Hey everybody, welcome to the Mark Power & Podcast. You can follow me online by just typing
in Mark Power & Podcast, wherever you listen to podcasts, then I should pop up. I was
thinking about Marco Rubio, and I know everybody keeps on saying Marco Rubio is going to be
the next president of the United States. When I think about Marco Rubio, he almost reminds
me of someone who's probably going to be more like George W. Bush. And the reason why
I say that is because he seems like somebody who's going to be very pro-war as far as
going into the Middle East and getting our troops involved in wars and combat and all
this other stuff. And so I know that some of these folks on the Republican side are acting
like Marco Rubio is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I almost think he's going
to be another version of George W. Bush. And who knows, maybe I'm wrong, but he doesn't
seem like somebody that's anti-war. Like he seems like somebody who is going to basically
go to war whenever he can. And we don't need somebody like that. A lot of these Republicans
always start all these wars. And it's not just Republicans, it's Democrats too, but
it's far as some of these Republicans that claim that they're into freedom and all this
other stuff. And then they turn around and act like a typical Neocon. And I think that
is going to be basically Marco Rubio. And in my opinion, I don't think that he's going
to become president of the United States. Now, maybe he will if the Democrats get somebody
that's so left winged that they don't make sense to a lot of people like I think the
Democrats choosing somebody like Gavin Newsom, you know, as a candidate in the future is a
bad idea. So, you know, if you have someone like Gavin Newsom running against Marco Rubio
in the future, you know, Marco Rubio could win that. And I'm not a big Marco Rubio fan.
But, you know, the Democrats, even though they're seeing all these mistakes that are being
made right now with the Republicans, I don't think they need to sit up and get happy
because there's a lot of Democrats right now that people are very disappointed, you know,
with the Democrat party. And so the Democrats, even though the Trump administration is making
a lot of mistakes, Democrats can't sit back and say, oh, well, you know what, we're going
to have a Democrat president because, you know, it might not happen. And, you know, a lot
of times when people get very confident, then bad things happen. And so if you remember
when Trump was running against Hillary Clinton and everybody thought Hillary Clinton was
going to be the next president and you saw what happened. And so I think the next election
is what? In 2028. And so I would say that, in my opinion, the person who probably is
probably on the Republican side that I would look at as somebody who might be the next
president is maybe someone like JD Vance. And the reason why I'm saying that is because
whether you care for JD Vance or not, he's somebody that can debate. And Marco Rubio
is not a person that can debate. Like I've seen Marco Rubio get up on the debate stage
in the past. And he's not the best person that knows how to debate. JD Vance can debate.
JD Vance knows how to communicate much better than Marco Rubio. And so JD Vance is somebody
that if the Republicans are smart, they'll make him the candidate that's supposed to go
up against. So the nominee that's supposed to go up against whoever the Democrats put
forward in 2028. Like JD Vance is somebody that can explain his positions on certain things.
He's somebody that again, he's smart. Might not agree with him. But he knows how to handle
himself on an interview. Marco Rubio, you know, every time I think about Marco Rubio,
I think about that situation where Donald Trump got up on stage with the water bottle,
it was making fun of Marco Rubio taking sips of water, you know, in the past, I think the
video's still on YouTube. But if the Republicans want to actually do very well, and I think
what 2028 is the next presidential election, then they would have somebody like JD Vance
as the nominee. Marco Rubio, I mean, I don't know why folks like him so much. I mean, everybody's
like, Oh, Rubio is this and I've even on the PBD podcast act like Rubio is the greatest
thing since sliced bread. But the person who would be really tough to debate is JD Vance.
Like JD Vance is smart. He knows how to communicate and he can debate. So that's just my opinion
in the comment section. Let me know how you feel. And then also, you know, give this a like,
just let me know how you feel. Do you think that the Republicans need to focus on making JD Vance,
you know, the front runner in 2028? Let me know.
