Recently, Kayley Gonsolva's parents, Steve Gonsolvas and Christy Gonsolvas gave an interview to ABC News where they were discussing a little bit more about what they know about the murder of their daughter and they were talking about how they received some pictures and how they were even given the contents to the trash bin inside of her room. And this all comes a few days after we heard from the Gonsolvas family and how they were in fear that this trial was going to get pushed back. Now after the hearing that was held last Friday, certainly a possibility, especially considering that Brian Coburger's team have asked to push this back until 2025. So you know that the Gonsolvas family is not happy about that. Today's article is from the Independent and the Headline. 2:05by Andrea Cavaliier. Kayley Gonsolvas, one of the four victims in the University of Idaho student murders was found upright, slumped against the wall, her parents recently revealed. The 21-year-old was brutally stabbed to death in an off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho on November 13th, 2022, along with Madison Mogen, Zanakernodal, and Ethan Chapin. A trial date is still unknown for their suspected killer. And at this point in time, we're not any closer to that trial date. I was hoping that after Friday we would be at a point where it would be a little bit closer, but considering the ask by Anne Taylor and Brian Coburger's team, I just don't see us getting to a point where we have a trial date anytime soon. Steven Christie Gonsolvas, Kayley's parents sat down for an interview with ABC News this week where they revealed they had received thousands of photos of the scene of the grizzly crime from the police. I can't even imagine going through those

3:07photos. I don't even know how you're able to do that. Honestly, crime scene photos of your child being murdered. Is there anything that a parent fears more? I mean, I don't have kids, but my guess is a lot of you who do spend a lot of restless nights while your kids are out. Never mind finding out that this happened to your child and not only that, but getting the pictures to boot. Some of the images revealed the final position of Kayley's body when she died. The side where Kayley was was up against the wall, and if you can imagine Kayley in an upright sort of position up in the corner, slumped. I mean, she was trapped. Miss Gonsolvas told ABC News, and can you imagine the fear? Can you imagine what these poor girls were going through? As somebody who has no involvement, it's hard to imagine. Imagine it being your child. The bed was the entire room. You could barely open up the door without swiping the foot of the bed. And it was wall. The headboard was up against the wall. So according to the Gonsolvas family,

4:13Kayley was trapped between the wall and the killer. And she was in an upright position while this happened, or in the aftermath of it, when these pictures were taken. Gonsolvas and Mogen's bodies were found in the bedroom on the third floor while her nodal and shape in were found on the second floor of the home. The independent previously reported. Brian Coburger is accused of breaking into the off-campus, student home on King Road, and stabbing to death the four students with a large military-style knife. And that knife is a K-bar knife, they believe. So they've been looking for that knife, obviously, since the very start of this. My opinion, Brian Coburger got rid of that knife while he was taking the long way home from the murder scene. We know that he took a detour, and we know that he went through a sparsely populated area. So what was he doing out there? I said from Jump Street that I think he had a burn pit and a place to get rid of whatever evidence there might have been. Prosecutors say Coburger's DNA was found on a knife sheath that was discovered

5:19on Mogen's bed next to her body. The Gonsolvas said in the interview this week that they were also given some Achilles belongings from the house, including a trash can from a room that was full and appeared untouched, her mother recalled. We opened it, and there was a little squeezy applesauce thing that like you would give to a toddler, it did not appear to have been gone through. Ms. Gonsolvas said so they didn't go through the trash, is that what she's saying? I have a hard time believing that, but okay. Police said they had gathered more than 100 pieces of physical evidence from the scene, along with 4,000 photos and 3D scans of the residents. The Gonsolvas, who have long questioned the competency of the investigation, publicly stated last month, that they were against the demolition of the three-story house where the murders took place. But on December 28, despite several protests, the home was raised to the ground. Another bad decision in my opinion.

6:21No need to do it this quickly. Plenty of time to do it later on, right? But here we are. So no house, and I just hope that it doesn't come back to bite the prosecution in the ass later on down the road. Meanwhile, the family said that they are still waiting on a full digital copy of Kaleigh's phone from the police. We're just left in Limbo Kaleigh's dad, Steve Gonsolvas said, these are the last moments of your child's life, and you're sitting here fighting with somebody who just doesn't care. And to state that the Gonsolvas family has had a contentious relationship with the authorities is to say it nicely, because this has been something that's ongoing since the very beginning. The Gonsolvas family feels like they've been disrespected, and they feel like they're not getting enough information about what went down. According to the authorities, they can't give the Gonsolvas family any information because the Gonsolvas family was talking to the media. So as you can imagine, a lot of frustration, right? And that's where a liaison supposed to come in.

7:23But it doesn't seem like whoever the liaison was here was doing the right thing. On Friday, the 29-year-old criminology PhD student, and accused Mass Killer, appeared in a Laytah County courtroom where his legal team made another bid to have his indictment dismissed and to unseal documents in the case which Judge John Judge denied. The judge was also expected to set a trial date with prosecutors arguing for a summer 2024 due to concerns of more school traffic in the fall and the spring. I am still concerned about the victims and their families. Prosecutor Bill Thompson said they have suffered for well over a year now with a lot of uncertainty, and that's painful, and it's an everyday reminder, and they need some sort of certainty, and they need some closure in a timely fashion. But we know we also have to make sure, as your honor just said, a few minutes ago, that we only do this case once he added, and that's a lot of the issue here. They don't want this

8:25to have to be retry it, right? They don't want him to get an appeal that is successful, and they have to start the process all over again. So what they're trying to do is make sure that they're thorough. But at some point, like Mr. Thompson just said here, you have to think about the family members, you have to think about the victims' family members, and what they're going through. Co-burgers' defense team argued that a more appropriate date would be the summer of 2025, claiming that there was a mountain of evidence, including thousands of photographs, videos, and over 400 witnesses to interview. Ultimately, Judge John Judge decided to hold off on setting a date. My heart goes out to the victims. I can't even imagine the pain, the grief, because you can't really go forward with your life with this hanging over your head. So I'm sorry, he said. The demolition of the house in December marked an emotional step for the victim's families and a close knit community that was devastated by the brutal slangs of the

9:27students. For more than six weeks, the college town of Moscow was plunged into fear as the accused killer remained at large with no arrest made and no suspects named. Then on December 30, law enforcement suddenly swooped in on Co-burgers' family home in all Brightesville, Pennsylvania, and arrested them for the quadruple murders. The motive remains unknown, and it's still unclear what connection the WSU PhD student had to the University of Idaho students, if any, prior to the murders. The murder weapon of Fixblade Knife has never been found. Co-burger, who is facing the death penalty for the killings, has tried once already to get the charges thrown out. The bid was rejected by the judge. And I think that any attempt Brian Co-burger makes to try to have it thrown out, it's going to be met with the same kind of answer by the judge because there's so much evidence here that the only way to figure out what truly happened is to go to trial. The only

10:28way to figure out if Brian Co-burger truly is guilty is to go to trial and the judge realizes that so that's what's going to happen. This is going to go to trial. Co-burger is going to have his day in court and we'll go from there. But having the charges just tossed out, that's just never going to be a reality. Never was a reality. A criminal justice PhD student at WSU, Co-burger lived just 15 minutes from the victims over the Idaho Washington border in Pullman. He had moved there from Pennsylvania and began his studies there that summer, having just completed his first semester before his arrest. Before this, he studied criminology at the Salis University under renowned forensic psychologist Catherine Ramzland, who interviewed the BTK serial killer and co-wrote the book Confession of a serial killer, the untold story of Dennis Raider, the BTK killer with him. 12:34when committing a crime. Sounds like somebody who is well equipped to commit a crime, but I think the big takeaway from an article like this is what the Gon Salis family is still going through. And this family is suffering folks. This is a family that wants justice and obviously justice has been denied up until now. So they want to get this process rolling. They want to have a trial date and they want to get this train of justice rolling. And unfortunately, the question still is, when is that going to occur? Steve Gon Salis, the father of Kaylee Gon Salis, is not very happy with the investigation into the murder of his daughter. And honestly, do you blame the guy? If it was your kid, would you be confident in what's going on? Would you be confident in the messaging? I certainly wouldn't be.

13:38So I understand completely why this guy is upset and why he has no confidence in this investigation. Now on the flip side of that, I understand that this is a complex investigation. And they're not going to have all of the answers right away. But they need to have a better messaging system at the very least, right? That's been the biggest gripe, at least for me, since this all started. If you're going to have poor messaging and you're going to be providing misinformation, you can't really get upset about so-called, quote-unquote conspiracy theories or other people coming up with what might have happened. When you don't have a proper system in place and somebody who is going to send out the proper messaging, you set yourself up for all kinds of criticism about the confusion that the investigation itself has sewn. And imagine being one of these parents,

14:38I know that all of us are sitting here on the sidelines wanting justice and wanting some resolution. But imagine being the parents, nobody's talking to you, nobody's telling you anything. And granted, I understand why the investigators don't want to talk to Mr. Gunsalva's, perhaps he's been talking to the media. So I get both sides of the coin here. But I have a lot of empathy for Mr. Gunsalva's. Let's not forget that this man just lost his daughter. So with that said, we have an article from Fox News where Mr. Gunsalva's is talking about how he doesn't have very much confidence in what's going on. Headline, Idaho murder victim, Kayley Gunsalva's father reveals he does not feel confident in the police investigation. Mr. Gunsalva's said he's frustrated by the lack of communication from police investigating the quadruple homicide. This article was authored by Yale, Helen.

15:42Steve Gunsalva's father of University of Idaho murder victim, Kayley Gunsalva's told Fox News that he has lost confidence in the police investigation surrounding his daughter's death as poor communication and the lack of progress in the case leaves the victim's family's desperate for answers. And then you wonder why conspiracy theories pop up or why people start looking to put the pieces together themselves. If there's a lack of communication from the police to the community and the police to the nation overall, you know that especially with the way the internet is, people are going to have some things to say. And then you see Mr. Gunsalva's who is a lot closer to this case than any of us coming out and saying this sort of thing, how can that inspire confidence amongst the populace who's following the case? I do not feel confident. Gunsalva said on Fox and friends Sunday when asked about the investigation. And that's why I pushed the envelope and say

16:46a little bit more. I hate to be that guy, but you know, everybody has a job and a role to play. And this is my role as the parent and anyone who is trying to tell this man any differently really should reevaluate their opinions. This is a man who's grieving right now. Imagine losing your daughter or your child in such a manner. And then three weeks later, nobody has any clue about who did it. And it's one thing to tell the rest of us to be patient. It's another thing to tell the father of Kayley Gunsalva's that you have no answers or that he needs to be patient. I can completely understand why he would be going so hard here looking for answers. He doesn't want this to get backburnered. He doesn't want this case to fall off the radar and his daughter's murderer. Get away with all of this. Gunsalva's daughter and her childhood best friend, Madison Mogan, were found dead on the third floor of the Moscow Idaho residents around noon on November 13th, while victim Zana Kernotl and her boyfriend Ethan Chapin were found on the second floor.

17:52Law enforcement officials investigating the quadruple murder were criticized after they appeared to reverse their claim that one or more of the victims were targeted, saying later that they do not know of this case. And that suggestion by LaTah County prosecutor Bill Thompson was a result of a miscommunication. Of course, it was a miscommunication. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing obviously. So there's going to be miscommunications. Steve Gunsalva's who repeatedly expressed frustration with the lack of transparency by the police said he was instructed not to divulge whether his daughter or any of the other victims were targets of the attack. He did, however, call on investigators to share the alibis of certain unnamed individuals with the public. I don't see why that's a big deal. Why not share the alibis? Look, if it's not something that's going to destroy the case or destroy evidence in the case, they should be transparent. We're talking

18:54about a whole community who is being racked by fear now. We're talking about college kids. So there's a lot on the line here, a lot at stake. There's layers of separation, he said. The communication is not the same as the boots on the ground. All the officers that are out on the streets, those guys are working their tails off. And that's what I've said from the beginning. It's not so much the people who are working the case, right? You're a rank and file agent, police officer, whatever they want answers here. They want to find the person who did this and bring them to justice. But the bureaucrats, well, that's a whole different matter. These people have different motivations. They have different goals. They're worried about other things. And they're always the people that screw everything up. We saw it in the Epstein case as well. All of these middle managers, all of these people making these decisions that are politically based, maybe, and not based in reality. Because guess what, the only thing that should

19:56matter here is finding the person or person's responsible who killed these kids, nothing else. But there's a different person who does the communicating. And that guy's sitting with lawyers and that guy's sitting there telling him, you've got to protect things that are beyond the case, like the town and the community and the college itself. Those don't matter as much to me, he continued. And they shouldn't matter to Steve Gonsalves. If we're being real and we're being raw, why should he care about any of that stuff? All that should matter is finding the person or persons who did this. And whatever it takes to do that, that should be done. And if that means the image of the university or the police department gets a bit tarnished, then so be it. Because the longer this drags out, the worse off it's going to be for the community itself, right? If we're talking about it from that angle, then the quicker that there's resolution here, the better off it is for everybody. I mean, I definitely don't want to hurt them, but I have an agenda. And I think

21:02it's pretty clear it's these two girls. And that's what I'm working for. So Mr. Gonsalves has been pretty adamant since the very beginning about getting justice for Madison and for Kayleigh. And he's been hyper focused on those two roommates because obviously they were the ones in his hemisphere. Now I'm sure that he cares about Zana and Ethan as well, but his motivation here is to find justice for his daughter. And I don't blame him one bit. If it was my child, forget it. I'd be the worst person in the world. You couldn't tell me shit if you were the police. I'd be out there with a search party, you know, in the old wild west, when you put together a party or your friends, and go out and look for answers, that would be me. I'd be on some regulators mount up type shit because this is crazy. So I have a lot of empathy for Mr. Gonsalves here and for all of the parents of these murdered kids. It's true that Mr. Gonsalves continued. And I'm not going to let that story fall

22:04apart just because they don't want wanted posters, you know, on their next rush of students that come into town. Gonsalves said, so basically what Mr. Gonsalves is inferring here, if I'm reading this correctly, is that the university and the economics of the town are more important than finding the person who killed his daughter. That's what he's inferring here. And honestly, when you're talking about bureaucrats, when you're talking about people who are in charge of a university or the financial counselor, whatever, that's definitely going to be their motivation. I said it once before. Remember the movie jaws when the mayor is like, oh, yeah, it's cool to go swimming. No worries. Everybody go ahead. Have a dip. Meanwhile, you got a great white shark lurking in the water, killing people. So it's kind of the same concept, right? They want the economy to keep going and they don't want panic. Meanwhile, everybody in the country, everybody in the world is looking at Moscow saying to themselves, what's going on here? Gonsalves vow to continue speaking out

23:11publicly and has encouraged the other victims families to do the same in hopes of advancing the investigation. So Mr. Gonsalves, he's gung ho here, folks. He's somebody who is not going to give up and he's somebody who is going to keep pushing for answers. And when you have a case like this, that's what you need. The last thing you want are these bureaucrats to stagnate. I have talked to obviously Maddie's mother and her father and I've talked to Zana's father and he said, hey, you can speak on our behalf and you can help push this narrative. So I feel confident there. That's as far as the real communications that I have, he said, mentioning that he has not had a chance to get on the same page yet with Chapin's family. So I try not to mention that and stay within my lane of what is my role. I'm not trying to give it all to my daughter. It's just I can't speak for other people. Look, this has to be so painful for Mr. Gonsalves and other family members of the other kids like Ethan and Zana. Maybe they're not so comfortable getting in front of a microphone yet

24:16and talking to the world at large. But Mr. Gonsalves, he's pushing it and he's going to continue to push his narrative until he gets some justice. Asked whether he believes investigators are any closer to finding his daughter's killer, Gonsalves said plainly, I wish I knew for sure. I did sit down with the investigator, the lead investigator and I looked in his eyes and I got a sense that this guy was going to do everything in his power to get to figure something out. He said, but if the evidence isn't there, that's the part I'm concerned about. They talked about all this evidence that was at the crime scene, how there was so much DNA evidence, this, that, the other, but what they never stated or specified was if it was DNA from the perpetrator or just the victims. Gonsalves also revealed that he believes his daughter and her best friend may have been targeted based on the perpetrators suspected entry and exit point, telling Fox News that a sliding

25:19glass door or window on the second floor of the home, which meets a hill on the ground level in the backyard, are available without having to go upstairs or downstairs. For me, it looks like this sliding glass door is probably the most likely entrance, but again, that's just my speculation. I want to be clear about that. The killer's entry and exit are available without having to go upstairs or downstairs. Looks like he probably may have not gone downstairs. Gonsalves revealed. We don't know that for sure, but he obviously went upstairs. So I'm using logic that he chose to go up there when he didn't have to police also have yet to name any kind of motive in the quadruple murder. And also Mr. Gonsalves said that the wounds on one of the girls I'm guessing he was in foreign Kayleigh were a lot more gruesome and grim than they were on Madison. So that leads me to believe that there was some overkill. So that gives some weight to the whole theory that there

26:20was a stalker and perhaps Kayleigh was targeted. Again, folks, we're still swimming through the muck here. We have not reached any clear water yet. And there are still way more questions than there are answers. But one thing is for sure, Mr. Gonsalves, he's not letting up. He's not stepping back and he's not giving up an inch of ground. He plans on moving forward and finding who did this to his daughter and these other kids and holding them responsible. All right, folks, that's going to do it for this one. 28:32or his family members talk about this stuff live on air. Because you can just see the pain in this man's face. This is a guy who woke up one day and had his whole ass world rocked upside down. And he's a man who's demanding some answers and there's people out there that don't really care for it. Well, I'm not one of those people because I'll tell you right now, I'm not going to be a hypocrite and sit here and act like I'd be sitting on my hands if it was me because I wouldn't be. I'd be going absolutely bananas and I've said this before. So I think Mr. Gonsalves is handling himself quite well, honestly. And if you want to have beef with somebody, go talk to the corner who's not even a medical doctor, by the way, who was giving out all of this information to the families in the wake of these murders. Not only that, giving this information to Mr. Gonsalves' daughter. This is an elected official in Moscow. So why is she out here talking out of the side of her neck

29:33giving out this sort of information? If the investigators themselves don't want this information given out, I think that sounds like a corner problem, not a Mr. Gonsalves problem. Today's article is from kxly.com and the headline, we're struggling. Data by the whole murder victim reflects on lack of suspect five weeks after murders. And now, remember, look, five weeks is really not that long of a time when we're talking about a homicide investigation. These investigations take time to process. You have to wait for a whole boat load of results to come in on the DNA front and on the digital forensic front. And that's just scratching the tip of the ice berg. I'm under no illusions that the investigators have quite the job on their hands. And since jump street, I really haven't had too much of a gripe with what they're doing behind the scenes because again, I don't know what they're doing behind the scenes. So I can't criticize that and do it

30:35honestly, right? So I really don't have anything to say about that. My biggest problem has been the miscommunication. And it seems like the chief here, chief fry has some thin skin. And if you're going to have an international case like this, which is it is now become by the way, there is international interest in this case, you have to have a thick skin. People are going to criticize you. They're going to criticize your investigation. And you just have to keep it moving and keep grinding. Because whatever people have to say about the police chief or their investigation, it really shouldn't matter to the investigators. If you're confident in what you're doing, then let the results speak for themselves. Because really, when all is said and done, that's what's going to matter. 31:36victims says he's still hopeful for a resolution in the case. Steve Gansalva's daughter, Kaley, was stabbed to death on November 13th. Her friends, Maddie Mogen, Ethan Chapin, and Zana Karnotal were also killed in the home just off campus. Gansalvas has been the most outspoken of the victim's families, often critical of the lack of public information and the pace of the investigation. And there are people out there that are really but her that Steve Gansalvas has an opinion about what happened to his daughter. What I'll say to you is this, don't you think that the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein or the gymnast that were, you know, representing the United States of America? Don't they wish that they had somebody as outspoken as Steve Gansalvas that was willing to hold people's feet to the fire? Because there's a whole lot of trust and faith that's put into the FBI. And I just don't get it honestly. This isn't the FBI of yesterday year. This isn't the Elliott

32:40Ness untouchable FBI. Wednesday, he said on CNN that he's trying to determine how to navigate the holiday season, knowing his daughter's killer is still out there. We want to take time away. We don't want to be on the circuit. Gansalvas said, we just want to relax and knowing that those officers are there and they're the best of the best. It's definitely definitely comforting. So of course, you want the best of the best if it's your daughter would anyone demand any less. And they have investigators that have only been on the scene for a couple of years who are taking lead roles here. Of course, people are going to question that. Now, all of that criticism might be unfounded. The investigator might be top notch and great at what he does. But does that mean that people shouldn't bring up the question at the very least or the criticism that this is somebody with not that much experience when it comes to turning homicide cases? Why would people get mad at someone asking that question? And that's basically what Mr. Gansalvas

33:44is doing here. And then people turn it around like he's trying to attack the investigation. It's bananas to me. You can be critical of something, but still support it. This all or nothing nonsense that we find ourselves engaging in all the time is a little weird. You can support this investigation, but at the same time, be critical of it and demand more of it because you want results. And that's where I find myself viewing Steve Gansalvas at somebody who might be critical of this investigation. But if you think that you want this investigation solved more than Steve Gansalvas or any of these family members, you should probably take a step back and get in touch with reality. We're struggling, he said, and we have a lot of people around us that are there for us and help us and giving us some support. So we'll make it through. 34:47Christmas, you have New Year and all of the days to come in the future without your daughter. And people are out here actually criticizing this dude. It is just unbelievable to me. Hello. Please haven't released much new information only saying they've received more than 10,000 tips on the case. New video surfaced over the weekend that shows two of the victims, Kaylee and Maddie walking with a friend in the hours before they were attacked. It's not clear if that will help the case in any way, but it did offer more context to fill in where they were before they were killed. That video along with more than 4,500 other video clips has been shared with the FBI. And there's people out there that actually are saying things like, well, there's too many tips coming in. How are they going to sort through them? What does that even mean? So should people stop offering up tips? Now, obviously, if you're sitting around in your basement and you've got some

35:47kind of spirit box or you're consulting your ancestors about what happened in this case or you're throwing chicken bones and dancing around like a wild man. I'm pretty confident that I can speak for everybody when I say cut the shit. You're not going to solve this case. And while we might criticize the investigators here on this podcast, I am well aware that they are the best chance we have for getting justice here. But that doesn't mean we're not going to stay on top of it. Look, after what I learned over the last four years following the Jeffrey Epstein case and the Larry Nasser case, nothing really shocks me when it comes to ineptitude at the highest levels of the FBI. So given those past experiences, I'm a little bit more critical of the FBI overall as far as the bureaucracy goes. The most significant piece of evidence so far has been the search for a white Hyundai Alantra that was seen near the crime scene at the time of the murders. Police believe

36:48whoever was in the car could have information critical to the case. They showed a clip of where the camera was. So you can kind of get a good idea of what street that was filming. Gunsal, this set of the car, which was captured on a nearby surveillance camera. It would be suspicious. I would believe for a vehicle just to be rolling around at three in the morning. So I think they have good reason to talk to that individual and see what was going on during that time. Yeah, there's no doubt whoever was driving that vehicle. There's some questions that they have to answer. 100%. Now is the person or persons in that vehicle the murderer? We don't know that yet. But it seems to me that this is a very, very critical piece of information or that they could have a very critical piece of information. And with all of the hubbub going on and all of the publicity around this case, I have a hard time believing that there's somebody out there driving this Hyundai Alantra that just has no idea that this is all going on.

37:54Moscow police say they've identified more than 22,000 vehicles that matched the description of the Macon model and want anyone with specific leads to come forward. Monday, they said a white Alantra found crashed in abandoned in Eugene, Oregon has no connection to the case. Gunsalves said he won't stop trying to help authorities find the killer. I'm trying to do everything in my power to help them. And we're trying to collaborate with them. He said, that's a good thing. I don't know why the authorities would not be receptive to that. Now you don't have to give them inside information, but have a little bit of empathy. And from what we have heard, it doesn't seem like there's been much of that to go around. He also urged people online to stop sharing personal information about people that have not been named in any way as suspects. This is a good move too. If you're out there and you think that your inspector clue so or inspector gadget or some shit like that, you're not. Take it easy. Take a step

38:54back. Internet forums and Facebook groups are filled with people sharing unsubstantiated theories about the case, including names, pictures and private information. Look, if you want to share theories and speculation, that's one thing. That's the human mind. Everybody is going to want to know who did this, right? And everybody's going to have their own opinion on what they think happened. But when you start inserting names and you start doxing people, contacting people's jobs, all that other bullshit. What is wrong with you? Don't go after them. Don't take pictures of their homes. We don't want that. We're not after that at all. And they're not. That's the kind of shit that gets in the way. This is a grieving father. And if you don't have anything to offer as far as a real full on tip goes, you shouldn't be calling in with your BS spirit boxes or your crystals or mercuries and retrograde. Nobody wants to hear it. But at the same time, that doesn't mean that valid criticism shouldn't be leveled at an

39:58investigation that seems to not be going very far very quickly. So finding that balance, I think, is going to be crucial for Mr. Goncalva's and his family moving forward. And hopefully they'll find that balance and them and the authorities can get on the same page and at least get a relationship that is not filled with friction. And he went so far as to hire a lawyer to handle the communications between him and the investigators. There's no doubt that at times it was rather contentious. Mr. Goncalva is making statements in public and obviously he was grieving and wanted answers. But there were some out there who wanted to deride him, wanted to make fun of him and act like he was going to destroy the chances of ever arresting somebody in this case. And I thought that was loony tunes then and I think it's loony tunes now. None of us know how we're going to react if our daughter is killed. Never mind in a sensationalized

42:45story such as this. Then you go what 47 days without any answers, no suspect. And for me and you sitting here on the sidelines, it's one thing for us to say, hey, look, you got to have some patience. It's a whole nother thing when your daughter is not at the dinner table on Thanksgiving. I like to see how you react if it was your daughter. So that's why I wasn't so hard on Mr. Goncalva's and understanding about him speaking out in public the way he did. The man wanted answers. He was frustrated. He was sad. He was grieving and he wanted to know who was responsible for the murder of his daughter. Well, according to the authorities, now him and his family, they know who did it. And Mr. Goncalva's and his wife, Christie, they gave an interview to Fox News. So today we're going to dive into that interview. Steve and Christie Goncalva is the parents of murdered Idaho student, Kaylee said they feel lucky knowing their daughter's alleged murderer is behind bars nearly seven weeks after her death Tuesday on Hannity. And I can only imagine what a relief it must be to think that the person who is responsible is behind bars. Now, of course, I'd have the feeling in the back of my mind because I just have anxiety anyway that it wasn't the right person or what if he gets off. And I'm sure that Mr. Goncalva's and his wife, Christie, are going through a whole range of emotions right now. And I won't even begin to project what they're feeling because none of us can even imagine it. Never mind. Try and walk a day in their shoes. Nothing feels worse than having nobody and just nothing but doubt. In seven weeks of that,

44:52or close to seven weeks of that, that was a tremendous amount of pressure on us. Steve Goncalva said and you know the holidays added to it. And this sick bastard, if he is the one who did it, chose to do it around the holidays for maximum impact. Keep that in mind. You know, your children look for you to tell them what's going to happen and how things are going to go and you can't, you can't control anything and you just sit back and you just wait. And it's very hard to get over. And it's that feeling of helplessness, right? Being a dad, you want to protect your child, you want to help, you want to be there to step in and make sure nothing happens to them. And when you're not able to do that, you feel helpless. And that's how Mr. Goncalva's felt going through this because there was nothing he could really do to affect the outcome. When my girlfriend was diagnosed with breast cancer, I felt the same way. Like I wanted to be more active. I wanted to help more. I wanted to be involved, but you can only do so much.

45:54And Mr. Goncalva's, that's what he ran into as well. He wanted to do more. He wanted to find the person himself, but obviously that's not in his power. So he was frustrated. And you add to that, all of the grief and all of the just emotions that are running through him. And of course, he's going to say some things out in public and lash out at the investigators because the person responsible wasn't around to lash out at now that they have a suspect, however, well, as the child moves forward, I'm sure Mr. Goncalva is is going to focus that rage and that anger. Kaley Goncalva's Madison Mogen, Ethan Chapin and Zana Kernodal were stabbed to death at an off campus home on November 13th. The Moscow Police Department offered few updates on the investigation at times, causing critics to question if the small town force could handle the case. Look, I certainly was one of the people wondering if they were going to be able to handle it, but at the same time, I was also aware that they were our best chance of solving this.

47:00And whenever you have a small town police force that is dealing with something like this, you have to have a few questions, right? It's a show me type of industry. And what I mean by that is results. That means arrests. That means prosecutions. That means convictions. And up until this point, we weren't sure if they were going to be able to bring this home, but now that they have or at least they think they have, they certainly should be given a tip of the hat. Because when all was said and done and all the chips were pushed into the center of the table, they got the guy that they said is responsible for this. Now getting the conviction, that's the next chapter. But the police work here, at least as of now, seems to be solid. Steve Gonsolviz, who was critical at times of how the case was progressing, said investigators did a tremendous job. And look, again, Mr. Gonsolviz, he understands what's at stake here. And he just wanted somebody to be caught. And he felt that if he pressured the investigators, if he kept them on their toes, that that would create some accountability.

48:03And in the end, everybody wanted the same thing. And that's somebody to be captured here. Somebody to be brought to justice for these horrific grizzly murders. Quick, what's that for details? I think you know, it's never fast enough for a father. You're impatient and you want to know everything right then and there. But I feel good. I feel like they've done a tremendous job. He added. I know that they've been working hard. We just had a lot of holidays. These guys were working at a town. I really appreciate all the effort that they gave. I mean, there were times where I was tough on them. But I know these are strong men and women. And I know they can handle just a little bit of pushback. And we are where we want to be. And they put us there. So that's a very noble thing for Mr. Gonsolviz to do to come out here. And you know, say, hey, look, I know I was tough on them, but they did a tremendous job. And for the investigators, the police, they can hold their heads up high as well because they did do a good job here. Whenever you go and get somebody and bring them into custody and do your part

49:05of it, well, now it's up to the prosecution to make sure they slam it home. Hoshan Hannity asked what the appropriate justice would be in the case. Well, considering that this person went in there that night with the intent to kill and showed no mercy, unprovoked and killed our daughter, her best friend and their two friends. We are glad we live in the state of Idaho with the death penalty. Christy Gonsolviz said, co burger, wave, dextradition, and will be brought the Moscow Idaho to face charges. So Idaho definitely is a death penalty state. Will they go for the death penalty here? Will they get it? I don't know. We'll have to see how everything shakes out. But if I was the prosecutor, I'd be going for the death penalty here. If my case was strong, and I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I had my guy, I mean, if there was ever an instant where the death penalty should come into play, shouldn't it come into play when you murder four people? You're obviously a danger to the rest of us. You're never going to be rehabilitated. So what's the

50:08point? Keep you in prison, pay for you, let you write letters and have a fan club and all the rest of it. I'll pass on all of that. I'm usually not a fan of the death penalty and most instances, because I don't think the state should have the power to kill citizens. But in certain instances, such as this, there certainly is a discussion to be had about there being a death penalty. Because people like this, they're never going to change. This man went in there, according to the authorities in a premeditated manner with the idea and the intent to murder these four kids while they were in their bed. If that's not grounds for the death penalty, I don't know what would be. So if this doesn't go to the death penalty, why even have it in the state, right? What could be more grizzly? What could be more horrendous than what we witnessed in Moscow? Because that is some of the most gruesome stuff you're ever going to see. Four people in bed sleeping and so on coming in and murdering them like that. That is just beyond the pale. That isn't, you know, a robbery gone wrong.

51:12That isn't I had an altercation with you in the street. That is I sat around and I cooked up this plot and then not only that, I acted on all of my sick, disgusting thoughts that I premeditated. And that's what the authorities are saying. Brian Coburger did. So if that is the case and they get the conviction, I would hope that they go after the death penalty as well. Because somebody like this obviously deserves the death penalty if they're guilty of these crimes. So it's going to be interesting to see which way Thompson goes and see what the other families have to say because that does play into it. They'll ask the victims families. Do you think they should be put to death? I ask them for their input. And while it's not the final decision maker, it certainly does go into the decision making process being put together by the state and the prosecutor. So that's going to be an interesting facet of this folks as we move forward.
