Welcome to Alive and Free Origins, the podcast where we continue to discuss common misconceptions,
practices, and sometimes even outright lies that make things like anxiety, depression,
trauma, and addictions of all kinds extremely hard if not impossible to get rid of.
We'll keep sharing what has worked in thousands of cases to change that and make freedom a reality,
only now we'll be going even deeper. Also bringing back to the table the one thing that is the
source of any and all healing, God. So stick around for some bite-sized ideas that might
unmask any falsehood preventing the truth from finally setting you free. And if it feels helpful,
don't forget to share it with others.
All right, given how long the last episode was, I figured I'd maybe
shift gears and since it was such a warning note and, you know, calling things out,
I thought I would shift gears and do just a meditation sort of on the nature of healing itself.
The other day I sat back and I was considering some words that I had I've read many times
in the Bible as a prophecy around things that Jesus would do, what Jesus told John the Baptist,
and what not so obviously if you're not Christian, Christian bear with me on this part.
But the words are around giving sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, the lame to walk,
the blind you'll see, the deaf shall hear, those types of things. And then I sat back and I was like
thinking about the planet and the miracle that life is every single moment. One thing that I
heard Sadguru say years ago that I still feel has some merit to it was that there are really only
two sensible ways to address life. One way is to look at everything as a miracle.
That every aspect of existence is a miraculous experience and the other way is to look at nothing
as a miracle because when you're caught in the middle, what happens is that you start to judge
and you start to say, well, this is good and that's bad and this is miraculous and that's not.
And then your experience of the things that you dub not miraculous
becomes negative because you're chasing the things that you want to be miraculous. It starts to
create this desire only for the miraculous things. And I tended to flip back and forth between
those for a long time and I probably still do. Like it's very helpful to see everything as a
miracle because then awe and wonder show up and not intellectually as a miracle but to really
truly experience everything as a miracle. On the other hand, it was very helpful when I'm dealing
with people's really difficult problems to treat it like something that is simple and not miraculous
at all but just basic and normal because doing that gets rid of this idea that they're under attack
from some entity that's bigger than them and allows them to actually take responsibility and
allows them to feel like they have some power and control. Now hidden inside that, I still held
that the healing itself, the shift, the change, the transformation, whatever you want to call it,
was itself not something that we do but truly miraculous. But consider this, the earth is a lump
of mud and clay and water and stone and then the right conditions, plants grow and those plants
take the earth and clay and water and mud and stone and they somehow make them into more plant
matter and then animals come along and they don't eat earth and mud and clay and stone but rather
take in water and then eat the plants and of the plants they make more animal matter and then
humans come along and they eat vegetables but then they also eat these animals as well,
other types of carnivores do the same and they hunt them down and then they partake of the animal
flesh itself and of that and of the fruits that they're eating and the vegetables that they're
eating, they make more human cells in an, like a massive variety, I almost say infinite variety,
but a massive variety of different cells doing different things, producing in a way some sort of
sustenance of human life that ultimately was mud and clay and water and stone and that's it.
So there's this incredible miracle happening every day where God Himself or whatever it is
that you believe creates life, I'll say God, God Himself is daily and every moment
making it so that blind earth and deaf mud and lame and crippled stone
gets up and walks and sees and hears and tastes and smells and has thoughts and has memories
and can feel spiritual things and has a heartbeat and breathes the air and produces as waste
product more earth and releases that back to the earth as all the other animals do,
but ultimately all the ancients could see it this bit of earth and mud and clay and stone and water
eventually lies back down in the earth and becomes ash and then returns to being just what it was
before and every moment is a massive miracle happening you can look at your children
it's dirt that has gotten up and had a life of its own and an entire world inside its head
that you do not know billions of moments that you will never be privy to
and even if they're having a hard time can you hold that in your mind
the awareness that yes this is a person that needs some care and attention
and also just as they are what a miracle that the earth got up injured itself and began to cry
that the earth got up had hopes and dreams and felt disappointment and excitement and all of those
things that the earth got up and in its ultimate expression loved God and became a place where
God's spirit could dwell what a miracle what a gift that God created earth and clay and mud and
water and stone and then poured life into it in such a way that you and I right now could potentially
be tasting even just a whiff just a bite just a morsel of the love that God is and wants to give
to his entire creation of the light that he is and wants to give to his entire creation
the end so when we talk about healings it's not anything different than is happening at any other
point in time when we talk about healings all that's happening is that this earth and clay and mud
and water and stone is organizing itself into a system into a person or an animal or whatever
it is that can finally experience these other things the things that life itself that God wants to
give it there's something utterly miraculous about that so when I tell a parent that when their
kids are screaming and it gets them a little bit riled up you know go back and just look at the
way the light of the sun is falling across the cheek of that child the way the sound of their
voice not the words just the sound vibrates in your own body the way your own voice vibrates in
your own body the way that the tear is catch the light the way that their cheeks jiggle
and then when you give them a hug notice the smell of their hair or the way it tickles across your
face and be aware that that all is miraculous that is the expression of earth and mud and clay
and water and stone having gotten up and become that unique expression of life that you could
talk to and interact with and that you are no different and I am no different you look at your own
self and what do you see but earth and clay and mud and water and stone that has been lifted up
from the earth to become something far more than just those elements
and that's enough to chew on for now to dive deeper into any of this and experience what it's
like to build an automatic muscle memory that produces joy and freedom even in difficult
circumstances visit find the origin dot com and don't forget god the real origin of both life
and happiness is closer even than your heartbeat and the very reason you and I still have one
despite everything we keep doing to push him away
