March Madness Movie Pitch: Purdy's Rise Wins First Round

The host of Good Morning Football launched the March Madness style bracket challenge with

movie posters inspired by key moments from the 20, 25 NFL season.

They started in the Elite 8, pitting dramatic ideas against each other to find the ultimate

film pitch.

In the opening match-up, the one-seed face to eight-seed, one poster imagined Phillip Rivers

coming out of retirement to play for the Colts, in a drama called A River Runs Through It.

The other highlighted Brock Pertie's rise in Mr. Relevant, turning the last draft pick

into a star quarterback.

Panel members raved about both stories, but favored Pertie's journey.

They pointed out how he overcame being the final selection to start in the Superbowl, earn

a huge contract, and lead the 49ers with top talent, around him.

Rivers' tale lacked that fairy tale ending, they said.

All three hosts picked Pertie, delivering a shocking first round upset.

The eight-seed swept the top seed, which they compared to a rare NCAA tournament stunner

from decades ago.

Up next on the show, they planned to narrow it to the final four and crown a winner.

The big goal is pitching the top idea to Hollywood for a real movie.
