Shalom family, you're welcome to today's Morning Glory Diversion.
0:26
Facilitating today's Morning Glory Diversion is Jessica Aholi. Let's kindly take a
0:32
bit of prayer. Lord Jesus, we thank you for today. We thank you for another
0:37
opportunity to hear your word. React to God. You speak to us in Jesus' name. Amen.
0:44
Let's kindly take our confession. Joshua chapter 1 verse 8.
0:50
This book of the Lord shall not depart out of my mouth, but I shall meditate on
0:56
its day and night that I may observe to do all that is written in it. For then I will
1:02
make my repose verse and then I will have good success. Amen.
1:08
So for the next three days, we will be learning about how to have an effective
1:13
quiet time record. And for today's episode, we'll be looking at quiet time,
1:19
proper attitude, quiet time, the proper attitude. Our first scripture we didn't
1:26
be taken from. Some 1 1 9 that's 15 to 16. And it says, I will meditate on your
1:34
precepts and think about your ways. I will delight in your status. I will not
1:40
forget your words. Amen. Some 1 1 9 is 97. How I love your instructions. It says my
1:49
meditation all the long. And some 1 1 9 is 146. Your words is completely pure
1:58
and your servants loves it. Amen. Quiet time, proper attitude.
2:06
Every new year, we set goals and targets for our lives. In one very important area,
2:12
we often focus on a spiritual life. We desire to know what more in the new year
2:17
and to build a deeper relationship with him. One of the best ways to begin this
2:22
journey, so that by the end of the year you can truly see good, is by developing
2:27
a daily and consistent devotional life. However, for this devotional life to be
2:33
consistent and fruitful, we must understand something very important. In
2:38
God's eyes, why you do something as far more important than what you do. It is
2:44
entirely possible to do the right thing, but with the wrong attitude. When we come
2:49
before go during our quiet time, our attitudes matter a lot. Having the right
2:55
attitude makes our time with the productive, fruitful and edifying. In today's
3:02
episode, we will look at 3 important attitudes to have when coming before God.
3:08
The first attitude is to have unexpected thoughts. Expectance means having or
3:15
showing excitement and anticipation that something good is about to happen. When
3:21
we come before God, we should come with ignorance and anticipation, believing
3:26
that we are about to receive the greatest gift of all time, that is fellowship
3:31
with him. Expect to have a meaningful time in his presence, expect to hear from
3:37
him and expect to be placed and transformed by the time you spend with him.
3:43
The second attitude is reverence. Revence means having different
3:48
perspectives for someone. When you truly respect someone, you are not
3:53
in a rush when you spend time with him. You are careful, you listen to them
3:58
attentively and you are intentional. You value every word they see. In the same
4:04
way, when spending time with God, do not rush into his presence. Prepare your
4:09
hearts, be still before him and allow the quietness to clear up with the
4:14
distractions and thoughts of the world. And the final attitude is a
4:20
lethness. A lethness means being watchful and attentive. In this context, it means
4:27
being spiritually awake and ready for whatever God wants to teach you. Remember,
4:32
you are meeting with the creator of heaven and earth, the Redeemer of mankind.
4:37
Be intentional with your actions. Make sure you are well rested and mentally
4:43
present. If possible, go to bed early so you can meet God with a claim
4:49
mind and a willing heart. Do not come to your quiet-time deciding in
4:54
advance what you will or not obey. Instead, come with the hearts fully
5:00
surrendered, ready to do anything and everything God acts of you.
5:05
Can't you meet the Lord with the hearts ready to be? Ready to listen and
5:10
ready to be in the matter of circumstance. Decide before hand that his will is
5:16
your priority. Amen. Let's kindly take a word of prayer. Lord Jesus,
5:23
we thank you for today. We thank you for that opportunity to hear your
5:28
word. Lord, we ask for grace to be able to come before you every morning to hear
5:35
your word with the right attitude and the right heart in Jesus' name. Amen.
5:42
And our memories will be taken from some 119-140. Your word is completely
5:50
pure and your servant loves it. Amen. God bless you so much. See you
5:57
in the next episode. Have a blessed day.
