Early numbers show its hit, over 83,000 downloads on iOS in the US, landing at the number 2 spot on the App Store charts. Now, compared to Meta's other launches, like Threads which saw over 4.3 million downloads on day 1, Muse's debut is a bit more modest. Even Meta's own AI app pulled in more downloads initially. And if you look at Chad Gpt's launch, it took Muse twice as long to hit the download numbers, Chad Gpt managed in less than a week. This doesn't mean Muse is a flop though. It's still climbing the charts, and the app is available on the web, and WhatsApp too, which aren't factored into these download numbers. Meta sees this kind of agentec AI as the future, a big bed for them.

It came out shortly after Meta agreed to a massive $18 billion settlement over consumer harms related to social media, and the company has a history of privacy concerns and finds. This could be impacting how consumers are feeling about handing over more personal data to Muse.
