Mary welcomes back Mike Gendron to have a conversation about counterfeit gospels and our response. Once we establish that the one true urgent gospel is the truth, that the church’s mission revolves around it, and Jesus gave His life for it, there is no room for counterfeits. And yet, in Galatians 1, Paul tells us with emphasis that there are those who, for whatever reason, are enamored of false gospels. What might be their ecumenical motives? The mischief that has infiltrated the world over a false premise and foundation for all truth, is incalculable. Galatians 1 should serve as a warning that we are not to take Paul’s exhortation lightly. The Catholic gospel of works as well is not the true gospel. The math looks like this: Jesus + Anything = Nothing. Why are pastors not warning about such things? How should believers live their lives in light of the schemes of the enemy to cause the church to embrace ecumenism as if it’s not systemically dangerous? A solid hour with a seasoned apologist.
