McShay Mock: Browns Target WR or Tackle in Draft

On March 24th, former ESPN analyst Todd McShay released his third mock draft for the

2026 NFL draft and he's got the Cleveland Browns, targeting a Y receiver early.

Mod drafts show a clear pattern for the Browns at the number 6 overall pick,

splitting between wide-out carnell Tate or Tackleman Roof Reeling.

McShay sticks with Tate as their first choice. Experts note the Tackle class runs deeper this

year than wide receivers, so a smart Browns plan might grab a blocker first, then add speed later.

Still, McShay's projection hints at flexibility, especially of top Tackle slide.

Fans and analysts buzz about a potential trade-up opportunity. McShay sees

Freeling, the draft's best tackle, falling to number 17 with the Detroit Lions.

That could prompt Cleveland to deal with the New York Jets, swapping first rounders

plus a third rounder to jump to number 16 ahead of Detroit.

In his no-trade version though, the Browns wait and snag wide receiver Caleb Lomu at number 24.
