Reporting from the Daily News, now, I'm Corey with the story with the latest in Canada.
A 20-year-old man from Edmonton now faces serious charges after an alleged assault on a woman in her southwest airdry home.
Police say he used both a knife and a firearm during the attack inside the residence.
The woman quickly called 9-I-1-1 to report the incident, prompting Airdry RCMP to respond right away.
As officers headed to the scene, the suspect bolted on foot toward 24th Street.
Thankfully, the victim came away unharmed and officials confirmed she knew the accused beforehand.
No one else was hurt in the ordeal.
En route, police spotted a man matching the suspect's description, made contact and arrested him without further issues.
He's charged with sexual assault, pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, and several drug and weapons offenses.
The accused is set to appear in court on March 26 as the investigation moves forward.
