Kat, the saga is officially over.

We know that Zach Lomax, he is side a two-year deal with rugby Australia.

So he's rugby league career at the moment.

He's over.

Two-year deal.

Two-year deal.

And it's with the Western force.

So Lomax, he originally toured the force facilities before the Melbourne storm contract was

on the table.

So basically just after the R360 stuff had happened, he went to the Melbourne, I went to the Western

force.

He toured the facility.

All the talk was he was going to sign with rugby Australia then and there, which was

probably back in the November, early in December last year.

Then just before Christmas, it comes out that Melbourne storm of approach, his management,

they're looking to try to get him.

So he had a dream of playing for the Melbourne storm and he moved down there.

He was parading around on social media.

He was doing all these stuff.

Then the legal dramas happened, which was boom, wrist-sold couldn't do.

But now, Zachy Boy, he's got a dream of representing the Wallabies.

So he's signing off with a little bit of a dig at the NRL.

If you're going to leave, this is what frustrates me a little bit.

He comes out and says, like any player, the dream of one day representing the Wallabies

on a truly international stage and potentially competing at a rugby world cup is a powerful

motivation.

That just frustrates me a little bit because Peter Valandes at the start when all these

R360 stuff happened, there was a 10-year band.

He sort of wiped that, of course, because he wanted to get the best players back in the

game.

But then he did all the work he could.

The court's got in the road.

They couldn't resolve it.

Paramount, I wouldn't let him go to Melbourne because they weren't happy with the deal.

Now he has to go to the Rugby Union, which is probably his third or fourth plan, which

probably wasn't even on the picture a while ago.

And he has a little dig on the way out.

Like Valandes went in to fight for you, Zach.

Yes.

You've got to be careful with who you're going to pick your battles with, my man.

Yeah.

Valandes is in for the long game.

Oh.

I mean, look, there's a few things to this, like, well, you can take a step.

Step back with the power of Melbourne stuff, right?

Because I'm not a power of all Melbourne.

These are, I couldn't care.

And I can see why there's animosity there, mate.

That history, that's since 2009, that has been a real battle.

Obviously, Jason Royles now coaches a power.

So you can see if it was probably any other club, Zach could be playing for him.

But we lose the player of Zach's quality.

And I've said it from the start, you never like losing the best players.

But he wants to play in the World Cup, which is next year.

We know about, we know Zach with contracts.

That's what I'm saying.

The two of you means nothing.

So next year, I reckon he could be back in rugby league before June 30, next year.

He won't even make the World Cup.

in three years now.
