And we have heard now from several people that span several different decades of his life that he had a problem with anger, that he flew into rages, and now we're hearing that he didn't show up to school the day after the murders. So let's dive into this article from inside edition and let's see what author Chris Spargo has for us. Brian Colberger treated female professors with disrespect and made a female classmate uncomfortable by repeatedly asking her out claims a grad student who attended Washington State University with the suspected murderer. Why are you sitting there being rude and condescending to your classmates? Don't you think they might have something to offer as far as something you might be able to learn from them? Isn't that why you're in college? Oh, that's right. We're talking about a narcissistic lunatic who is so deep in his own hubris that he couldn't see

3:08the forest through the trees. If Einstein showed up, he'd think he's smarter than Einstein when it comes to physics. And unfortunately, we all know this type of person. We've all dealt with them. And I know some of us have even had bosses just like this guy. Well, without the murder spree, of course, but the condescending attitude, the om better than you attitude. When in reality, you know that they're not better than you, but that's just how some people are built. And fortunately, for the rest of the world, most people like that aren't killers. But according to the government, Brian Coburger is, when angry, the grad student alleges that Coburger's face would turn bright red and he clenched his fists until his knuckles were white. Now imagine getting that mad in school, like maybe if you're like in first grade or something like that, but college, this is the way you're going to act as a PhD candidate. What it tells me is that Brian Coburger was spiraling. His inner demons, the ones that he had worked to keep pressed down deep in the dark recesses of his stomach.

4:08Well, they could no longer be oppressed. And they were making their way to the surface. And this is the way that it was showing itself. And then finally, it culminated with what happened on King Road in the early morning hours on November 13th, a second colleague in the same program, similarly described Coburger's behavior to ABC News. The grad student claims Coburger, lack respect for people's boundaries, telling ABC News, he allegedly developed a crush on a female in the criminology program and began repeatedly asking her out and staring at her. The woman allegedly felt so uncomfortable that other students made a point of never leaving them alone together, says the grad student. I mean, really? How was that even allowed? Like, you don't go to the professor and say to the professor, look, this guy's a weirdo, he's leering at me, he keeps hitting on me, and I don't want to be in a class with him. And from the perspective of the school, what are you guys doing? You have this guy not only here as a student, but employed as the

5:12TA and he has this kind of behavior. The first time he malved off to the professor, he should have lost his job. Being part of that criminology program is a privilege. It's not a right. So, Brian Coburger's behavior should have led directly to his ass getting thrown out. ABC News said that the grad student spoke on the condition of anonymity. In his role as a teacher's assistant, Coburger allegedly made his undergraduate students feel uncomfortable, according to the grad student. He would allegedly have his office hours run late into the evening and violated protocol by keeping his door closed according to the grad student. The grad student claims they began to stay in their office after some students voiced their discomfort. So, for me as a manager, in my position at the sports book and when I worked in the joint at the hard rock, I never had a meeting with an employee by myself. I always had another supervisor there or another manager. That way, everything was on the up and up, right? You don't close the door. What's wrong

6:17with you? Especially if we're talking about a teacher's assistant, talking to a student, what do you need to close the door for? Especially if it's in violation of policy. That grad student claims that Coburger's fellow PhD students began tracking his behaviors that bothered them. Especially what they saw as disrespect towards female professors. And this has been a common theme that we've heard about Brian Coburger. Disrespect towards women, not respecting his female professors and being an all-around jerk off. That decision to track Coburger's behavior could pay off for prosecutors in the upcoming murder trial since it allegedly noted that the man suspected of killing four people in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 13th, did not attend class on Monday, November 14th. So, why not? Why wasn't he in school? For all of you out there, all of you contrairions, who think that Brian Coburger is innocent? Why wasn't he in school the next day? Oh, that's right. I'll tell you why, because he was at the house on King Road,

7:18taking a look at his Andy work. That's why. You know, I've tried to give Coburger the benefit of the doubt here, but the more we learn, the more we see the more evidence that's presented, the harder that becomes. Coburger's defense team did not respond to a request for comment. A gag order prohibits his attorneys from speaking publicly about their client or his case. Coburger is accused of killing four University of Idaho students in the middle of the night at an off-campus house. Three of the victims, Madison Mogad, Kelley Gon-Solves, and Zana Kernotal lived in the home. The fourth victim, 20-year-old Ethan Chapin, was in a relationship with Kernotal, and just a quick correction here. Kelley wasn't living at the home at the time. She had already returned home to live with her parents, and she was just visiting to show Madison her new car. Coburger told a previous public defender that he expects to be exonerated at trial.

8:19In May, he declined to enter a plea after being formally charged with four counts of murder. The judge in the case entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. In a filing last month, his defense team questioned the strength of the case against their client, claiming that the DNA of three other men had been discovered at the murder scene. And while that sounds damning, when you examine what they're talking about, all they're saying is that other DNA was found at the scene of the crime. We know that a lot of people were in and out of this house. We know it was a party house, so that doesn't surprise me at all. When you go back and look at what we talked about previously about how the whole crime scene is going to be a bunch of DNA soup, it's certainly not surprising. However, what they forget to talk about is the DNA on the sheath of the knife. And until that's explained, none of these other excuses or reasons why Brian Coburger is innocent are going to fly. You're going to have to explain that DNA on the knife sheath

9:22and how it got there. And until you do that, all of the rest of this stuff you're doing as far as the defense, it's performative. The filing also claims that there is a total lack of DNA evidence from the victims and Mr. Coburger's apartment office home or vehicle that we know of. And as far as the vehicle goes, if he went there, knowing that he was going to commit these murders, wouldn't it make sense if he had his vehicle prepared with plastic and the rest of it? So that on his ride home, remember, he took the long way home, he could get rid of that evidence. That would make sense to me. Now, I know I'm not some hot shot PhD student like Brian Coburger, but getting rid of evidence is a good idea. And if you go someplace and you know you're going to murder people, being prepared to do it is also a good idea, wearing the right clothes, disposable, etc., etc. Another piece of evidence that the defense says is lacking is the identification of the suspect's car. The problem will cause affidavit references of white sedan, but makes no mention of make or

10:26model. Jay Weston, Logston, the attorney for Coburger says that there is only one sighting of a vehicle that is certainly a Hyundai Alontera. Remember those technicalities I'm always talking about? Well, you're seeing it here. Jay Logston and Anteiler and Alyssa Massoth, they understand that they're really up against it and the evidence against their client is as high as Mount Everest. Coburger owned and drove a 2016 Alontera. These claims were included in the defense's objection the prosecutors request seeking a protective order for the genetic genealogy testing done in the case. The defense is seeking a detailed breakdown of how FBI agents utilized genetic genealogy to initially identify Coburger as a person of interest in the case. Now, I think that should be turned over to the defense. I don't think that any of the test results should be held back. Just give them all of them. Why even worry about it? Give them everything you have, let them trace the genealogy

11:28at themselves, and they're going to get to the same destination. Because guess what? The truth is, what the truth is. The state is arguing that since DNA from a buccal swab provided by the suspect after his arrest matched the DNA found on a knife sheath at the scene, the genetic genealogy results will play no role in the upcoming trial and are inconsequentialed approving the suspect's guilt or innocence. If I'm being honest, I don't like that. If I was Brian Coburger, I'd want all of these test results as well. I want to see how you arrived at that destination. Remember in math class, let me see the work. The judge has not yet ruled on the matter. If convicted Coburger could face the death penalty and the state of Idaho has already said they're going to pursue the death penalty in this case. So he's definitely going to face the death penalty if he's found guilty. The question is, will the state be able to get the ball over the goal line and get the conviction that they're seeking? The chilling online comments made by suspected killer Brian Coburger when he was a teenager, have resurfaced revealing how he felt blank, had no emotion and felt a little remorse. Years before, he allegedly murdered four University of Idaho students in a brutal knife attack. Now, as far as Coburger goes, are we sure this dude hasn't committed any crimes before? I mean, it seems like quite a leap for me anyway that this dude just decides one day that he's

13:37going to murder four people. Now, it's not out of the realm of possibility that somebody can go from zero to 60 that quickly, but usually there's progression. And that progression includes other murders, right? You don't just walk in and kill four people. But again, nothing about this case is normal. Nothing about this case is regular. Everything about this is just so bizarre and so crazy that nothing shocks me at this point. Back in 2011, when he was 16 years old, Mr. Coburger spoke about his mental health struggles in an online forum and described seeing nothing when he looked at his own family. As I hug my family, I look into their faces. I see nothing. It's like I am looking at a video game, but less he wrote more than a decade later, he is facing the death penalty for the murders of Kayleegon Salvis, Madison Mogen, Zana Kernotl, and Ethan Chapin back on November 13th. The 28-year-old criminology PhD student appeared in court on Thursday with several

14:42small cuts on his face where he agreed to waive his right to a speedy, preliminary hearing. Now his next court date is scheduled for June 26th. And those cuts that they're talking about, well, according to the Sheriff's Office, Brian Coburger received those cuts while shaving in prison. Idaho murder victims had no connection the Brian Coburger says attorney. The four University of Idaho students murdered in an off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho had no known connection to their suspected killer Brian Coburger, according to an attorney for one of the victims' families. No one knew of this guy at all. Shannon Gray, who represents the family of victim Kayleegon Salvis, told Business Insider. His comments come as prosecutors in Idaho are yet to reveal a motive for the brutal quadruple murders. Or what connection, if any, they believe Mr. Coburger had to any of the victims. The affidavit release last week revealed how cell phone data suggests that the suspect

15:47stuck the home of the victims at least 12 times between June and the night of the murders. And if it wasn't for that, sheath folks, they would have no idea who this dude is yet. So you want to talk about making some crucial errors? Leaving that sheath was the top of the food chain dumbass moves. And without that DNA being found on that sheath, they would have never tracked him down. So all of this other stuff, all these other issues, the phone pinging, him, you know, stalking them, all of that stuff would have never even been known. So it all went back to that DNA and that DNA being traced to his father through the rummaging around in the garbage. Brian Coburger appears in court with face cuts as he waves his right to a speedy trial. Suspected quadruple killer Brian Coburger appeared in court with cuts on his face as he waved his right to a speedy trial on charges of murdering four Idaho students.

16:48The 28 year old criminology PhD student made a brief appearance in LaTah County Courthouse in Moscow on Thursday morning for a status hearing in the murder case. Dressed in an orange t-shirt with unexplained marks on his face, Mr. Coburger spoke only to answer yes, when asked if he understood his rights to a speedy preliminary hearing within the next 14 days. And if he agreed to wave those rights and he did wave those rights, he wants to have time to build his defense and again, the cuts and scratches on his face. Well, he got those due to shaving according to the authorities. So let's just be clear before people run with that one and start talking about how he's going to get Epstein. BTK killer Dennis Raider sees similarities between himself and Brian Coburger. Well, that's great company to keep on fellow travelers and all. BTK killer Dennis Raider has said that he sees similarities between himself and Brian Coburger, the man accused of murdering four Idaho students. Raider, who was convicted of murdering 10 in Wichita,

17:53Kansas, told TMZ in a jailhouse email that he can relate to Mr. Coburger's dark mind and believes he may have been motivated by a fantasy homicide to kill much like himself. I mean, what is wrong with people? The scariest part is this. There are a lot of people out there like these two idiots and we have no idea that they're living in communities amongst us, working with us, shopping at the same stores we shop at. Believe it, there are sick people living in your community right now. People just like BTK and obviously people like Brian Coburger. While Raider confessed to killing his victims, in order to fulfill his sexual fantasies, a motive has not yet been revealed for the 13th of November murders of Kaleegon solvus, Madison Mogen, Zannecernodal and Ethan Chapin. Mr. Coburger has not yet been asked to enter a plea in Idaho court, but is said to plan to fight the allegations. Now we know from the affidavit and from reports that there was no sexual assaults that took place.

18:59However, that doesn't mean the crime wasn't of a sexual nature. Some of these guys, the killing is what gets them off. And I know it sounds bizarre to those of us out here who are at least partially normal. That sounds very, very bizarre, but there's a whole last bunch of people who really have these fantasies and the only way they can satiate these, these wants and these needs is to actually go out and live up to these fantasies. And according to Dennis Raider, the BTK killer, he says that's what he sees in Brian Coburger. According to his affidavit, the suspect may have stalked the victims, home at least 12 times prior to the murders. BTK wrote in his email that he thinks Mr. Coburger would lie and wait for the victims and stalk them and their student home in Moscow, writing that this was much like I did. And remember his professor, meaning Brian Coburger's, wrote a book with the BTK. And just because Brian wasn't in contact with BTK, doesn't mean he

20:03wasn't mimicking some of his patterns. Now I'm not saying that's for sure. That's up to the investigators to figure out, but it's not out of the realm of possibility. He went on to point out the similarities between one of his own attacks and the quadruple murder that Mr. Coburger is now charged with in 1974, Raider murdered four members of the Otero family, strangling them to death in their Wichita home. Murder four, much like the Oteros, up close and personal stabbed. He wrote in the email comparing the two crimes. BTK and Mr. Coburger have an eerie connection. I mean, you want to talk about absolute degenerates. BTK is certainly that. Another one of these punk-ass bitches, another coward who skulked around in people's homes and then did what cowards do and performed the sneak attack to murder them. Mr. Coburger had gained a master's degree in criminology in 2022 from Pennsylvania's to Salis University, where he was taught by Dr. Catherine Ramsland. Dr.

21:09Ramsland is the leading academic authority on the BTK killings and wrote the 2016 book Confession of the Serial Killer, the untold story of Dennis Raider, the BTK killer, drawing on hundreds of hours of interviews and phone conversations with the serial killer to delve deep into his psyche. And again, that sounds bizarre to the rest of us, but Ms. Ramsland, she is a professor and somebody has to try and dive deep into the minds of these sickos, right? So better her than me. But I don't think you can discount the fact that Ramsland, who was Coburger's professor, was in close contact and actually worked with BTK. And then you see Coburger commit these similar crimes. I mean, I don't think that you can just cast it to the side and say there's no copycatting here. And I'm sure the investigators are taking a look at that as well. Brian Coburger called Idaho murders a crime of passion in a conversation with his neighbor. Oh, that's nice. Huh? Crime of passion is that Brian Coburger.

22:15So this dude's out here pumping his gums to his neighbor, talking about what he thinks went down. Meanwhile, he's the man suspected of these killings. And he's out here talking to his neighbor, talking about how it's a crime of passion. I wonder if the authorities are going to take that into account as well. Could Coburger have been spilling the beans a little bit? We just don't know. And until we have some information about a motive, it's going to be pure speculation as far as what drove Brian Coburger allegedly to commit these crimes. This dudes a criminology PhD. This is what he does. This is his gig. He's following along because he wants to be a cop someday or a forensic specialist or whatever the hell. So as the neighbor, you don't see this being weird. You're like, oh, shit. All right. Got myself an educated opinion from somebody who does this for a living. 25:28Brian co burger with records revealing he placed a series of phone calls to a family member just two hours after allegedly murdering four students in a stabbing spree. The 30 year old criminology PhD student called his dad Michael co burger three times in the morning on November 13th, 2022, according to bombshell cell phone records obtained by NBC's date line. And look, don't get me wrong. I'm happy that we have access to this. But where did date line get it? Considering the gag order, that could be troublesome moving forward. No, the calls began at 617 AM, just two hours after co burger is accused of murdering for university of Idaho students and each lasted up to 54 minutes. So what was he talking to his dad about? That's obviously the question. Now I know our minds want to run wild and come up with all kinds of crazy scenarios, but the truth is we just don't know. We have no idea what those conversations were about. Or why Brian co burger

26:32thought it would be a good idea to call his dad just a couple hours after these murders went down. Now of course you could look at it that Brian co burger is innocent and he called his dad because that's what sons do. They call their dad. That's what his team's going to say. There's nothing that fair is here. Brian co burger just like anybody else has a relationship with his father and wanted to give him a call. But unfortunately for Brian co burger, all the evidence that we've seen that's been lined up against them certainly points us in the direction of something the fariest taking place. What exactly the father and son spoke about remains a mystery, but the shocking revelation comes after prosecutors revealed they planned to call some of co burgers on family members to testify against them at his capital murder trial this summer. And that's a blow. Imagine you're up there fighting for your life and they call your mom or your dad or your sister up against you to come and give testimony. Doesn't sound like a fun time to me.

27:34With that said, I highly doubt that they're going to go for the throat when they have Brian co burger's people on the stand. They're going to use it to solidify what they've been saying previously about behavior and stuff like that. And probably they'll be talking about that Amazon account that they all allegedly shared. That'll probably come up with them on the stand. But besides that, I don't really see what the prosecution is going to get from having co burger's people get up on the stand and give testimony. But maybe they have a strategy that we're not aware of yet. Co burger is facing the death penalty if convicted of the brutal murders of Kayley Gonsalves, Madison Mogen, Zana Kernodal, and Ethan Chapin. The four University of Idaho students were slaughtered in a knife attack in the early hours of November 13th, 2022, inside the off-campus student home at 1122 King Road in Moscow, Idaho, that the three women shared with two other roommates.

28:36The two roommates, Bethany Funk and Dylan Mortensen, survived with Mortensen coming face-to-face with the mass killer inside the home that haunting night. And look, if she said anything to him that night, my guess is that Brian co burger or whoever this person is who did the killing would have killed her too. So by the grace of God, she didn't say anything to him, whether it was panic or she was, you know, still intoxicated, whatever. She didn't say anything to him, anyone on his way. But if she would have said something to him, I think we would have had a different story that we're talking about here, based on survivors' accounts as well as surveillance footage which captured a white Hyundai Alantra circling the home, investigators say the murders unfolded just after 4am. Prosecutors alleged that the suspect turned his cell phone off or placed it in airplane mode to avoid detection around that time. At 6am, just two hours from the murders,

29:40co burger cell phone was back on and a call was made from it to his father cell phone, according to the records obtained by Dateline. The call lasted 36 minutes, with cell tower data placing co burger's phone near as apartment and poolman at the time. This was the first to three calls the suspected killer made to his dad over the next couple of hours, with the longest lasting 54 minutes. Look, I'm not going to sit here and try and tell you I know what they talked about. But it's certainly pretty odd. And maybe that has something to do with having his dad come up on the stand talking about that phone call. But remember, his dad could bleed the fifth. I don't remember what we said. It was nothing consequential. We were talking about our drive from Washington back to Pennsylvania. So, you know, it could be a whole host of things that they talked about, obviously, but it certainly is a bit interesting that this phone call happened a couple hours. After these murders occurred, but we have to remember, interesting doesn't always amount to

30:45consequential. The exact timing of the calls and what co burger spoke about remains unclear. It's also unclear if this was typical behavior for a co burger to call his father at that time. Co burgers parents live in Albright'sville, Pennsylvania, which is three hours ahead of Pullman, making the first call around 9 a.m. for Michael. Well, look, that's not too early in the morning, right? People are up at 9 a.m. especially older folks. So I don't find that too odd, especially if it's something that co burger did all the time. However, it's the circumstances surrounding the phone call and the timing of it that brings it into focus, right? Following those calls to his father, co burger allegedly returned to the scene of the murders with his phone pinging off a cell tower close to 1122 King Road at 912 a.m. Just one hour after that, at around 1031 a.m., the quadruple homicide suspect was back at his Pullman apartment where he snapped a creepy selfie. And I don't really take too much from the selfies. They don't really mean much to me. People take

31:49selfies all the time. And you can't tell if someone's a murderer by how they look. But there's no doubt that if you're somebody who's a PhD student and a couple hours after some murders that you're suspected of, you take pictures mimicking Ted Bondy. Well, people are going to have some questions, my friend. In the photo, the suspected killer posed for the camera with his thumbs up and an eerie smile plastered across his face as he stood in front of the shower. Over another hour past, before the bloodbath was discovered at 1122 King Road and the now haunting 911 call was placed just before midday. On December 30, 2022, around six weeks on from the murders, Washington State University student co burger was arrested at his parents' home in Pennsylvania, where he had returned for the holidays. Yeah, guess who didn't enjoy their holidays? The murdered kids and their families. Coberger's father, Michael, had traveled to Pullman to make the cross-country road trip with his son

32:55earlier in the month. The father and son duo were stopped by police officers twice as they made the day's long journey in the accused killer's White Hyundai Alonstra, the same vehicle, prosecutors alleged the killer was driving that faithful night. In the two plus years since his arrest, the co burger family has kept a low profile and is not spoken out about the allegations against the accused killer. Will you blame them? What should they do, do the circuit? Go on all the podcasts? Hey, we're Brian co burger's family. We want to talk about the case. Not a good idea, especially considering that Brian co burger's ass is facing the death penalty and has a mountain of evidence lined up against him. If you're looking for your loved one to beat the case, probably a good idea to shut up. And that's exactly the strategy that co burger's family is used throughout this whole entire ordeal. 33:56by the family was a statement released immediately after his arrest, where they said they carried deeply for the four families who have lost their precious children, that they were cooperating fully with the investigation. And that as a family, we love and support our son and brother. Again, what else are you going to say? If you don't say anything, well you're accused of defending co burger. The more information we get about what went down here or allegedly went down, the harder and harder it becomes for anyone who's defending Brian co burger to be taken seriously. He also had a trove of images of female students from WSU and UI, many of them in bikinis. The images date line reported, appeared to have been taken from social media accounts of students who followed or a friends with either Colonel Goncalves or Mogen.
