Thank you Lord, we thank you for that opportunity to hear your word, we ask that you give us
0:42
insights to your word in Jesus' name, Amen.
0:47
Let's take our confession, Joshua chapter 1, verse 8.
0:52
This book of the Lord shall not departs out of my mouth, but I will then meditate on
0:58
it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it.
1:03
For then I will make my reposperous and then I will have good success, Amen.
1:12
On today's episode we'll be looking at quiet time, a specific time.
1:18
Our first scripture reading will be taken from some 119, there's 147 to 148, and it says,
1:26
I rise before dawn in cry out for help, I put my hope in your word, I am awake through
1:33
each watch of the night to meditate on your promises, Amen.
1:39
Mark 1 verse 35, Before they break the next morning, Jesus caught up and went out to
1:45
an isolated place to pray, Amen.
1:49
Quiet time, specific time.
1:52
In the last episode we learned that our quiet time we call is not just about consistency,
1:58
but having the right attitude, we discussed the importance of coming before God with an
2:04
expectance, reverence and unlethness, understanding that our time with Him becomes truly fruitful
2:13
when our hearts are prepared to hear, learn and obey.
2:19
In today's episode we will be learning about having a specific time for our devotion.
2:25
Having a specific time has to deal with when you meet with God and how long that time
2:32
The general rule is simple, the best time is when you are at your best, give God the best
2:39
parts of your day, when you are fresh and most alert, don't try to save God with your
2:48
Your best time may not look the same as someone else's, but for most people, early in the
2:55
Even Jesus made it a habit to rise early to pray and meet with the fire throughout scripture,
3:02
we see many Godly men and women who also rules early to meet with God, Abraham, most
3:09
nurses, Job, Hannah, Jacob and David.
3:13
However, the most important thing is not the hour you choose, but your consistency, whatever
3:19
time you sit, commit to it, schedule it on your calendar.
3:24
Make an appointment with God just as you will find an important meeting.
3:30
Make a date with Jesus and don't stand him up, it's too late updates, it's never pleasant
3:36
and our time record should be treated with honor and priority.
3:42
If you've never had a consistent quiet time before, start small, begin with 15 minutes
3:48
and allow it to grow naturally.
3:51
When you come before God, spend time in praise and worship, pray and read his word.
3:57
You may also use a daily devotional guide to help you stay focused as you mature spiritually,
4:03
the time you spend with him will increase, but most importantly show up, try to score
4:08
for a meaningful and rewarding time in his presence and you will never leave his presence
4:16
Our memory verse for today is Psalm 119, verse 97, how I love your instructions, it's
4:25
my meditation all day long.
4:29
Just kindly take care of prayer, love Jesus, we thank you for today, we thank you for
4:35
another opportunity to hear your word, we ask all God for grace to be able to help our
4:40
devotions and for grace to be consistent and not leave your weight in for us, we thank
4:47
you all God in Jesus name, amen.
4:52
God bless your family for joining in today's episode, see you same time tomorrow for another
4:57
edifying episode, please do have a wonderful day.
