid from the Greater Atlanta area of Florida States of big deal. Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and he gave him a shot and they gave him some money. So I get it. But I wonder if Ashton now, since he's obviously regressed, would he go back and do it differently? Would he have chosen another path where he can get his master's degree somewhere, go about his life after playing well or be a part of this mess? I don't know what he would do. I don't know Ashton like that. But it's an approachable question from a different angle, depending on who you are. Ashton's a very positive guy. He'll try to bounce back and all that. But you can tell he's a deer and head white. He doesn't know what's going on with this offense and he's not being coached, not like he should be. So I really think that he may not say it publicly. But I would imagine that Ashton would have picked another school if he had any idea it was going to be like this, just my opinion. Any A says, I can't believe Sparry and Marshall are worse passers than Daniels.

10:12Pick one and play them. I wanted to bring this one up since we're on the topic of quarterbacks for the following reason. Quarterback is a very hard position and it's always difficult if you choose wrong early on because it's about reps. You need your number one at any level high school college or pro to get 95% of the reps conservatively because it just takes forever to gain a rapport with everyone. Remember, there are 10 other guys on the field. You basically have to know where everybody's at. Quarterback is totally different than any other position, not only in pig skin, but with any sport. Football is unique to that end. How much did Malachi and how much did Kevin get with the number ones, even in the summer when they let go do stuff? I have no idea, but something tells me that since Daniels played the way they did and the game plan was the way it was, that he got the vast majority of reps and the other guys went whatever they got.

11:13They're not confident that they know the playbook and have the comfort with the other players around the O-line included to really play them. That's problematic for four to state because let's be really, really honest here. Four to state is in a scenario where it's about to get really, really hard. Ashton can't handle SMU's defense. What is he going to do against even better defense? I mean, SMU's defense is mid. It's mid. They're okay, pass rush. Did they have a dude at linebacker? Safety's, DV's made some plays on the ball, but they weren't great. Four to state was able to run the ball on them despite having, let's say, a sub-par passing game. It's probably worse than that. SMU didn't stop it. What is he going to be able to do against Alabama whose front is legit and has it secondary? One could argue is the best in college football. It's certainly in the conversation. Now I get you don't want to throw the other guys into the mix and run their confidence.

12:14This is a catch 22, but not playing either one of them yet and there hasn't been any discussion of it. It scares me. That's why. If, and again, we don't have access to practice, we don't have any way to confirm this, but if you're not willing to play either Malachi Marshall or Kevin Spurry, at least a little bit over the next couple of games, this isn't a one year problem here, or this could be a problem passed. And I know the next coach could fix things. It's possible, but they might be getting such bad coaching that the next staff has to undo things. That is my concern. We'll see. When we come back, I want to dive into some of the comments in the overall thing from each of the press conferences from Tim Harris Jr. and Tony White, because give them credit, they were honest, but they also revealed things that have been discussed here across the internet and everywhere else. And it's not a good sign.

I couldn't stomach all, I'll be honest, but a handful of quotes in overall themes were brought to light. I said this last week, I'll say it again, as I'll just start with Tony White on defense. There's been more discussion about that, honestly, here lately than the offense. He's a pretty honest guy. Never met Tony, don't know him, seems like he's pretty honest to put it mildly. But some of the stuff that he talked about, and this is one of the things I often say, you need to go read it for yourself.

16:19Let your eyes physically look at the screen, go look up, whatever website you want to, Tony White press conference quotes, whatever. You need to physically read a bunch of them. I'm only going to talk about a little bit of what he said, and I'm only going to do this from a broad perspective because it's just hilarious. If you really want information, go on to one of the social media platforms like Instagram or X and see the videos from the stands, et cetera, how far they play off the ball. Tony tried to defend it. He tried to say they had like nine plays that he'd like to have back. Nine? That's all. I'm not going to dive into him very much because I've already said that he needs to be fired. I'm good with that. But his overall theme is their eyes have got to be better. They've got to have toes on the sticks, et cetera. Well, let me give Coach White and everybody also a little hand here. Most people know this because you go online. Fortest think fans are smart. Most of them think that comment, no football.

17:21This is ridiculous. It's one thing to have your toes on the sticks when you start, but that's not the point. It's not. Having your toes on the sticks, like, third down or fourth down, it's not what you have there. It's what you do after. They're backpedaling. Third and fourth down, over and over again, all game. You didn't press conference and I'm paraphrasing here. Again, I'm not going to read the quote. It's not worth my time to write them down. It's so bad. We should have been closing ground and we should have read it better. We should have broke on it better. We were too deep sometimes to start. This is your defense. It's year two. It's game two. You have veteran players. You couldn't fix that in the middle of the game because it just, it happened to get tired of the game. There are no more excuses. He has to be fired. Period. Tomorrow I'm going to do a podcast on the order of firings.

18:23Hint. He needs to be first. Even before Norval. And I'll explain why tomorrow. But to that end, there is no excuse at any level. On third or fourth down, I don't care if you're a man. I don't care if you're a zone. I don't care if you're playing half and half. You're running something complex. When it's a quote unquote, sticks scenario against, especially a quality quarterback, like a Kevin Jennings, there is never a time when nobody, and like, there are numerous. Go look at the film again. If you want photos and videos online, you get the clips. Just go to X. Just look at it. That you back up hurriedly, over and over again, throughout the game. Again, there are just tons of these videos. You can't, it's on film. There's no way around this. And then you come out to the press conference. And you, he didn't like throw the players under the bus. But he's saying, you know, technique in this and that, it's got to be better, blah, blah, blah.

19:24Well, that's true, but you're not adjusting during the game. Eweat coaches adjust in the moment. This was game two, because we saw it in game one. You couldn't do that against New Mexico State. New Mexico State, actually, this is insane to say, had a higher percentage on third down than SMU did. I believe SMU is eight to 14. New Mexico State 10 to 17. Somebody checked that, but whatever. Onto Tim Harris. I almost just threw my notepad when I read this. And I'm not mad at Tim, but it's true. So I appreciate that, that it's true. Just to preface this, but there's just no way around it. You have to take your shot at your quarterback here. There's just no way around this. And I quote, the quarterback, knowing where people are going to be,

20:30he was talking about in reference to third downs, situational football, we've got to be better for you to offer that. That's, I mean, Tim's a nice guy. I've got a chance to be around him a few times. He's a good guy. He's really knowledgeable about football. But how in the world, two things here, how in the world is that possible? If you guys were talking him up in full camp, this is why I always say in full camp, I'm always weary of press conferences. This is why, and I'm going to come back to this in the next seven. I'm going to rip him in a bunch of people took shots at me. This is what I was talking about. I was here in different things. A is again, number one here. How is that possible? And B, you still just run him out there. You don't have a backup plan. It is obvious for whatever reason that Ashendain was has no comfort with this

21:30offense. The body language is there. And so is the play calling. You don't want to throw it on first or second down. Despite having it at minimum. And it's going to be a high level when a draft picket receiver in do. So you'll go in the first three rounds somewhere. I'm worried he's losing draft stock because of who he's playing with. It's not fair to do. But he was compensated well to come back. He'll cash the checks. I'm sure this is unbelievable. So again, the quote from Coach Harris, the quarterback knowing where people are going to be, he was talking about that has to be better. At the quarterback, not sure about the receivers and it's over. And you guys were like, especially Norval, not Tim as much. But you guys defended Ashendain fall camp. Tim's a nice guy, considering a person that I would always want to gain knowledge from, but you all defended him in fall camp. To that end, that's where we're going to end locked on someone else today.

22:33I'm going to get a few things off my chest in regards to people taking shots at me. In the middle of fall camp, when I said there were going to be problems, I got a bunch of people online that wanted to gripe at me. 24:36In fall camp, I'd made reference. I don't remember what the name of the pod was, but I'd made reference to the obvious comments that Norbo made unsolicited. I think it was after the second screen went right before somewhere in the middle. He hinted that they had some problems. It was an alarm bell. And I didn't expect this to be a good team anyway because again, I've said since the spring, it'll be four wins, maybe five that they get lucky. I just didn't trust him. I didn't trust the roster, et cetera. I've been steadfast with that. However, again, go back and look, I don't remember what the name of the press conference, whatever was Mike offered that I did some digging and I said, things aren't looking that great. Heard some bad things about the offensive line, et cetera. I had a whole bunch of people on wine. Take shots at me. That's fine. You can do what you want. How you feel about that right now? Flat out. I'm calling people out.

25:37How you feel about that right now? Oh, you don't have any sources. Okay. How's the offensive line? What? I heard that there was some concerns with Asked and Daniel. How's he playing? I looked it up. He's, I think 160 first, if I remember, on PFF right now, quarterback, no ratings. Yeah. 140, 140 first. So he's, there are 138 teams. Individual one. There are backups that are ranked higher than him. I've said it before I'll say it again. Be careful what you hear in press conferences. But there are things you can learn from it. Then you have to do your own research. I knew Florida State was going to be bad, but when I heard that, that's when the digging began. And that's when I gained the knowledge that I did. And unfortunately, a lot of people, especially online, just idiotic fans mostly, there are a few exceptions to that. But nonetheless, they want to pile on because they don't want to hear it.

26:40You have to take the fan out of your thought process when you digest information. Even FSU has a lot of really good fans, has some idiots. And I am flat out taking shots at you. You want to come at me because of my intel? Feel free. Just remember, I don't spew things just because I tell it like it is. The intel is good. I'll let it be no minute. It's good. But if the intel is bad, I will not shy away from sharing that either. I was told things were not going so well in fall camp. And everybody got up and arms. Who's laughing now for the state sucks. Mike Norbell is going to get fired. And this program is flat out a dumpster fired. There's no way around that. With that being stated, everybody have a good day.
