A time of Lexio Divina for the discerning heart.
Monday of Holy Week As you begin, take a deep breath and
For the next few moments, surrender all the cares and concerns of the stay to the Lord.
Say slowly from your heart, Jesus, I trust in you.
Become aware that He is with you, looking upon you with love, wanting to be heard deep
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John, chapter 12, verses 1-11.
Six days before the Passover, Jesus went to Bethany where Lazarus was, whom he had raised
They gave a dinner for him there.
Martha waited on them and Lazarus was among those at table.
Mary brought in a pound of very costly ointment, pure and ard, and with it anointed the feet
of Jesus, wiping them with her hair.
The house was full of the scent of the ointment.
Then Judas the Scariot, one of his disciples, the man who was to betray him, said, why wasn't
this ointment sold for 300 denari and the money given to the poor?
He said this not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief.
He was in charge of the common fun and used to help himself to the contributions.
So Jesus said, leave her alone.
She had to keep this scent for the day of my burial.
You have the poor with you always, you will not always have me.
And while a large number of Jews heard that he was there, and came not only on account
of Jesus but also to see Lazarus whom he had raised from the dead, then the chief priests
decided to kill Lazarus as well, since it was on his account that many of the Jews were
leaving them and believing in Jesus.
What word made this passage come alive for you?
Did you sense the Lord saying to you?
Once more, give the Lord an opportunity to speak to you.

What touched your heart in this time of prayer?
What did your heart feel as you prayed?
What do you hope to carry with you from this time with the Lord?
Let us now close with the prayer to the Father that Jesus gave us.
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
and earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass
against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Let us now close with the prayer to the Father and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive our trespasses as we forgive our trespasses.
