MSNBC Reveals Major Anchor Shakeup, Jacob Soboroff Anchors West Coast Show

MSNBC is shaking up its weekday lineup with some big anchor moves.

Stephanie Ruhl is shifting to a two-hour show starting at 9 a.m.

Eastern Time and Alicia Menendez will take over at noon.

Ali Velshi steps in for Ruhl's old 11 p.m. slot while Luke Russell joins the

Mone Sanders Townsend and Michael Steele on the 7 p.m. weeknight program.

Morning Joe is trimming down to three hours from 6 a.m.

Cutting one hour at the Networch request, it was the show's own call.

Two daytime anchors are out.

Anika Breyer is departing and Chris Jansing moves to chief political reporter.

The 11 a.m. hour remains open for now, with full changes rolling out in June.

Meanwhile, weekends get a boost too.

Jacob Sauberoff will anchor two three-hour blocks from Los Angeles, marking MSNBC's

first program based out west.
