Max Crosby sat down and told his side of the story.

And he had some interesting things to say.

Thank you as well on today's show.
We're diving into.
Max Crosby.
Everyone's favorite topic here in Baltimore.
It is Max Crosby.
No, of course, everyone's ready to move on.
Crosby is a raider.
Trey Hendrickson's in Baltimore.
But Max Crosby, he sat down and told his side of the story on his situation.
It's just what happened between him and the Ravens.
So that's a huge storyline.
We're going to talk about it in the first couple segments of the show.
And then what I've been to David and Joke who visiting the Ravens.
Maybe by the time we listen to this, David and Joke might assign with the Ravens.
Who knows?
That'd be pretty cool.
But David and Joke who visited the Ravens.
On Tuesday, we'll talk a little bit about that as well here to do that with me.
It is for Baltimore.
Ravens, White receiver and Super Bowl champion.
Coddry is my L and kill.
Weak of fragency.
It is in the books.
Baltimore has certainly been a little more involved than usual.
This offseason for multiple different reasons.
But they're adding guys.
They're bringing employers.
They feel can help whether it be from a depth perspective or game changers on their units.
It's interesting because the very first wave of free agency.
They had been typically quiet for the Ravens.
You didn't hear them making big splashes.
The fan base.
It was.
Oh, my God.
So and so is available.
We should get them.
Why is it Eric doing this or he can even go back to Ozzy and.
Man, you know, the Ravens are just unusually quiet.
The draft.
The leading up to the draft.
The rumors of the different guides that they would want to bring in and train or work out or pro day local days.
All that would be kind of the buzz.
But really went here much as far as a big spending for age and I think this year because of obviously 18 years of John Harbour no longer.
And the way in which you looked at the team last year.
Your poor offense.
Align play.
Your lack of depth on the D line.
Matter B K goes down lack of a rush in.
And the poorest nature of the secondary what you saw was a team that.
Just didn't live up to what we.
Normally saw when it came to high level Raven football.
So something had to change.
I think that something had to change was the free agency.
Way of doing things.
Lots of moving pieces and parts.
When it comes to what the Ravens have done in this first.
Wave of rage.
See that we normally had seen before.
Yeah, it is a lot.
And I think for me.
You know, with the Crosby situation, it is something that we, you know, don't really have to talk about anymore.
But when there is stuff that comes up, it's really important.
So.
With Crosby.
That trade was one of the biggest trades.
In fact, it is the biggest trade that Ravens have ever made.
And one of the biggest trades in the NFL over the past handful of seasons trading to first round picks.
And then when it decides to the Ravens are like, all right, we're not doing this.
Then it becomes even bigger story.
So there are always little things and bits and pieces that come out that.
You know, we're going to talk about here on the show.
But this one's a big one because Max Crosby sat down on his podcast.
And he talked about it, his show, the rush.
And just got into everything.
He told his side of the story because again.
The Ravens have told their side of the story.
The Raiders put out their statement with their side of the story.
And Max Crosby have posted some things on social media, some cryptic stuff.
But this was like the full blown answer, the full blown story.
So I mean, he started off by saying how excited he was.
He was straighter to the Ravens that it was a really surreal feeling for him.
He didn't really know what to do after he got straight.
Because it's like, what do I do?
What do I do?
And the story that he ended up saying about just how he got to the Ravens as they called him and said,
hey, we're going to fight you out Monday.
He said, all right, cool.
You know, whatever time works for you was good for me.
They fly out there.
And the first thing that he kind of talked about was that apparently the Ravens ended up flying him to DC
because that was the only straight through flight.
And then Crosby said they had to drive two hours from DC to Baltimore after the five hour flight.
And he had some expletives and how he felt about that.
And he said, that stuff was very weak.
And you can kind of fill in the expletives as a family friendly show, right?
So you got to fill in the expletives where they are.
He said, two hours.
I'm like, this is crazy.
And so we were talking about it before like, I don't know.
Like sometimes it can take two hours to get from DC to Baltimore.
If there's very heavy, heavy, heavy traffic, but I'll know if you meant dollars or something along those lines.
But a lot of people on social media have said, what are you talking about DC to Baltimore?
Is that two hours?
Is it not?
So he gets to Baltimore and everything that he kind of talked about in this particular instance
was the fact that he ended up going drove to the facility.
I mean, obviously he got there stayed in the hotel and whatnot.
But the day of he went through did all his MRIs, et cetera, et cetera.
And he apparently was going to get taken up to see the head coach, you know, just before you leave.
And he's like, yeah, let's go.
So he goes and says, what's up to Jesse Minter?
He went up.
He dapped him up.
And he could tell the energy was a little bit off.
And Eric DeCosta apparently he didn't even meet for five hours throughout this whole situation.
He was standing in the room next to them apparently.
And it was the first time that he had seen him.
He has crossed me apparently was asking like, hey, can I see the head coach?
Can we chop it up?
You know, it was really excited about that.
See everybody meeting everybody.
And he said he was super excited.
And he again said the energy with Eric DeCosta was off as well.
He said, quote, I dapped him up and he had like a blank face.
And Crosby's like, OK, you know, maybe it's just different.
And so he goes into the room.
And he says, quote, they sit me down on the couch.
And he's like, man, I don't know how to say this.
But you know, one of our doctors has concerns with the results or whatever.
And like with your knee, some of them have are concerned about the future.
And you know, we really want you.
And this is what it is.
But you know, we're just going to have to get more and more opinion.
So they didn't actually make the decision right there with Crosby apparently.
Like they said, we're just going to have to get more opinions on the situation.
And Crosby apparently was just terrified because he's like Neil Ella Trash,
who he called the best surgeon in the country.
And he did, he's done all the surgeries for Crosby.
And so he said that he hasn't gotten a talk to him or the agent.
And he said, is there something wrong?
Like he said, he's freaking out because he's like, I can't get another surgery.
It's messed up.
He's like, what's going on?
So he ended up talking to Neil Ella Trash.
And he essentially assured Crosby, hey, like, it's all right.
You know, all this stuff.
He said, Max, don't listen to any of that stuff.
Your knee is great.
You're exactly where you're supposed to be.
You're even ahead of schedule.
You're doing everything right.
They know you had surgery nine weeks ago.
So let's stop there and just kind of cue with your expertise in.
Kind of the sports performance sports movement with the meniscus.
And we've talked about this a little bit.
You know, how bad can it be?
Like it's especially with Crosby playing on it apparently for as long as he did.
Having a mystifying a couple weeks of the season.
Being nine weeks out from surgery.
I think he would what just got off the crutches and whatnot.
For a minister's situation.
You know, especially for a guy who is 29 years old or, you know, going to be 29 years old.
Is this a situation where if it doesn't heal properly?
Or just having an injury like this.
Can it impact you long term?
Because the Ravens, they apparently found something they didn't like in this whole situation.
And, you know, you're hearing from Crosby that like.
Neil Latrache said, hey, you're right where you're supposed to be.
You're ahead of schedule.
We're doing everything right.
So I guess.
Is there a disconnect here from the Ravens and Crosby's team?
Or, you know, the Ravens just kind of sticking to what they believe here in terms of.
What they thought Crosby could do for them in the future.
So I think here is where the disconnect comes in because.
What obviously the doctor was saying and what Max Crosby felt was going on.
And then what the doctors from the Ravens were saying.
There was.
The idea of can I play?
Yes, you can play.
Is there going to be any future damage?
Technically, that's where you have a divine road.
For Max, he's like, man, you know, give me some good news.
You feel I can still play good.
I'm good.
Whereas what is the long term effect of.
Can you still play look like?
I think that's what the Ravens were saying to themselves.
And from their team doctors.
Sure, maybe this season, it might be good.
But when it comes to long term.
You might be looking at, yeah, no, it's not going to happen.
And the investment that they made for the long term to first round picks were steep.
So are you putting yourself in this position where.
Yeah, you know, this season, 2026, we're going to have you.
Boy, you're going to come in.
You'll be great.
You know, I don't know.
Eight, nine, 15 sacks somewhere in between there.
Boom, you make a great run.
So that's for Jesse Mentor.
That's for the fan base.
That's for, you know, the individual players.
However, it goes to help.
Particularly, even if you say if you even want to love bark.
Oh, my God.
Job accomplished.
Wow, awesomeness.
All that.
When the season is concluded.
Eric and his guys, they got to go down to the senior bowl.
They got to like start the process of building up the team again.
And they got to make sure that all the doctor in the row, who's going to sign, who's not going to sign.
What does the seller cap look like?
What's all the different things?
And they're assuming that Max will be great.
Well, if there's just a cheek in the armor.
Then there's a reason to be concerned.
And so why deal with that if you're Eric Costa.
And Eric and his.
Guys, probably are feeling like we don't want to deal with that.
And so.
A decision had to be made business decision.
Short term.
Short.
Long term.
First round.
Yeah.
Too first round.
Oh, no.
No, no, no.
Because now that cuts into what he sees as the vision of everything.
He can't stop the run.
Kind of like Max.
But what he can do is get out to the quarterback and we know he can finish.
So there's some strong similarities.
We can buffer up.
Maybe via the draft, those two first rounders, plus whoever might be a free agency.
We're not handcuffed to a guy that might have question marks later.
I think that is what Eric.
Kind of got cold.
And he probably had to pull in Jesse.
I'd be like, look, I don't want you to be exposed to.
You know, making this guy feel comfortable with your scheme or technique or whatever.
And however.
Let's play this one close to the vest.
They did.
And.
Two hours later.
You know, I say two hours, but however, it took him to get to.
Whatever private.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Two hours later.
You know, I say two hours, but.
However, it took him to get to.
Whatever private.
Jet airport that he was able to fly out of compared to when he came in.
Looks like he probably flew in the delus.
Looks like it was.
Some morning rush out traffic that had him kind of a little overclimbed.
And yeah.
There it is.
So.
However, whatever.
Unfortunately, he's not a raven.
Fortunately, he's not a raven.
So you see how it did that there on one hand.
Yeah, it is unfortunate because it would have been great.
On the other hand, okay, well, you know, long term wise as far as you need.
And all that there was some uncertainty.
Now, from the Eric aspect of things, whether or not he would have got both him and.
At the same time.
I don't know.
That one to me is kind of interesting.
what to me is kind of interesting because you're dealing with Salary,
Captain Dilloweth, you know, salaries of, you know,
mass proportioned, plus you're dealing with Lamar, Salary and obviously you
have the restructure.
So a lot of nuance there that I'm like, hmm, what does this all look like?
Yeah, it's great.
One of the biggest controversies in this is is where to max
cross be fly into.
One of the traffic like that's one of the biggest controversy to come out of
this of this, I guess, storytelling time from max cross be is two hours from
DC to Baltimore.
Is that really, or is it dullest or where is it flying in from?
Or what it was he driving someone someone responded to me when I put that
out on social media said, well, he's driving a forklift like it was all this
like all this stuff about that.
But crossby did mention the fact that, you know, for him,
Q, we know what's not just the meniscus cross be has had a bunch of
many injuries slash surgeries in his career.
He mentioned that, you know, he had a laborum done the knee, the ankle,
the hand stuff.
And so they're doing all the scans and whatnot.
He said they took forever a really long time.
And, you know, that was just kind of the process.
And then I guess, yeah, crossby kind of feel the energy was off right when
they called him up.
And that was kind of the situation as it stood in the building coming,
coming up in the second part of the show.
We'll be diving into how it ended up for crossby and what he had to say on
that situation as well as just like where the Ravens now go after pivoting
from crossby to Hendrix and what else they need to do at the position.
So stay tuned, putting it coming up on the show.
First, the show was brought to you by Fandall.

Now, Q, Crosby ended up saying, you know, he said, quote, you know,
this is the thing, bro, like everyone's got their own theory,
conspiracy theory, no one really will ever admit on either side what the real
truth is or whatever.
And ultimately, it doesn't even matter.
I am where I'm supposed to be.
I know that.
I'll just say that.
And so true, and I've been saying that it's like no one's ever going to like
fully under kind of unearth the real thing that happened here.
Which is why I just think it's best for everybody to just like, I think
this can be the closing point, right?
Crosby telling us out of the story and everybody can move on.
Unfortunately, I don't believe that that is actually what's going to happen.
And we will get through, you know, this next handful of months without
it. And then once training can't pick back up or off season workouts,
I'm sure we'll get back in it as well.
He said, quote, I've gone through some stuff in my life.
I can't lie, but that whole situation was probably one of the most unique,
crazy wild up and down roller coasters I've ever been a part of.
He also talked about the situation with Neil Elitrash, who apparently
said that he was showing him the like actual literal, like literature of it
and said, this is where the knees supposed to be at from a meniscus repair.
The MRIs could be misleading because it's still fresh in the surgery.
And this and that he's like, listen, again, that's the thing I said,
like, listen to everything right, everything's going well.
What what's your thoughts on that key with the MRIs?
Can they be misleading so fresh from surgery, especially with a
procedure like this where I think the the timeline for Crosby is by training
camp if I'm not mistaken, if I'm remembering that correctly.
But you know, with Crosby essentially getting walked through it by his surgeon
and him saying the MRIs could be misleading because it's still fresh in surgery
and all this different stuff.
Is that something that maybe could have impact now the Ravens viewed it?
Or, you know, is that something that really wasn't a concern for you?
So again, with the MRI, sure that surgery element could still have some
readings in there that looked different than if it was a fuller or a
further along healed knee.
But then also you could look at what the prior surgeries that he had and
what that also looks like.
I think the one thing from a cartilage aspect is where that covering
on top of the knee cap or where the femoral head and the
tibial head, they kind of sit in that bowl and obviously at the padding of the
meniscus, you know, that's where, you know, is it where in tear?
How much of it is worn down?
You know, what does it look like when he kind of goes along?
They've seen tons of knees before.
So there's a lot of comparing and contrasting and yeah, you're going to get
different, you know, thoughts and feelings, just depending upon what you as a
doctor or surgeon, you know, what you feel is an orthopedic, you know, like
what's your mindset, what's your philosophy, what you've experienced in your
practice?
And so that's where I think we're having these differences of opinion.
And that's just what it is.
Like I wouldn't necessarily say one, you know, is right over the other.
I just think that yeah, in Max's case, I would tend to be glass half full.
Well, the Ravens and their doctors were a glass half empty.
And so that's the frustration that he's feeling and rightly so.
Yeah, it's such a messy situation.
Like it truly is from all angles of it.
But again, if the Ravens truly thought, hey, we have this concern here.
Like you said, with the first round picks, knowing what you are giving up for
a guy, I'm sure that had something like if it was Crosby for a third and a
fourth, they might have pushed it through like, okay, we can make this work.
We have the money.
Maybe we can go out there and get Hendrix in as well, like all that stuff.
But again, the Ravens, yes, have never traded away a first round pick for
a guy, let alone two of them.
And I think that had something to do with it.
So if you think you're only going to get like a good year out of Crosby and
then something in the medical pops up and the MRIs pop up that says, is this
viable long term, all of a sudden, you probably do get some level of cold feet.
So again, there's so much controversy on both sides with it.
Now, when Crosby, so after DeCosta and everybody were like, hey, we have concerns.
We're going to get some opinions, apparently Crosby went back to the hotel.
He was talking to his agents and you know, his mind was obviously
billion places at that point.
He said his agents told him that they think that Baltimore was going to back
out of the deal.
But then a member from the Ravens called Crosby and said that they were going
to get the deal done, told him not to worry, etc, etc.
And then literally Crosby says five minutes later, he received a call from his
agent and said Baltimore did back out of the deal.
So that's messy in itself and top of an entire messy situation.
And you know, with everything, I mean, and again, like you can imagine Crosby's
emotions in that moment.
He said he was livid and confused.
Said he wanted to get out of it because apparently he had a reservation.
He wanted to get food, but then the Ravens said, hey, we'll fly out.
And he said, all right, I'm going to start packing then.
I want to get out of here, went back, had conversations with the Raiders.
And you know, he said like he's a Raider.
He's made that clear.
He's fired up about the additions that they've made, including Tyra Linderbaum,
who now it's funny.
Those two will be teammates instead of playing against each other.
But it's a situation where the Ravens get Tray Hendrix and they pivoted well,
but this is always going to be like the Ravens will forever be linked to Crosby.
Crosby will forever link to the Ravens to 14th pick the Ravens take.
It's going to be linked to Crosby in some way, shape or form.
Like the storylines while they should die down because the situation's over.
This was such a big deal that it's going to pop up here and there,
but just here in Crosby's side of it, Q, does that change any of your thought
process of what actually went down and what happened again?
We don't know the entire situation.
We probably never will, but hearing what Crosby had to say and talking about it,
going through his day and his experience, I mean,
does that do anything for you in terms of what you think of the situation in general?
It did in that I think for a player, you know, transparency matters.
I think at the same time teams, they still have a slight disconnect
when it comes to that said transparency.
The reason why is because you're just a commodity to them and, you know,
they try to make it human.
They try to, you know, at least give the perception of it all, but not really.
They know that what you are is just a commodity to them.
Now if you help them win, yeah, you know, what have you done for me lately?
You helped me win.
You helped me keep my job.
You helped me make more money.
You help other free agents come in.
You bolstered up the bottom line of the team.
Therefore, you see a guy like Lamar Jackson, who has pretty much, you know,
caught long over everything because I can do what I want to do.
That's because of all the things I'm giving you.
The minute I stop being valuable to you is the minute all those perks
that I had no longer matter.
And it's like, well, good seeing you.
Appreciate you.
You know, hey, you know what, when you go to the ring of honor, we'll talk about it.
When you, you know, get that induction into all, man, we're going to have one
hell of a celebration.
But appreciate it, bro.
Hey, maybe you can come back and, you know, come out of the tunnel and you're,
you know, Raven's legend of the game or you're going to do some, you know,
promotional stuff for us.
Man, that's going to be awesome.
It's not going to be fun, you know, and then, you know, you like, all right,
that's great.
But outside of that, I mean, it's just, it's just business.
It's just way it gets done.
And I think those that know that it's just business and those that don't take
a personal, cool.
But then there are just those organizations that are family-friendly show
words, mother of pro, they're just not good.
They're just, you know, they, they really treat you like lower than.
And that lower than mentality is the reason why those organizations
ultimately don't win because the people that they're hiring, they're just selfish,
very much thinking that they're better than everybody else.
And it's all about them type of a mindset.
So, yeah, I think that's where, you know, the Ravens and Max,
the lore of it all will be, you know, if Eric is going to write some memoirs, book, good.
So there's the business side of everything.
And here's to Trey Hendrickson from a Ravens perspective.
Here is to the clandestine nature of Max and Eric Costa.
Yeah, look, I don't, I don't blame Max for being upset at the situation.
I mean, the Ravens essentially told him like, we don't believe you can play at a high level for,
you know, however many years in the future.
Crossby may be in visions playing.
And, you know, like, again, like, I'm sure being told that is upsetting and, you know,
all that situation, especially coming off of a surgery and, you know, being terrified about,
like, I just had surgery, I'm doing this rehab.
Like, is my knee worse along than I thought?
But obviously got calmed down by the surgeon.
But I'm glad Max at least got to share his side of the story.
I'm also just ready to put everything behind me at this point, even though I know that's not
what's actually going to happen.
Because again, when there are storylines like this and things like this happen,
we're going to talk about it because it's a big deal.
But there are a lot of opinions out there right now about the Ravens organization,
about the Raiders organization, about crossby himself.
It's just a big controversial soup right now in terms of what's going on.
So it's unfortunate what happened.
I'm really bummed about it still.
Crossby, I think, would have made an awesome Raven.
But it wasn't meant to be.
And, you know, crossby kind of talked about that.
He said that, you know, when he was at the hotel, I believe on Monday,
before everything happened on Tuesday,
he was seeing, like, everything he turned on was Raiders Raiders Raiders Raiders.
They sounded like these guys Raiders Raiders.
And so he's like, hey, everything, it is what it is.
I'm a Raider.
And yeah, that's kind of the situation right now on that.
Well, coming up, we'll dive into big name tight end,
visiting the Ravens.
We talked about it last yesterday evening.
But I'll tell you what, I'm still super pumped about the possibility of it.
And if it happens, well, I'm going to be even more pumped about it.
So stay tuned, funny coming up on the show.
Oh, could this vintage store be any cuter?
Right.
And the best part, they accept discover.
Accept discover in a little place like this.
I don't think so, Jennifer.
Oh, yeah, huh.
Discover's accepted where I like to shop.
Come on, baby.
Get with the times.
Right.
So we shouldn't get the parachute pants.
These are making a comeback.
I think discover is accepted at 99% of places that take credit cards nationwide.

Black Thumb Ravens Kevin Allstracker.
Casriest Miles still here with you on the show.
Again, thanks so much for being here.
And making Dr. Ravens a part of your day.
And you're first listen each and every single day.
Queue who cross me interview situation.
That got a lot of attention.
But there was another piece of Ravens news.
There are actually a couple pieces of Ravens news yesterday.
The Ravens signed Danny Pinter Colt Center,
who will give the Ravens some extra offensive lines up there.
Extra line depth.
That's for the Ravens.
That's always good, you know?
But to me, big story line is David and Joku,
who we've mentioned.
We've talked about on the squad show.
He visited the Ravens according to Adam Schaefter
on Tuesday night.
Again, maybe by the time people are watching
or listening to this, he is maybe sign a Baltimore.
Who knows?
But time we're recording this.
It's just a visit right now.
And Joku makes a lot of sense in my opinion.
Queue for Baltimore, especially knowing that they lost
Isaiah likely and Charlie Kohler.
We know in Joku is a big body player.
64246.
Is that with injuries over the last couple of seasons?
But I think could slide in pretty seamlessly
as Isaiah likely replacement.
You already have Durham's.
Mike, this kind of your Charlie Kohler guy.
And if you're going to keep four tight ends,
if you sign in Joku and you have Andrews and Joku,
Smith and a rookie tight end,
I feel pretty confident in that room.
I mean, how exciting is the possibility
of the Ravens signing David and Joku to you?
I really like David and Joku when he was in his proverbial prime,
meaning his run after catch was just phenomenal.
Is that leticism, strong physical run routes,
all those different things, make the contest to catch?
Where he's at now compared to where he was at then
is what I am a little bit cautious about.
I know David and Joku is probably
hitching to get with Lamar, get with Mark Andrews,
be a tag team duo at the tight end position.
You'll have to figure out Declan's offense,
which I don't think is going to be like,
oh my god, just going to be so hard.
However, yeah, there's a learning curve there.
The player that he's replacing in Isaiah likely,
the other player that he's replacing in Charlie Kohler.
I mean, those are some young dudes that are ascending
into their prime.
So mindset-wise, I just think that, yeah, okay, cool.
But those dudes, they're going to be surely missed just
because of their youth and just because of the fact that
what they know about being a Raven and all that.
The three wide or the three wide,
the three tight end package, if both Mark and him
and Durham can stay healthy,
I think that it'll be a good, strong group, strong,
and I think a potent group.
But the word health is what really in my mind
comes to play when it looks at Mark, him, and Durham.
Yeah, I mentioned this unlocked on Raven's PM too,
and I was talking about it.
Spoiltrac has him right now at a two-year,
it's $20 million projection right around,
like very much like $10 million per year.
We know the Raven still have some salary cap room
to get guys in the building.
And Joe, who would be a guy that, like, I'm not sure,
if you would get $10 million per season,
but if he did, is that a number you're comfortable with
for him being a secondary playmaker or someone
that can kind of slide in next to Mark Andrews,
despite some of the health situations
that he's had to deal with?
Would you be okay with the Raven's giving him
a two-year, $20 million deal?
Yeah, because that kind of is what the market is.
You're going to bear.
Clearly, you lost Tyler Lunderbaum,
and you lost a lot of your other free agent,
so you got money to spend,
and you want to show that this is a guy
that is of high value, and we're going to use him.
So, yeah, that doesn't scare me off at all.
Yeah, I'd be totally okay with this.
This is someone that I've been targeting for the Raven's,
you know, in the event that Isaiah likely did leave,
which, of course, he did,
and feels like a really nice option for you,
especially because, you know,
I think this tight end class is really deep,
but if you're taking two rookies,
Isaiah likely isn't this Isaiah likely
in his rookie season, or he wasn't,
you know, same thing with Charlie Kohler.
Charlie Kohler wasn't this version
of Charlie Kohler as rookie season.
Now, both guys can make impacts, scatter, et cetera,
if they are drafted, whatever rookies they bring in,
but I just feel more comfortable
with another receiving threat.
And I think Daniel and Doyle could do a lot of cool things
with David and Joe Kutuk,
considering his versatility and what he brings to the table.
I think he fits the Raven's timeline as well,
so I am really excited for this situation,
but it's all I have here today on Lockdown Ravens.
Thank you so much for doing it in the show.
