The 22-year-old right-hander posted a two-and-three record with a 7.71 earned run average last

season.

Tong made a fast climb through the minors after the Mets picked him in the seventh round

of the 2022 amateur draft.

He pissed at three different levels in the past year, turning heads with his potential.

Fans and scouts often compare Tong's slight frame and over-the-top delivery to Tim Linsecomb,

the former Giants star who won two National League side.

Young awards.

That style has scouts excited about his upside, despite his build.

This spring, Tong got two starts and grapefruit league games for the Mets, giving everyone a look

at his stuff up close.

It was a big step for the Canadian-born hurler who prepped at a Georgia Academy to boost

his draft stock.

Now with Syracuse, Tong has a chance to refine his game in triple A.
