Spring training has the New York Metz buzzing with excitement as opening day nears in just over two weeks. After a busy offseason, players across the roster are shown strong results, giving managers tough but welcome choices for the lineup. Outer right field, top prospect Carson Benjay is making a real case for himself in his first big league camp. He's hitting nearly 400 with extra bass hits, while veterans Mike Talkman and MJ Melinda's are also off to hot starts with high on bass, percentages and power. Meanwhile, first bass is the log jam too. Switch hitter Jorge Palanco came aboard on a two year 40 million dollar deal to fill the gap, but Brett Beatty has been versatile, crushing the ball. And playing multiple spots, including the outfield. On the mound, the Metz might roll with a six man rotation for the first time in years,

staying healthy unlike past springs. Freddie Peralta and Nolan McLean look ready to lead, with David Peterson, Clay Holmes, Sean Manaya and Kodai Sanga rounding it out. With two more weeks of great fruit league games, bullpen spots are up for grabs behind locks like Devon Williams. Guys like Craig Campbell and Hawaskar Brazoban are pushing hard and decisions could shape the early season bullpen depth. This story is made possible by our sponsor, headphones and a pillow.
