All right, you're just a just start off. I meant to do this the day, but you have a few injury availability updates

Cam Brooks and jay no neo wall be out for this spring

You know as as we look you know a couple of them, you know just

Looking at it you know do are expecting Jordan to be back here this summer

You know to be back and into in the workouts preparing for for what's ahead this year

You'll cam will probably be a little bit more extensive. You're probably gonna look at you know midway through the season

You know definitely you have a plan right now of you think about four games for him here this next year and

You know as he rehabs and continues to to get ready for what's ahead

You know was really pleased with with some of the things we saw from him early, but unfortunately

I'd be out for just a little bit longer period of time and then jay no neo will actually miss this this upcoming fall

So he'll be out

You know something that you came in with and you know we're able to

You start the process of for his rehabilitation and you know, but he's done a really nice job

You know getting in in the quarterback room, you know starting to start to learn

Doing a very very good job staying engaged and very active when it comes to that

But just want to kind of want to give you guys you know that as we started off

You know today was you know what you want from a first day and you know

You take all the walkthroughs you take you know

the meetings you you

The agility work that that we know we go to to do and you want to see a team that'll come out and you know

Take the information the installs and it worked to play fast and you know, there's a lot of

The detail things that I thought you were good

But still some some elements that we're gonna get to get cleaned up

You know now that we've you know transition from you know walk through you know getting in a formation

You know being able to have a call now you're out there and it's full speed and you're you know

You're working to you know to do things at great tempo and it still comes down to make sure we're getting a proper alignment

You know getting a great stance to taking them taking a good first step to put ourselves in position

So I thought it was those very productive first day

You know, there was some some shots on ball defensively and that I then I liked I think we're able to you know jar one one free

You know one of our you know young freshmen

You off it's a player so something they could definitely learn from you know, it's a couple a couple hands on ball in the deep

It's a backfield

You know, I thought the quarterbacks. You know really did a really good job. You know

You've been able to to go and have control of what we did today located the ball well

I mean there's a couple of explosive plays

You know, that showed up down the field

You know, but all in all that I think

It felt like it was a team that came with a good understanding today one and now we get to continue to work on the on the

The details of what's necessary

And going to get better you just in helmets. So I mean, there's very limited you you know contact at all

And so you know, obviously we'll build up for Friday to you know see the the physical element of it

But I mean, you know the guys move move move well and move confident

Yeah, you know, I mean really it's it's his his command control of the things he's being asked to do

You know, that's where as he comes in and this is really his fourth offense since he's been in college to have to learn

And so you he you know that is a

It's a good thing when it comes to you know a lot of things that you can fall back on there's not much that we're

You know asking him to do that's totally you know different

You know, then something that that he's done before so I mean there are some foundational elements that

That he can pull upon but now it's how we do it and and the finer details

You know where we want eyes, you know, you know, obviously the you know locations of reads, you know all those things

We kind of work together

You know, we've had some conversations leading into it of things that he that he likes

You know things that

That I've seen him do well on film and you know as we're as we're you putting all that together

You know some things are really really fit

That we and we knew coming in that would be a really good fit for for his skill set

So I thought it through the ball really well today

You know is able to locate it, you know, you could tell that you know those guys receivers, you know quarterbacks

I mean for the for the first day

And you could see the work that they've done on their own and so you they it was

It was pretty clean when it came to that and you know, he had a really good control. I thought he played fast

And you know as

What you want for first day

But but we've heard a lot

In the last couple of months about the

Under-I know Jake Todd some of those guys. I mean that how how much competition you think

Well, I mean there's gonna absolutely be some competition and you know, you look at I think the some of the young guys

That have been here that are that have grown developed. I mean you take auto you mentioned Jaden, you know Jonathan Daniels

You know

Sandman I mean those guys are I mean they're really pushing and we got some you know some really young guys that we're there here

Just we're freshman last year as well

Then I think you know have a chance to take a great step and so

Yeah, I'm looking forward to to that. I mean the guys have come in you know, they have they do have experience and whether it's

You know you take you know Paul ball and who's you know is as a true sophomore

But you know, he was able to play 12 games this last year and you know, you felt you know

You felt him as a freshman and and now he gets to you know take another step and you know

So I'm going to be really competitive with that group

But I'm excited about what what I've seen up to this point and you know definitely excited about

You know

Friday once we get to put some pads on and see see these guys

You're working to move people

No, I mean, you know obviously in practice. There's a you know, we do we script as an officer staff

And you know, we know some of the things that we want to to see you know, we want to make sure that we

Address and it's the same that it's always been you know since I've been you know calling offenses

You know, you there'll be times where we will go

You know series and just you know call it off to off the cuff and and there will be that'll be times or it's different

But you know Tim Tim the officer staff. I mean, I thought they did a really good job today

You know

I'm gonna be active on be active as a head coach. I mean

You know run and making sure that everything off as defense special teams looks a certain way

You know, well, we're in we're in those team situations. You know, obviously

You know very aware of all you know where where things need to what it needs to look like offensively

But you know also, you know, I want to make sure that you know for as a football team that we're

That we're playing the way we need to play when you communicate and the way we need to communicate we're finishing away

We need to finish so

You know, it's not that that

drastic, but I mean there are some some subtle changes

Already

Yeah, you know, I think when you look at a guy

You know, just does have a tremendous skill said to me his to have his size, you know

I think he's done a great job with his body continue to work his flexibility

You know, you see him as a guy that can be a great separator and to be able to

To be able to have the vertical presence of what he's shown to be able to do down the field

But then you know, the efficiency and the intermediate passing game, you know, you'll finish in you know

Finish in place. He's had some great contestant catches. You know, I want to see him continue to to grow in those in those areas

Because you know people are always gonna know where he's at and you he's gonna find a variety different

Coverages this year techniques. I mean, you know, he's got to

continue to to be efficient with with every movement to maximize his separation

To be a guy that could do even more, you know, postball and hand

You said two for one does only one for one

You want to next next up is Brenner

With she up to

You have with him and then with McCoy I think he's doing some tractor

This brings well opportunities for other guys

Yeah, no, I mean and McCoy was out today and so it was able to to get practice

You we're gonna be smart with him. Yeah here, especially early and early as as he's you know getting

The indoor or getting the track work you know coming off indoor now getting ready for the outdoor season

You know, but he was able to to get some work today limited limited

You know, we'll get I think most of practices this week will be kind of be a primary football focus

And we'll we'll pick and choose the places we're gonna put him

You with them practice, but you know, it's good for you know some of these young guys and you know

I think you know take LC as a guy. I'm really excited about bogs had a good day-to-day

You know with and without the ball in his hands. I made a couple plays. It was was was really good to see

the freshman

I mean, you know magic

Mallory was was he's been dealing with an injury a little bit

Throughout this early part of the season, but today he was he was back out there and ready to go

So it was good seeing him work

But I think all three of those guys were you know kind of what you want

Seen a step going into that second year and you know for

You know the really you know the young guys a method debit carder

You know, he looked like what I expected today. I mean it ain't some really good plays. That's you know show good speed ball skills

You know, that was a we have high expectations for him

You know Darion, you know, EJ. I mean you you you

You see the talent and ability now. It's just to you know getting getting into the

Details of the position and so I mean, but I'd really like I think that's a talented group

So yeah, I mean, it's say those guys are all getting opportunities with some with some open doors

You obviously jay you know Jason's finishing up with basketball

You know and hopefully he's you know

Not with us for a for a little while longer

You know, obviously really really happy for a basketball team of what they've done

But you know, he's he tries to be as active as he can do it and some of the things one-on-one

You know and buy him by himself just as he's preparing

Coach leadership is something can develop in the off-season spring practices

We've heard a lot of dudes on reality over the course of the guys that

You're seeing merges we are nothing so today

Yeah, you know, I think I mean, you know Daniel lines is is really done now standing job on that on a defense front

Daniel's been a guy that you know, he's seen it. He's done it. You know, Deontay McCray is another guy

You know, you got to you know, obviously just just hear twins

I mean, they've been working their butts off and I've been really proud of them

We really throughout this off-season program, but you know, you take those you know Deontay and Daniel those guys have seen

So much and you know, they are they have a lot of ownership in this in this group in this team

You know, I think you you feel the linebacking group. I mean whether it's you know guys that have been here OG

You know Blake, but then you know Chris Jones

You know McIbeyer. I mean those those guys have played a lot of football and you know, you know

There's an expectation and a standard which they bring

You know to themselves that you know, I think rubs off on on others and so it's it's good there and then you know, I really

You know, I think it's a real Q you know, even those guys are both those guys are limited here

You know, and what they're able to do here for the spring, but you know

Their presence and you know, what they've been able to do and accomplish

I think Ashton Barker or Ashton Barker has been as vocal

An active as as what I've seen of him over the last three years and I mean, I think he's

I think he's really putting himself in position and you know some of the newcomers that we've added into that into that room

I mean, I love I mean, I think you know, I'm gonna let them

continue to put it on film and you know

You're showcased what they can do especially when we get pads on and all that

But I mean, I really I really like that deep. It's a back fellow group and um, it's good to see them work

You know, I think and I you know, it's a good point of Tatum and what he was able to do with the group

But then you also saw the development of Kaelin Deloosh and as a guy that had been here

And he just continued to work continued to you know those were two great complimentary

You know guys for each other and you know, I think that's really what you know Makai

Chris, I mean, you know, I think they've got a great deal of talent. You feel them

I mean, they're their presence on the field speed explosiveness. I mean, they were you you felt them you know out there running today

But then you also see you know Blake who's come in and as played you know as as a true freshman

You see his growth OG, you know same, you know, he's had the ups and downs of all of it

But I mean those guys know it they know what it doesn't know what it looks like they they know the areas where they need to improve and I think they've taken

You're a great deal of

There's a great deal of urgency for that for that you know gross on them and I think it's a good group coming together

You see that in one day

Yeah, I mean, he's got you know, he's got length speed explosive power, you know, I mean last year towards the back part of the year

You know, he's dealing with injury that it hampered him and it was something that was

unfortunate because I mean, I thought he played at a really high level, you know, they're early in the season and then you know there's

some things that you know

You know, we're added challenges for him, but I mean he's I think he has you know great deal of

Flexibility of where he can align what he can do. I mean, he's a really smart football player

So I mean you'll be able to to have multiple positions that you can play and I mean anybody can line up in a position

But it's the owner's ownership of a position the call is a communication

You know, that's one of the you know, even in just smarter response like that's one of the things I've seen from him

That's you know night and day different is just his you know his verbal command and you know

He's not never been the most vocal guy

But I mean whether it's the meetings whether it's out there in the field. I mean, I'm hearing him

You'll communicate with his teammates, you know taking that active role

Which is something that we need you know within the within the entire group, but I obviously plan some of those different positions
