My name is Jim and I'm joined by my co-host Paul and today we continue our coverage of Monarch Legacy of Monsters Season 2.

Today we're covering Season 2 Episode 2 titled Residents. Hopefully we're getting this at ASAP for you guys.

Apple TV, thank you so much for the screeners. Paul, let's get right into it. What did you think of this episode?

Yeah, more setup, you know, I thought whenever they give us the shots of the Titans or the Moodos, whatever you want to call them, incredible.

Like just give it, people were asking for like a planet earth series of like just star wars, animals and creatures and worlds.

Give us like a planet earth documentary style about like these Titans and the world around them and I would eat that up on a heartbeat.

You could literally have Billy Kay and Lee just have their own show and make those flashbacks then it's like Pokemon Snap but Titans.

Oh my God, I would play that in a second. You just oh hell yeah right that down.

Yeah, this episode was good, you know, with the other characters too, we got some movement but not a whole lot of development with those guys.

Mostly just like monarch and the hierarchy of, you know, how it's operating stuff like that. So we'll get into it but yeah, I thought, you know, I'm having fun whenever we jump in with World of Monsters here.

Yeah, it's a fun show and I really do enjoy watching it and getting to know more about the lore in the world.

It's not like a lot of stuff happened in this episode. We got a nice flashback with the background on Titan X a little bit more of that.

And the present day was kind of more along the lines of let's chase Titan X and learn more about it and hopefully make sure it doesn't kill a lot of people.

But we'll definitely get into all that but my first question for you Paul.

Our girl Kate.

No consequences whatsoever for her actions here.

So we literally now let's just say we start the episode where we left last episode with Kong.

They just had to give us another shot of Kong being like, what the hell are you guys doing? Jesus Christ.

And you know, they're in the helicopter they get back. So Tim here is freaking out.

He literally says it in this episode last season. He was in the basement.

He does nothing. Well, okay, I'm sorry. Does nothing of authority.

He definitely thinks he was doing a lot because he was one of the only ones that actually was following Bill's footsteps.

But he does not believe or he didn't know he would be an authority, I guess.

And he's saying what happens now? Well, the deputy director is gone.

So you're the next one in charge. What do we do? And he's like, oh, Jesus.

And that is literally all they say about the deputy director being gone.

And there's really no consequences at all.

A little bit later we get the director giving orders.

And the one order is to detain Lee.

And the other one is file tight next. Nothing for Kate.

Yeah. So yeah, I mean, they took one look at her,

moping around the ship and they were like, ah, man, she knows she did wrong.

We don't need a punisher. No, I, I don't know.

I mean, she hits on it this whole episode, this whole episode is about her being upset with herself.

And feeling bad that she released this Titan, which I think she should feel bad.

And I mean, I think a lot of people, a lot of people would agree with me

that maybe it was a little bit selfish.

So I don't know. We'll talk about that more when we get to it.

But yeah, no, like moment of silence or anything for the deputy director there.

She was just dead and everybody's ready to move on except Tim.

Tim was the only one that was like, yeah, man, like give me a second. She just died.

Yeah, yeah. Tim's a good guy.

We said that last episode. It was a little sketchy in the beginning of last season,

wondering where he was going to go with his loyalties.

But as we got right around mid season towards the end of the season, of course,

we knew that he was going to be one of our friends here.

And, you know, he's pretty much sticking with that.

We start this episode with Lee coming in saying who's in charge.

And it's Tim and he's like, oh, okay, whatever.

Not listening to this guy.

And Tim actually does have, you know, and he argues with Lee.

There's a back and forth when Lee starts trying to give out orders.

And Tim's kind of fighting back here.

But ultimately, Tim is on Lee's side and he trusts Lee.

And he does not think he should be an authority, Tim.

And Lee does have a nice quote form later in the episode where he's like,

well, sometimes the greatness is thrust upon people.

And I think Tim is going to do actually really good with his authority role

as long as he gets a little bit of mentorship from our boy, Lee.

I mean, I totally understand why Tim is hesitant.

I mean, Lee just went rogue and blew up all of these risks

and went against monarch and stole monarch equipment and employees, basically.

So I mean, for it went pretty smoothly for Lee, if I'm honest,

if that's as rough as it got as one like tiny conversation,

that's not too bad.

You know, you said later on down the road and they do, you know,

Tim comes around and says we got orders from up top that, you know,

one, you were right in the first call of just monitoring and chasing.

So you were right there too.

They're like, oh, they also said to bring you in and detain you for questioning.

And you know, Lee, I don't know.

Like it seemed like he wasn't going to fight it.

He just put his arms out.

Maybe he had plans down the line because he always has something in the back pocket.

We'll tell you to get out of, you know, prison or jail or cells or whatever.

He's always got a backup plan.

But it seems like he was just going to listen to Tim and just kind of follow along.

So I had his hands out like, take me if you think it's the right move.

And Tim said, nah, man, got all jumbled up.

And I think you should stay in which is the right move, of course.

I don't know.

Tell me if I'm just making this up or if you were getting these vibes too.

But like season one, it felt like they were trying to really paint Lee as like the bad guy

towards the second half of that season.

I think there was the point of it where Lee seems like the bad guy, but he's really doing good.

I don't know, but it seems like they were kind of leaning in to him.

Being, you know, the antagonist.

But then season two, they realized, oh man, he's like Lee is like an integral character of the show.

Maybe we need him.

So like there's almost no consequences for going rogue and blowing everything up.

And I don't know, it just seems like he's kind of getting off easy.

It was definitely an interesting situation at the end of last season.

It's a shame we didn't get the podcast on it because yeah, they were painting him in a way

where he definitely was going rogue and kind of doing villainous things,

depending on where you were watching the show from, what point of view you were watching it from.

And technically I would say, or at least in his mind, he was doing the right thing.

And you know, that's not a great excuse because we all know that deal.

You know, you're at the greater goods and area whenever you villain thinks they're the hero of the story.

You know, all that kind of stuff.

I think that ultimately he thought he was doing what Kay and Bill would think is best.

Even though it was pretty damn reckless, pretty violent where a lot of people could have died.

But then you see the end where he saves Kate or at least he tries to make sure they fall together so he can protect her.

It's definitely a weird situation.

I think that he came off as like this rogue mercenary towards the end,

but I think it wasn't really supposed to be like, oh, he's the villain now.

I think it was just supposed to be like he's a he's dangerous and he's making his own decision.

But I think we'll find out ultimately it was the right move or something like that, you know.

Yeah, did you ever explain when he was trying to do blowing up the risk?

He's just trying to help the Titans, right?

Well, he tells Kate he was trying to help Godzilla.

Yeah.

And that was like the big thing.

He says, you looked him in the eye and, you know, I'm bringing you and telling you this because you literally looked him straight in the eye.

He's on our side and I'm trying to help him not destroy him.

And I guess the issue that they were figuring out was that I think he was just trying to close every single one.

And just, but I don't know.

I don't know.

You guys, you know the deal hit us up.

Let us know how we're how we're doing here.

But before we get any further, I totally went rogue on you Paul.

We talked about going I'm a little bit of a lead myself, right?

We talked about starting with the flashback first and I went right into the present day.

But actually, it is, it does make sense to kind of flash back here because we got a lot of our Titan X stuff in this flashback.

And I like seeing the trio together.

But the one thing that I will say here is that Bill, he must have, or Boyd Durs must have some major trust in his wife and his best friend because him leaving them and just deciding I'm going to go to the other side of the world and do my own thing.

When he knows that there's that tension.

I mean, he knows that really the story started with the two of them.

Lee and Kay having a little tension before Bill and her got together.

I know they're supposed to be best friends in this and that.

And I know they're also supposed to be painting the trio and the love triangle.

And we see a little bit of that towards the end of this episode.

But Bill makes an interesting decision here.

Kay is saying, I want to follow the science.

Bill is saying I want to do exactly what I've always done.

And I want to follow the folklore.

I want to follow my gut.

I want to start searching for Titan X.

I found a map in the cave.

I'm going for this map.

Sorry, bro.

It was there.

Let's go.

That was it.

That was a cool opening shot of him.

You know, back in the cave with all the fossils and the drawings of it.

And like, you know, they see even constellations and stuff like that.

So he quickly finds out that, yeah, it's a migratory route.

So we got to figure it out.

We got to chase them.

We got to go right now.

It's funny when he was standing there in the cave, just like looking around and all.

I literally could just think of the one character from Oracle.

You said when he goes in, he's like, damn.

What's with all these books?

When he walks in the library.

All these books.

Yeah.

It was all these drawings, like looking around the cave.

It's all I could think about.

That was funny.

But yeah, he's, he's like a man obsessed.

And I think this like childhood wonder towards it is like kind of what K respects.

And they even break it down.

He just says, like, I would never dismiss you.

But, you know, I need you to do what you need to do.

And I'm going to do what I need to do.

And that's why we work.

And I will say it was a little reckless of him or to leave then in a place where they were already kind of in danger with the locals.

But I think he was oblivious to that in the first place.

He was.

Yeah.

And another thing is it's back in the day, man.

There's no cell phones.

You're just like, hey, if I see you, I see you, man.

I hope I see you again, girl.

It's just such a weird scenario to be ready to leave like that.

Your wife just say, stay back.

And I get it.

I mean, I do get the K is saying that she really does love and respect the fact that he loves and respects her to take her own route.

But it's just have a little compromise, Bill.

If your wife thinks the science is the right thing, we're talking science here.

We're not telling your gut.

You can go follow the stars later.

Give your wife a couple more days, but I don't know.

Yeah.

It was, it was weird, but he's kind of just blinders on.

He's only really paying attention to finding this type.

But like you said, like, he's, I'm going to go tighten chasing.

I'll talk to you later.

Like, where do I even send a letter to?

That's crazy.

When do I see you or how do I talk to you later?

Are you still going to be here?

I don't know.

Figure it out.

That's wild.

People believe in the local and the bartender, which we named, we learn who name is Lucia,

kind of watch them go and the locals like it's too late for these two if they're staying.

It's out of our hands and kind of cuts.

We get another scene with K and Lee.

They're doing tests in a cave and we kind of learn more about K's baby daddy.

If you want to call him that, a Hiroshi's father.

How he was like a good husband and stuff like that and he was actually a

Doctor that died from cancer because, you know, he worked in and around Nagasaki and never stopped working and she was like a selfless man and stuff like that

Don't know exactly what that added to the conversation. She kind of brings it in and ties it in with Billy and how he's

so I think she was trying to say they're similar in the way that

They love their work, but her husband who passed away didn't have the same love that Bill had for K and Lee

Because she said that's not enough

Yeah, about her ex-husband because she's like he's a good man and we were fine and it was arranged and it was not a problem

We had a good we had a good marriage, but

You know it wasn't enough

Yeah, and at the end case like I can be my own person

I guess with with Bill and that's yeah, yeah, and that's me you know

I'm giving him shit because it's the 50s or whatever and I'm saying how you how do you know you're never gonna say you're again

And all this kind of stuff and you're just leaving her but she's respecting the fact she's saying

I'm actually mad at myself for being mad at him for leaving me because that's what I love about him

He has his passion, but he also understands that I have my passion and he didn't force me to come with him

He didn't say you better come with me right now or any of that kind of BS

He said okay, I trust you to do your thing and you're gonna do and I'm gonna do my thing and we'll meet back up love you

Yeah

Later it's crazy, but he did miss out on quite the party because yeah, he really did they leave the cave

They find Lucy and the local and they're like hey come to our party tonight. It'll be a lot of fun

So they show up everybody's dressed up

Guys pouring them wine

Getting them a little drunk trying to take advantage of them

And they get caught up in like dancing and everything they kind of do actually explain

The how the locals actually worship this God and you know how they need to like

Give him

Jackfices in order to appease and bring the the fish and stuff like that which in the beginning the whole thing that

K was trying to figure out is why is the water so full of nitrogen and I was a phosphate or phosphorus something like that

Phosphorous and nitrogen. That's what it was. So obviously something's going on with the waters and

So yeah, they're dancing and drugged and all of a sudden it gets crazy with the ritual and we see what that

Sacrificial altar was for they brought in a guy dressed like Titan Dex and then just get that blood out and

And draw that blood on everybody's forehead like to double pupil like it's palms on day

Yeah, so

Quick rewind here actually two quick rewinds first one is Bill was just wrong because Bill was like I think Titan Dex left

And I'm gonna go follow the stars and wow K wants to follow the science and thinks that Titan X is either here or there's at least the answers here

And of course within the next day Titan X shows up and bills off to God knows where so that's a minus point for Bill even though we love them

But the other thing is

They are starting to lean into this thing we were talking about this last episode

I was asking you if that if it's gonna be a thing this familial thing with

Kay could feel the vibrations when they were in the cave before the two

People from the town show up to invite them to the party she could feel the vibrations and she can hear something and

Lee is like I don't know what you're talking about what do you mean and at first?

She's like do you feel that and he's like I don't know what to feel at first

He's acting like she's saying do you feel that meaning our conversation and then she's like no

No, do you feel his vibration? He's like no, I do not and then

Like you said they go through this party this festival

I don't know if they were specifically drugged or what they did

But they're they went to Mars for a little bit and they're all wild and that but but Lee

You know, he's able to keep his what's about him a little bit and he's understanding to something weird's going on and then

The shark thing happens, but then before you know, Lucie it does say you know

She explains herself. She's like hey, we warned you we said

You should go and you didn't so now sorry, bro, and

This is another scenario where

Kay feels the vibrations and here's the sound way before Lee and she's like do you hear that do you hear that and he's like

I don't know what you're talking about and then finally the big vibration happens and he's like oh, okay

Yes, I feel that so later

Flash forward Kay is

Obviously in the is in the future. She's in the present timeline, but we have

Kate who can hear it and feel it but the others can so is that going to be some kind of again bloodline familial thing

where

There's some connection to these Titans

Yeah, yeah, I definitely clock that and I don't know if it's you know like you said something in their blood

Or if it's just you know, their family has such a close connection to these Titans that they're able to sense things that others have in or

Yeah, it definitely feels like they have an ability that others are slow to pick up on so is this

Like are they going to be able to communicate with them somehow just through understanding and knowledge because you know

Kate made eye contact with Godzilla that one time. Yeah, like the connection. I don't really know

But maybe that's what it was too, you know Kate and Kate both made like eye contact with Godzilla at one point

That was all it took so it's it's weird, but

My one thing is going to be with this we're talking about a show in the monster verse with Godzilla and King Kong and

Titan X so obviously I'm suspending my disbelief times a million, but

I'm going to need an explanation

Of how they have this connection to the Titans and I don't know what connection they or what explanation they can give us

That would not make me roll my eyes, but I guess we'll find out if they can find something

Because the way that they're making it seem is familial like it has to be

You know blood or whatever it is right unless it's literally just a coincidence that

Kay and Kate are just like the two chosen ones or something or whatever it is

Yeah, I need some kind of explanation

Yeah, and I don't know because maybe she literally just felt rumbling because in the ground and maybe she's just picked up on a first because

You know as soon as she feels it again after like the ceremony has been completed

You know they see the cave everything in the paint cave just pops out and it's a little parasites running out and all of a sudden Titan X pops up and

Again the coolest shots are just definitely whatever the Titans are out and about they give us one

Early on this episode of a whale swimming through the water and then tight next above the whale to dwarf it

Now it was just like that was like the shot of the episode for me

But yeah, I was like how does this cave is this a one-time

Cave from from last cycle that all these things popped out and break again because all these Titans are so buried deep within the earth

And I feel like they feel like they should be there for a decade

But I it's too hard to tell I don't know

I don't know

Yeah, and it seems like they obviously know it's coming and is this festival every single year

They make it seem like it's the new season every single year

So does the Titan show up every single year with the little parasite bug things and they're just under the ground and the cave the entire time

I don't know, but I

Agree with you 100% the shot of Titan X at the end of the episode was just

unbelievable and

It's the same scenario as first episode with these bugs slash parasites. They chase and run towards Titan X and you can kind of see

That they kind of like join on to Titan X. I don't know if it's supposed to be like babies or just a piece of Titan X like

You know, I don't know, but I don't think that they grow into a Titan X obviously because that would be a million Titan X's

But you know they they do latch on to Titan X and

Just like in episode one where a lot of them were skipping over Lee

To get to Titan X until Lee started kicking a few of them and then every once in a while a rogue one would jump on them

And then the one attacked them. They pretty much were ignoring

this version past Lee and Kay because they were running right to

Titan X they're that they have a directive and they're going for Titan X

Yeah, okay, that's a good explanation because I was like why aren't they

Attacking Lee and Kay at all because no in the future

They're literally just hunting around going to kill it just for killing sake is what I felt like no on the monarch ship

So I'm now I like that that makes a lot of sense and

Jets hysterical about will though. I didn't even think about that how wrong will was oh gotta go

We gotta chase it down and it's literally right there. He literally says I think it's gone

And I think it's been gone

It's just chill and they're waiting for like a day later to show up and I guess it's all

The Titan that is saw Kate and I'm sorry saw Kay and Lee just standing there because it swatted at them

Yeah, it did it broke it's what it broke the building down

But didn't swap and any other building so I guess the villagers just felt safe again

I don't really understand everything that's going on there, but it

Obviously didn't like being seen and maybe that's why all the villagers knows no to hide and lock the doors

Yeah, of course they fade the black at the end so we don't see like what's going to happen next I

Don't know what happens with this Titan X showing up so

normally if Kate or darn we're gonna that's gonna be a problem for this if Kay and Lee aren't there

The villagers just have their festival make their sacrifice go into their

Cottage is going to their cabins houses whatever close the doors lock the doors lock the windows shut them all out and

What Titan X well first the bugs has parasites come up

They run towards the ocean and then Titan X what just comes up and says what's good and then

Frustrating that K and Lee haven't just spilled everything they know right away from the moment that they recognize it was still there

I don't know why they wait to give us this information

Kevin TV show we need those flashbacks Paul you need to get a couple episodes out of them

And I don't know I don't know I guess so whatever

Okay, but I'd speak you know the flashback that is all there is for the flashback

We can kind of jump back to the beginning of where we left off

Last episode and to your point Jimmy. I don't know if it meant anything, but

We got our characters coming back on the helicopter. Lee is acting uncomfortable

Obviously he was just attacked and he was running and there was all these like different things going on

He just got through the portal, but he didn't feel good and I was thinking you know the bite me

It might be affecting him like like you were saying there might be something to it

But who knows and then when they land of course the helicopter

Has a hidden passenger this whole time the parasite jumps off and nobody sees it even a little bit

I know I know and I don't know the Lee thing

K reacts to him being like are you feeling okay?

And he says it's not as bad as last time talking about that sickness from when you go through the portal

So maybe it's just that and obviously he's frazzled from the attack and stuff

But yeah, it still could be but again

He gets bit again later in the episode

So now I feel like it's just that's kind of insult to injury

We just want to bite a million times and be like all right now. He's gonna get poison

So I don't know. Maybe it was just that portal sickness from when he went through and

You know, he was obviously there a long longer time when it ended up being 20 years in real life

And he said last time felt worse

And obviously K had to deal with it too and it felt worse for her

So his was a little bit quicker. So maybe that's what he meant

But you're right. I mean he was definitely like out of sorts when he was in the helicopter and landing

At monarch space totally forgot about the portal sickness. So yeah, that's a good

A good way to think of what was actually going on there

Um, and we kind of already talked about this next scene a little bit. It's kind of just Lee

Walking into the ship trying to figure out what's going on

We are in the south trying to see at the moment

We already know that deputy director is dead

Comes are down

Due to the storm

So nobody knows about the Titan besides whoever's on the ship and

Comes being down will come into play a little bit later and then doesn't come in to play a little bit later

Well, we'll get into that um, but one line that I just really like here

And I'm glad that they keep adding them is Lee is saying to Tim

You know if that Titan hits landfall. It's as good as another g-day and K is like what's g-day

Yeah, I love the consistencies there

It's so cool how she acclimates

But also is able to figure stuff out and give very intelligent responses and and it advice to

Everyone she's talking to while she's in this monarch base because of course when they start talking about the

Drone and stuff which we'll get into in a second. She's like oh shit

They started using drones and then she knows so and are of course, but she knows it's more high tech now

But she knows and understands everything and is able to give ideas because she's the goat, right?

She's awesome. So they do talk about

Tim and he is now the authority. I was hoping that he was going to say K

She should be the director kind of like what we talked about the deputy director

He doesn't bring that up

I don't know if they're going to keep them in a position of power or if they're going to bring the actual director in or if the person

From what's the apex technologies, right? Oh, yeah

If someone from there is going to come in and be a villainous director, but I still really like the I yeah

I still really like the idea of K becoming a big dog and

They start talking about Titan axe which like he said the storm knocks off comms

And nobody knows about this big dog coming through the ocean very convenient for the show and very convenient for us to

have some

drama going on, but

it's like

I

Don't know what I'm more what I would be more afraid of when it comes to these Titans, right? Like having

Titan axe be able to

Swim that fast go deep underwater, but seemingly can also be on ground like

Attack on ground too, so it's both

In the water and above the water when it can attack and if it's going to be a g-day, I'm assuming it could literally

Go into the cities and everything. I'm guessing we'll see how it does on land, but you know, and then you have Godzilla who can technically

Come out of the water and then con it doesn't seem like it can, but I don't know man

There's something scary to me about Titan axe that can just disappear into the water

and

You know like you're saying it dwarves a whale, but at the same time the ocean is enormous

So it can literally just go deep and you're like where the hell is it?

I mean, I know that they have it on radar so in our whatever you're you're looking at, but still it's just

I don't know man. I don't like that unknown thing where you can look down at the water

You don't know what's under you. Yeah, it's lasophobia or whatever. Yeah, man. I don't like that one bit

Yeah, well, I'm sure people are getting that a lot this season. It seems like the

What they're trying to push is like con versus Titan axe. It seems like is the the poster art for this season at least

So they're doing a good job of building up Titan axes

So Kong is currently on skull island and was protecting from Titan next showing up and was doing its best until Kate and them came along and screwed with it

Godzilla too Lee talks about it and g-day and all that kind of stuff was protecting

Speaking of Kate coming along and screwing with it

Yeah, we get a scene of a roachie and cantaro talking about what went wrong and how they released a Titan and how

You know, we should have never pressed that button and who hears this but Kate outside the window throwing herself a little pity party

She's like you blame me and in my head. I'm like, yeah, I blame you

I've been the world should blame you, but of course

Porosha being the good dad is like it was a mistake

We move on and she's gets mad at him for that. It's like that's just what you do you just move on

It's like oh my god. It's not the point right now. You're getting upset over two things and just mixing them all together

And basically her dad was like her roachie was saying

Look, it was my seeker that brought you here

blame me stop blaming yourself

but

Still, I mean

Kate sat there and pressed the button when her smart as hell grandmother and everybody else was like do not press that button

Yeah, she presses the button and unleashes hell so

You know, it's like good. She feels bad. It's it but I'm just saying I really did expect something like I expected

The director to be like you killed a deputy director. You're under lockdown. I don't know. I thought there would be more consequences for

Well, yeah, I guess the only people that saw her hit the button were the deputy director. He's dead

And then Tim and everybody else who's not gonna protect her right. Yeah, that's true. That is true luckily nobody has asked

What happened

Like what when they're on the base

And they had the helicopters come in with the deputy director and everybody

When we got back to base people said what happened and they knew deputy director was dead but

I was wondering if there was gonna be like you know cameras like you know, police officers have on your chest or something

So they could watch from the base, but I guess not because they'd have to get the information. So whatever, but yeah, they had no idea

I was laughing at this next scene because

She's running away or walking away and she bumps into this dude and it's just some random dude. I'm like

There's no reason to do that and unless you're trying to get our attention

So we can see him die in two seconds and of course two seconds later. He's eaten by the

Power site slash blog. They don't even show it either. They just they just salute to it

And if anybody watched alien earth we covered alien earth me

This felt empire

So much like alien earth it was just suspenseful and you know, there's a little monster there and you know that guys

We don't know what's going on fully with tight next and the little parasites, but it goes out and later

We see going through the hallways and blood everywhere

And eventually it runs indicate but before we get that we do have a few scenes with Kate real quick. She's just talking to May

May is just like yeah

We should have never pressed that button

And Kate's like hey, what the hell and may is like we don't want me to say dude like it's true

But we all did it again. It's just trying to take a blame away

Just from Kate. She's trying to say savingly. He was like the right thing to do

Mm-hmm

I mean and again, I get that

But still think there should be consequences if you don't listen

And people die

Totally agree speaking of no consequences

When people die

Case talking to Lee about Lee's kind of new leadership role

You know, we talked about how Tim kind of handed over the reins of because

He made them right call before he's probably going to make it again Tim doesn't know it's due so

She's questioning him about like why were you blowing things up and in season one and

He just kind of brushes it off. Oh, don't trust Monarch. They're another government agency

You know, they're just like the people that go through your luggage at the airport and she's like to go through your luggage for the airport

Again, I love that consistency

Um, and yeah, Lee just kind of shrugs it off. We just never answers the question really just yeah, I had to worry about it

I was kind of doing my own thing

And again, it's such a weird scenario where

When it fits they work with Monarch and then when it fits for the story Monarch or the bed guys and they're

Going against Monarch and it's kind of back and forth all the time and I understand that at the end of last season

They were against Monarch and that was the whole point where Lee was going rogue because he didn't believe in Monarch

And he was doing his own thing and then two years later

Cantar when Hiroshi seemed to repair that relationship because obviously it's Monarch on the base

With apex that are trying to save Lee and Kate etc

But it just seems like it's very back and forth like if Monarch doesn't agree with Lee or Kate or any of their

Decisions then they're the bad guys

And you're going off you're going astray from what Bill and Kay and

Lee

Created Monarch for so it it's just a back-of-forth kind of thing and there's a scenario where Kay says in this episode

She's like what's the mission statement for

Monarch and they say it and she's like those are Bill's words and

You know and that's when Lisa's we're following Titan X and we're going to stay close just in case and the other thing about this is a cracks me up with

These these Titans

It's

It's been like this since the beginning and it's like this since the world exists, I guess but they just chase a Titan

But they know that if the Titan just decided to like look at them wrong their dad

Kay kind of gave that speech and

It was weird to you because they had to make it you know tense where they were like oh

We can't lose the Titan because if it gets too far to reach them

We can't do anything, but our engines are just slow enough

Maybe if we push the engines to the absolute limit we can just keep up and I was I don't know it

unnecessary tension

For me, I feel like the tension of it already

Getting to the 14 ships that are there was enough you didn't need the everything else

But I guess you needed the ship to die later on when the engines fell so

Yeah, whatever

Yes exactly, but those were the words that were pills were is where you know

What is monarch's mission statement discovery in defense in the time of monsters and those were pills words

You know we tried defense at bikini asshole the only way to truly defend ourselves was discovery and uncovering the truth

So we got to follow it

again

Was that the right move who knows I guess so

I don't I guess it wouldn't have mattered if they followed it or not because a drone didn't work out

speaking of

That is Lee's plan he says he got anything armed on this ship he says nothing but a drone with a camera

And they talk about hey the Titan responds to subsonic sound you know sound lower than human hearing maybe we can mimic it and get it to change his course real quick

So that's what K and Hiroshi get to working on

And when they do that

And that's a little moment K's kind of being a mom again. She's saying hey, don't bite your nails and

They kind of have different views of how they remembered

You know will randa

Yeah, K here's his Billy would have loved all this and Hiroshi's like Billy was more at home when he was working and stuff like that

So definitely have a different memories of him

Yeah, and you know, we have to remember here after K disappears and after Lee disappears

They said Bill went very very radical and honestly he was correct because the radicalness that they were talking about was the portals and stuff and teleportation all that

but

He obviously got very very very obsessed and with Hiroshi being a child

He probably got neglected in that way

He was the only person he had left was Bill and Bill was probably always working and obsessed with it

So he probably does have that

you know

Not so great memory with him and then we obviously know too that

Bill dies

Doing his work and he says he's saying sorry to Hiroshi in his last moment. So

Yeah, yeah, I mean cake kind of hears that and tries to shrug it off

Yeah, didn't really work though, but we'll see there's so much other shit going on

They don't even have time to think about family matters right now. Yeah, right

Speaking of other shit going on. They got the drone deployed

Um, it was a cool line about K saying like oh, it's just crazy technology and Lee is like yeah

They're cool toys, but they don't beat experience and instinct which was hysterical because

That was followed up by the least experience and least instinctual fucking thing you can do Lee here

RIP do hoe from you know season one episode two three whatever it was

He says oh, yeah, Lee's the best pilot whether it's a on land or in air on the sea like

Trust him with anything Lee's an idiot here

He says get closer and grabs the joystick and pushes it down to eventually get swatted out of the air

So the most lazyest

Like what is this freaking thing and just swipes it right out of the sky

Tim just shakes his head looks at on me like I totally fucked up giving you control and power of all of Monarch here

Oh RIP do hoe. I wish he was back here. He honestly this might be mean

I think do hoe had more personality in his like two scenes than Kate has had all season but

We're getting there. We're getting there. Don't worry Kate. You're gonna have it

I always talk about it

Yeah, it's tough with Kate and I think it's going to come around and she's going to be our main character hero

But right now and towards the end of last season

It's a lot of just like you said she's feeling bad for her actions and the choices that have been made and we need her to become the hero and

Just do the damn thing so we'll see but yeah, I know we were saying man

But going back to Kate

You know, we see this little bug thing which you know, it's not really a little bug

It's still pretty damn big compared to people

And it's staring down Kate and Kate gets out the fire extinguisher and she can't unlock it at first and

She decides she's gonna use the fire extinguisher on this bug and how I don't know if that's unless that's its secret weakness

How does she think that's gonna work?

But then Kintar comes in and shoots it with the flare and Kintar and mayor there and

The gist of this is that they incapacitate it but

Eventually it releases the sound and that's the important thing for Titan X because Titan X

Ignores the drone swipes it away and is still heading in the direction of all those ships and all those people

but whatever that sound is

It was very very loud. It shook the entire boat everyone heard it and Titan X heard it

Yeah, Tony next hit a quick UB and was b-line in it right for the little rascal

Yeah, I thought I thought it was funny when

Kintar actually hits the little bug with the flare because you know season one

He has that moment episode speaking of rip2ho was right when doho dies

Um of like picking up the flare and shooting and completely whiffing on the Titan

But you kind of learned that it liked heating all this other stuff

But it was a good line from May saying like hey at least your aims getting better. Yeah, it wasn't they and

It was also funny how Kate originally runs to the phone and you know calls for help

Before she grabs the fire extinguisher, but the phone wasn't working

And then Kintaro

Radio's in to the bridge desk and the phones work and it's like hey, we have a problem

I'm like fly to the comms work now. So yeah, I don't I apologize if um

Beating down on some of the plot holes here, but it kind of I'm I'm guessing that I'm gonna allow

The comms to work because I'm saying I'm hoping that what they meant was like outside comms

Let's just hope that comms within the ship could be passable and what they really mean is they can't

Communicate outside because that's what they're talking about. We can't let anybody know, but I don't I don't know

And when Kate picked up the phone she hit the wrong button. Yeah, I don't know. Yeah. Yeah

So either way it it wasn't dead. It's wheeled and everybody's freaking out now. So

Might be reading a little too much into this, but all the chaos that's going on here. They're like. Oh, it's turning around

One of the ladies on the deck that she's the blonde individual who was able to pinpoint the Titan

she has a

Squid tattoo on her hand now in Jesus thing. She's a sailor, right? So you know a lot of sailors get tattoos about you know giant squids

Tentacle monsters

Crack ins all that other stuff tiny necks, but we yeah

We were getting the flashback this episode too of the whole villagers with you know the tattoos and the worshipping it

So in the in the back of my mind. I was like I don't think she's gonna just turn on everybody on the ship and just sacrifice them to

To appease the Titan, but definitely definitely clocked it

They're needing to be at some point

There needs to be a human

This is also the point where the engines die, right? This is the I'll we push it to the limit

so now the Titan is just be lining for it and we're just sitting ducks and

All of a sudden Lee's like I got an idea. So he jumps on a boat and but he doesn't tell everybody else because they got to keep the suspense up

So we have like

Hiroshi and Kay like on the ship and they see Lee going out and

um

This is kind of the the same instance where Kate feels the pulse in the water and yeah, yeah, it's the double pulse to and you know

They were showing the tight next is double pupil eye does that have anything to do with it

Seems like a theme. So we'll see again to the blood markings that they were doing in the flashback. It was the same symbol

So

Hopefully we're learning a little bit about that

But yeah to to end the episode this is a nice little

Almost sacrificial moment from Lee, but it just ends up being again

Hitting the waves in a boat to be sure dude radical it was not so it was yeah

He hit that wave or that tunnel and you just popped out the end like he was uh a

Seasoned pro that was yeah, that was Johnny tsunami every year

I was I always crack it up though when he goes to pick up the monster

It just like snaps at him a few times and it like it wasn't just easy as throwing him overboard

He was giving me again

I mean, I'm yeah, it got him again a few times and

That was what I was wondering you know, I guess tight next doesn't care

About the boat or the people if it gets it's a little rascal back

And you throw it back in the ocean and just make sure you're throwing it far enough away from the boat

So tight next doesn't really go near the boat and then I guess we're good

Yeah, it's it seems to really want them and and the final scene that we see is like you said before

It's all these little rascals on tight next skin and

You know are they the same Titan are they like hatched from tight next or is it just like a symbiotic relationship

Between these two monsters. I don't I don't know, but

It'll be interesting to see where they actually try to go next

Yeah, I can't imagine that the little rascals turn into tight next because that would be like a million tight nexus

But yeah, I like the symbiotic relationship or something like that that will have to find out what it's gonna be

But yeah, I mean it they literally just swimming attach right to tight next and

We've already brought this up we saw it in the flashback and we saw it in last episode

They just immediately just start running towards tight next when tight next appears

And I don't know I could just be over thinking this but

They didn't attack any

Sea creatures right while they were in there and yeah, it doesn't seem like they were attacking

Like the humans besides the one on present day on the ship like they weren't going straight for any of the villagers or

Any of Lee or K. So I mean it was it was funny to me Lee is literally just like picking fights with them

He's kicking him. Yeah, just like it away like

When they were in the flashback. Yeah, it wasn't even worried about pissing them off

You were just worried about getting them away from them. So yeah, yeah, it'll be interesting

And I just can't wait until Colin gets introduced again because I love whenever he's on the screen and it feels like we're kind of

Getting away from where he was on Skull Island, which is a shame, but I saw I'm also excited to

Kind of learn more about this tight next. So when we finally do get the big showdown. We know

What the stakes are and what it can do

Yeah, yeah, and I'm wondering I know this isn't a Godzilla show

It's monarch legacy of monsters. It's about all the monsters the Titans etc

But I'm wondering are we gonna get more than four minutes of Godzilla in this season

I know it's a lot about the human interactions and the human stories

But you brought it up last episode and we do want to see the monsters and we're seeing tight next something's got to throw down with it

Is it gonna be Kong? Is it gonna be Godzilla? Are we really gonna just have a quick? Hey, it's time for the throwdown

Godzilla appears or are we gonna get more lore with Godzilla within this story within this season. So

We'll see

Titanax maybe number two, but I think Godzilla's number one. I think I would agree with you on that

No, yeah, I could definitely was if Titanax has the little rascals with him

I mean, yeah, I could see him definitely overtaking

Godzilla or something like that especially even when they're in the water

I know Godzilla comes out of the water all the time

But I feel like you gotta give Titanax the advantage there, so yeah

At the end of the episode we saw Titanax come out of the water in the past

We kind of see its size and it's very but I want to see it next to

Yeah, Godzilla so we can actually figure out the size of this thing compared to Godzilla, Kong, etc

Um, I do think there's gonna be another throwdown between Titanax and Kong

Well, actually I wouldn't even call the first time a throwdown, but um, I think that they are going to have a throwdown

I think people have been talking about it

There may be have been something in the original trailer or something for season two

But there's a lot of people talking about they think Kong and Titanax will eventually throw down

So I guess we'll get the answer to that

But yeah, I'm gonna go with Godzilla. I agree with you

Oh, yeah, hope we get the answer later on when the author is quite

So they're going to have to immediately deal with Titanax as this next episode starts

And I think that will coincide with her explaining Titanax's deal or what they figure out about it
