First rehearsal! Next rehearsal! Upcoming shows!
So the first rehearsal of Jacket Little Pill was a read-through of the script and it went pretty well.
It was first time meeting the cast and seeing all the people and they've got a bunch of different, you know,
as you would expect, it's a big cast.
A lot of high school aged folks, because that's what's in the show. I mean some of them were in their 20s playing high schoolers, but you get it.
The only thing I thought was not good at that initial read-through was I realized I am either the oldest person of the cast
or the second oldest person of the cast. I think the oldest, but I'm not sure.
Also, the character I'm playing is 45 and I'm 45, which is such a long walk from when I was playing a 25-year-old.
Playing my age is very demoralizing.
Also, the script describes me as, like, clean cut and corporate-looking.
Whatever script.

You may hear some Beethoven happening behind me now.
It's hours since I recorded the intro. I don't know what happened after I recorded the intro.
I just stopped recording and got distracted and moved on to other things.
And now many hours later, I was like, hey, I started an episode and never did anything.
Liam is playing and practicing lots of Beethoven of his own volition, because he has his eyes set on potentially breaking a world record about playing all of Beethoven's sonatas in a given amount of time.
Somebody has done it. Liam thinks he can do it faster.
So he's teaching himself all of the sonatas.
That kid likes music is, I guess, what I would say.
I did another improv training this week back at Carmine's restaurant for their parent group, and it was a ton of fun.
And I love the fact that they brought me back, right?
I did one with him a year ago, and then they said, we want to do it again.
And they opened it up first to people who had been to the first one.
And they took 95% of the spots, which meant people wanted to see me again, which is cool.
And that was a good time.
And they were a little more reluctant to participate this time.
It still went well. I was pleased they were pleased.
But at the end, I was talking to the CEO of the one who hires me and I was asking her, what do you think it is?
They were so into it last time.
And this time they were more shy, a little more nervous about coming up.
And she was like, well, earlier today, before you came, we talked about really difficult topics.
And that was over the middle, weird headspace.
I was like, oh, okay, well, maybe next time you do the improv thing first.
But really, it didn't go quite well.
Yesterday, I got to see the final dress rehearsal of a local show that some friends of mine are in and or involved with.
And it was great. The show's eight misbehaving, which I had never seen before.
This weekend, I'm seeing several friends, too many friends in Jesus Christ superstar, which candidly, as they know, is not my favorite show.
So I'm not like relishing the opportunity to go see that show because I don't care about the show, but it's fun to support friends.
And it's directed by the director who directed. That's a fun sentence.
It's directed by the director who directed the same time next year.
So I get to support him, too, and a bunch of friends around the cast.
I don't think I have any comedy sports this weekend, which is a welcome change only because I've had a lot of comedy sports recently.
Lauren has a bunch of nine to five.
There's a goal that she's in.
And it's kind of funny because she has a brush up tonight.
Usually, you do a brush up on a Thursday because you'd have a show on a Friday.
But for whatever reason, her theater doesn't have a show tonight.
So they're doing the brush up.
That's when you do an extra rehearsal in between shows since it's been a week since you did.
And then she has three shows all weekend long.
And I have my second rehearsal for Jackie Lopez.
It's a healing family rehearsal.
So the group of us were in the family.
It was also funny when I was at that rehearsal learning that I was the oldest, etc.
Because they were saying, okay, here's the next couple of rehearsals.
And it turns out it was all just for us family members in the show.
And she listed one of the dates, which is I think April 4th.
And I said, oh, well, I have a lot of conflicts in that day.
She's like, no, you don't.
And I'm like, no, I definitely do.
I have three shows that day.
And she's like, I don't think that's on the list.
And then she's actually like, oh, no, that's on the list.
I just messed up.
And then they're like, what are the three shows?
I'm like, well, I'm doing this Sherlock Holmes thing twice.
And then I have a comedy sports show.
And they were asking, what's the Sherlock Holmes thing?
And so I was explaining.
Let the record show, even though I don't usually edit the show a time,
I did just edit it out, age, I can't take sneeze.
Even though I pushed my face away from the microphone when I did it,
I didn't make you listen to it.
Anyway, I explained it to the Sherlock Holmes show.
I can't where if I've told you, my dear,
you're daily like, listen, there's bad.
But I'm in this Sherlock Holmes show.
There are two shows in the same day.
There are two different stories in these shows,
like two different mysteries to solve.
And I'm the only one who doesn't know anything.
The cast knows the script and knows what's going to happen.
And I know nothing.
There are no rehearsals for me.
There's no prep for me.
I just come in and advise Sherlock Holmes.
So I truly have no idea what to expect,
and what that'll be about.
And I was describing all this.
And one of my other castmates from the show,
my Frank Caroline was like, that sounds like my nightmare.
Are you serious?
That's what you're doing?
My nightmare.
No, I think it'll be fun.
It'll probably be fun.
I have at least a couple of friends who've seen
other folks do their show already as the other Sherlocks.
And they said it was great.
So no pressure, I guess.
Anyway, that is my weekend.
I hope you had a wonderful week.
And that you have a great weekend ahead of you.
My kids are now off next week,
and I'm not.
So I'm a little jealous of the two younger ones.
But it's fine.
Everything's fine.
At least I'm making money.
All right.
Goodbye.
Happy Friday.
