MARGINS: Orlando Magic's Paolo Banchero lose 50/50 BATTLE to Detroit Pistons in Game 5 Thriller

The Orlando Magic missed their chance to close the series against the Detroit Pistons, fumbling the game away on missed free throws and missed opportunities on the margins. The Pistons got the Magic in the bonus early and had them on their back foot on the offensive glass through most of the game.

That left a tall uphill climb for the Magic. They nearly climbed it thanks to Paolo Banchero's masterful performance. He had 45 points and put in the kind of star-making performance the team should expect from its best player.

It still was not enough. But even the attempt showed the Magic have the momentum and ability to win the series and clinch things at home in Game 6. This is still the Magic's series to win.
