Murder In Moscow: A Trip Around The Headlines In Moscow On November 22nd 2022

When we last left off, we were talking about the press conference that the Moscow police and the authorities helping with the investigation gave on Sunday afternoon. The authorities gave us a little bit more information, but nothing to really sink your teeth into. They did rule out a couple of people trying to quell some internet rumors. So we talked about that a little bit and we got caught up on where the investigation currently stands. And unfortunately, it would seem like there's not much to go on. Now, of course, the police are holding information back. They're not giving the public everything they know. So my guess is they're working behind the scenes on some other leads and some other, you know, bits of information that they haven't revealed to the public yet. That's how it usually works. Now, if that's not happening, then I don't even know what to say because if that's the

1:00case and they really have nothing behind the scenes either, then we're in a place here where there's really no answers whatsoever. They're ruling people out like the kid who was called nine times saying that they went back and they cleared those phone calls, whatever that means. So we got to go with what they have to say, right? So got to rule that kid out, rule him out with the u of her driver who ended up being a personal driver. The kid by the truck, he's out. So where are we? As far as anyone that could be a suspect seems to be out the window according to the official investigation. So what do they have? What are we left with? Is this some kind of situation where this is a crazy drifter type of dude? There was a recent report in the same town about three miles away from where this happened of somebody having their dog skinned. So we know that serial killers and sickos, they kill animals, right? So some people are making those connections. Personally, I don't know if there's a connection there, but anyone who's doing that to a dog is certainly a sick

2:05bastard who needs to be looked at and arrested for damn sure. But do I see any connections there? I don't a bit loose, but nothing where you look at it and say, oh, yeah, this is the same person. It's an uncomfortable thought to think that there's multiple sickos out there, but in every single city in this country, there are. You know what? I'll take that a step further. Every single city in this world, there are sick people out there. Maybe some people just harbor these thoughts and don't act on them, but there are a lot of people who do act on them. So whoever did this is one dangerous sick individual and they need to be captured and they need to be captured soon. So with that said, let's get an update and see where we are this morning as far as the investigation and what might have happened overnight. Law enforcement officials are seeking surveillance footage from two areas of interest in the city of Moscow as part of the ongoing investigation into the murders of four university of Idaho students. So they're doing their best to rebuild every step that these kids took this day. They're going to go through every bit of it and try and put together footage, right? Build that foundation we were talking about and to do that, you have to go through all of these surveillance cameras, personal, private, public and rebuild everything. So it's starting at step one for these forensic investigators. Kaley Gondkovis, Madison Mogen, Zanakur nodal and Ethan Chapin were stabbed to death inside the home the three female students shared in the early hours of November 13th. Two fellow housemates

4:13were in the home at the time but were unharmed. More than one week on from the killings, investigators continue to be baffled by the case with no arrests made and no suspects identified. In a press conference on Sunday, police urged members of the public to come forward with any tips or footage in parts of the city between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. on November 13th. They have not released the reason for the particular window of time. Well, pretty safe to say that this is the time where this went down, the time frame when this happened. And then somebody obviously leaving or going from the premises, they want to try and get that video footage. Try and see if anybody was suspicious, somebody that a place, you know, somebody sneaking in, whatever it is. New details have also emerged about the 911 call, alerting police to the quadruple murders. Other friends were present in the home when the call was made from the cell phone of one of the surviving roommates, police said. So we're still going to need a lot more information about all of this.

5:14The phone call, the friends being over. Now, obviously, the police have ruled these girls out as suspects. So that's not even what I'm talking about. Just in general, the story, right? There's so many holes in the timeline, so many holes in what happened. And there has not been any clarity whatsoever by the police or the authorities or anybody. Now again, I understand that they're protecting the integrity of the investigation and that has to be done. But they have to try and, you know, at least give the public a little something, especially the locals up there to either a bring them some comfort or b to let them know what the real deal is here. Is it a targeted attack and you think it's a crime of passion? Do you have evidence of that? Or did you just shoot off at the lip early on and you don't have evidence of that? My guess is they don't have evidence of that, but they were going on, you know, the statistics, statistics say like 95% of the time it's going to be somebody that you're close to who does this to you. So obviously when you're operating as an investigator, those are the people who are looked into

6:19first, the people around you, your boyfriend, ex boyfriend, and that's how these investigations usually crack off. But with the lack of knowledge here and with us getting, I mean, meaning the public getting very little from the authorities, everything has to be on the table. Police cannot say if they believe one of the victims was the intended target. Police were remaining tight lipped about whether or not one of the four victims was the intended target of the quadruple homicide. Moscow police chief James Fry doubled down on their belief that the attack was targeted during Sunday's press conference, but would not confirm whether or not they believe one of the individuals was the main target. So you just open yourself up to more criticism as the police chief here. If you're going to bring up the fact that they're targeted, you should have some more context about that. We believe they're targeted because we take the totality of all the circumstances we're looking at said Moscow police chief James Fry. Do we know any one person was targeted? We're not able to say at this point in time due to our investigation.

7:24My guess is they do know and they're just not letting anybody else know. The four victims were killed on the second and third floor of the home. Two other roommates were home at the time and were unarmed. Police have said from the start that the attack was targeted. And now chances are that it was right, but what led them to believe that it was targeted and not a random attack because they've really been focused on this being a targeted attack, a crime of passion. But could they be missing something? Did they have tunnel vision here maybe and it could be something completely different? Look, I don't know. All I'm saying is there's not a lot here to go on. He stumped around house or vibing roommates slept through the violent knife attack. Yeah, they're not the only ones. I mean, I tried to come up with some scenarios, even in the last episode about, you know, partying, having some headphones on maybe, being absolutely drunk. And I could see that as being something that happened. I know I've been there before. When I was younger, I'd go out and party, I'd come home literally would not be able to move. So hungover drunk. Last thing I wanted to do

8:29is get up, but I don't know these people personally or their lifestyles or anything like that. So that could definitely be the thing. They said that originally they were sleeping and didn't get up until the time that they called 911. So my guess is and just to guess, they were probably drunk or hammered from the night before and just didn't hear anything as crazy as that sounds. I guess that's where we're at. Kalee gone call this medicine mogen, Zanakar nodal and Ethan Chappin were stabbed to death inside a home in King Road, Moscow in the early hours of the morning on November 13th. The coroner said that they were stabbed multiple times, each with a large knife, and were likely sleeping in bed when the attack unfolded. Their bodies were found on the second and third floors of the three-story home. Goncalva's and Mogen had spent Saturday night at a bar in downtown Moscow, while Kernodol and Chappin attended a sorority party on campus together. All four victims returned to the home at around 145. The three female victims live inside the home

9:32close to the university campus along with two other female students. Police said that the pair were also in the property at the time of the killings having returned to the property at around 1am. Not long before the four victims also returned home, so everybody was out having a night out. The two surviving roommates come home earlier about 1 o'clock, go into their room, and again, this is according to the official story so far. They go into their room, lock their doors, they don't want to party that night or whatever the hell it was. So they go in and lock their doors, and I'm guessing they go to sleep, then they wake up in the morning and they wake up to this scene. That's what the investigators are telling us so far. Now, obviously there's still a lot to be filled in before we go from A to B here, as far as what happened that night. We only have a very bare bones minimum idea of the scenario. And that's because again, the cops are keeping things close to their vest. The 911 call was not made by the killer, says officials. The 911 call,

Police said officers had responded to a report of an unconscious individual at the property and turned up to find the four victims stabbed to death in the brutal attack. See, this still doesn't make sense to me either. Now, I'm trying not to let my mind wander and I'm trying to just, you know, go off of what the official police report says here. But how are you going to call and say it's somebody unconscious when we hear about how gruesome the crime scene was. There was no blood splatters. You didn't see blood on the floor. An unconscious person. See, I don't understand that either. We're going to need more clarity and hopefully we'll get that eventually. But as of now, none of this makes sense. Literally none of it makes sense. More than one week on from the killings, police are still refusing to say who placed the 911 call

11:40or why they refer to an unconscious individual given the brutal nature of the crime and bloody state of the crime scene. So that's the question we all have I'm guessing. And most of you who have emailed me to talk about this case have had pretty much the same concerns. There's a lot of gaps in this timeline and just a lot of things that do not make sense. And especially with the commentary from the police, them ruling out everybody basically that you would think would be close to being a suspect has been ruled out. So where does that leave us, right? Do the police know more than they're saying? Probably do they have a suspect? I don't know. Police admit, they're stumped, surviving roommates slept through the slangs. Yeah, so are we all. Investigators have admitted that they're stumped how the two surviving roommates managed to sleep through the brutal slangs of their three roommates and roommates boyfriend. Police said the pair were also home at the time of the killing, having returned to the property at around 1 a.m. Not long before the victims arrived. The pair were unharmed in the violent knife attack and appeared to have slept through what happened. And again, look, I'm trying to rationalize here, folks. And I'm trying to think to myself how that this could be how this could even happen, sleeping through all of this. And for me, the only way is if they were drunk from the night before and passed out that way. If that's not the case, I have no idea how they could sleep through something like this. I mean, I guess we can go with the scenario that since they were sleeping, they were caught off guard and didn't have time to make noise while they were were killed. I guess that's a possibility. Look, I'm not a forensic expert. I'm not an expert on crime scenes or how this stuff happens or how people react when they get stabbed.

13:41But I can tell you this, what we do know and what we're hearing really doesn't make much sense to me. A 911 call was made from the property at 1158 on Sunday from the cell phone of one of the roommates reporting an unconscious individual. In a press conference on Sunday, police said that the surviving roommates did not wake up until later that morning. When pressed about how the two women managed to sleep through the violent stabbing of foreign individuals, officials admitted it is something investigators are also struggling to understand. I don't even know that information at this point in time said Chief James Fry of the Moscow Police Department. That's why we're continuing to investigate. So this whole situation with the roommates is very, very confusing. And until we get more context on who made the phone call, why they said it was an unconscious person as opposed to somebody who's dead. Look, that's another thing that I just can't come to grips with here. If you walked into that

14:43room and you saw this gruesome bloody scene, why would you call and say there's an unconscious person? So we're going to need to have some explanation for that as well because as of now, this shit is all too weird. And there is not enough clarity, not enough answers. And I can understand why the families are freaking out about what's going on here. Investigators search wooded area behind the victim's home. Investigators working to solve the horror case of the four murdered Idaho students have been spotted searching the wooded area behind the victim's home. Photos taken on Sunday show local and federal law enforcement officers scouring through the bushes at the back of the property on King's Road, Moscow for any clues as to the brutal crime. The search teams were reportedly working on the theory that the killer could have hidden in the woods watching the home before striking. Yo, if that's the case, then are we dealing, like I said earlier, are we dealing with a legitimate psychopath killer? Not somebody who was enraged by a crime of passion, not somebody

15:48who was mad about, you know, some sort of beef with these girls or with Ethan, but instead, somebody who had nothing but murder on their mind the whole time and was actually like spying on these girls. That's like right out of a movie. That's like some red dragon shit. Now, I'm not saying I buy into that, but you know, there's a lot going on here and with the police investigation, turning up, but gives pretty much everything has to be on the table and these investigators, especially they have to go through the checklist, even if things sound absurd, they have to go through that checklist and make sure that that's not what happened. And it's going to be a time consuming process unless they get a break, some sort of evidence pops up, they get some sort of tip from somebody and a lot of times that's what happens. But so far, eight days into this, we're pretty much at square one and any time that we seem to get some movement,

16:53you know, the nine phone calls, certainly seem like something that was going to be crucial here, turns out not to be the personal driver driving them home. Nope, not that guy. Oh, the guy by the uve by the food truck, that has to be it. Nope. Sorry, not him. So everything that people thought might be a lead or might be crucial has turned out not to be in this case. So I'm expecting more craziness throughout the days as this case continues to evolve and they continue to search for who did this. So we'll be here cataloging it every step of the way. We'll have some more updates today. As far as this case goes and of course some other things going on as well.
