Today we're gonna hop right back into some of the headlines from overnight and see where things currently stand as of this morning. And to do that once again, we're going to use the independent author of this article is Rachel Sharp. Idaho murders update. Brian co burger appears to have no connection to student victims.

2:30Brian co burger is accused of murdering Kayleigh Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Zana Colonel and Ethan Chapin in Moscow, Idaho, on November 13th. And I think we have to remember with that that there's no known connections. That doesn't mean that later on we're not going to hear about connections that they had maybe, you know, strangers in the night passing, but at some point, one or more of these girls came on Brian co burgers radar. And according to authorities that led to their murder. So the question becomes where did they run into Brian co burger originally? How did he even find out about these girls and what those connections are? And so far, we haven't heard anything from an official source that would lead us to believe that they were connected in any way. In fact, we've heard the complete opposite. So while we usually have a situation like this where the person responsible for the murders is somebody in the orbit of the people

3:31who are killed. This looks like something different where Brian co burger was aware of them, but they weren't aware of Brian co burger. The four University of Idaho students murdered in an off-cap his home in Moscow, Idaho had no known connection to their suspected killer Brian co burger. According to an attorney for one of the victims families, no one knew of this guy at all. Shannon Gray, who represents the family of victim Kayleigh Goncalves told business insider. Mr. co burger, a criminal justice PhD student at Washington State University is charged with the murders of Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Zanneker nodal and Ethan Chapin. The four students were found stabbed to death back on November 13th with the affidavit revealing that a surviving roommate came face to face with the mass killer inside the home in the early hours of the morning. Throughout the seven week investigation that followed, Mr.

4:33co burger continued with his studies at nearby Washington State University. Classmates have now revealed that they noticed the change in behavior from the suspect with the usually chatty fallen completely silent when the killings were discussed in class. And again, if you just look at that on its own, no big deal, right? But when you look at everything in the totality of what we know, it all looks real bad for Brian co burger on November 30th, the 28 year old was arrested at his family home in Pennsylvania. He is scheduled to next appear in court on January 12th for his status hearing. Victims family plans to set up foundation in our honor. The family of murdered student, Kayleigh Goncalves, is planning to set up a foundation in her memory. And I think this is the best way to honor somebody who has died setting up a scholarship fund in their name to help other people moving forward. That is certainly something that you would like your

5:36legacy attached to, right? And I think it's very cool for the family to do that because what it's going to do is provide help for other people, going to provide, you know, resources for other people. And for the family, they're not going to let Kayleigh be known as just somebody who was murdered. They're going to have her legacy live on forever with this foundation. And I always think it's a good idea when I see families do this like with Gabby Petito's family as well. I think it helps the families heal. When you're feeling like you're doing something as far as pushing the envelope further and pushing the conversation to a new place, a lot of times what it does is it gives the remaining family a sense of purpose and something to pursue as far as the legacy of their loved one. So this is really cool to see that they're doing this for Kayleigh. Goncalves sister, Olivia Goncalves told news nation that they're in the early stages of launching a foundation to honor the 21 year old. Now that a suspect has

6:40been arrested for her murder. Ms. Goncalves said that she and her family can finally begin the grieving process. We still have such a long road ahead of us, the relief that we all felt having a suspect in custody was I can't even describe it like the weight of the world was lifted from our shoulders. She said. And when you have a loved one who was murdered, what else do you have left you besides justice, right? So when you see somebody get arrested, a suspect get brought into custody and you realize that you might get to close that chapter, that has to feel good. Now, of course, never going to bring your loved one back. But the thought of the person who committed those crimes, who murdered your loved one, being on the street still must be too much to even deal with. So having the person that the authorities say is responsible for these crimes in custody has to be a great feeling for these families. A former friend believed co burger had turned his life around. A former friend of

7:44suspected killer Brian co burger has revealed that she believed he had turned his life around before his shock arrest for a quadruple homicide last month. On CBS news 48 hours, Bree said that she knew Mr. co burger when they were in high school, but their friendship ended when he began using heroin. You just saw him becoming more self destructive. He really states secluded. She said, well, he might have been using heroin at the time. But do you think he was using heroin while he was getting his doctorate? I know that there's functioning addicts and stuff like that. But it would really be a monumental task to be addicted to heroin and to still get your PhD and show up for work every day. So he might have been on heroin when he when he was in high school, but I highly doubt that he was currently addicted to the horse. When she saw him again, sometime later, she said it appeared as if he was getting his life together. He was telling me that he wanted to get sober, that he was getting sober, and he wanted to let me know

8:45like, I'm going to do better. I'm going to be better. She said Bree said that he wanted to do something that impacted people in a good way. And that she believed that study in criminology was his way of doing this. Instead, he is now facing the death penalty for the murders of four students. And rightfully so, any sort of bitch ass coward who's sculking around in somebody's house and murders them while they're asleep or in their bed deserves the death penalty. The sister of murdered student, Kayley Goncalves has said that she suspects that the accused killer wouldn't have been able to resist following the investigation online. So that he could watch his circus unfold. And unfortunately, that's how a lot of these

And I've been convinced about that from the very beginning where Brian co burger has spent years studying criminal justice and at the time of the murders was a criminology PhD student at Washington State University. According to the David, he appears to have stocked the home of the victims at least 12 times prior to the November 13th slaying. A lot of that comes from the fact that he had visited the home so many times before late at night and early hours, he's presented this pattern of behavior. She told news nation and him staking out the house and following them around and going back at all hours of the night, it fits the pattern with the kind of person that we're dealing with here. This is a man who has a lot of schooling, a man who understands the law or at least should understand the law and understand how cases like this unfold. And even with all that knowledge, old

13:53dumbass decided to use his own car and bring his phone with them. Oh, did I mention he left the knife sheath at the scene of the crime with his DNA on it? Sherlock Holmes, he is not. He went back to the home the morning of before police had been called. I think to see if his circus, so to say, had started to unfold, she said, I think he would not have been able to refrain from engaging with the online communities, the theories, the conspiracies, and everything in between. Oh, I have no doubt. I've said that from the beginning, I thought this dude was following along. I thought that he was keeping an eye on things and really enjoying himself. He certainly fits the bill, right? When you look at who the suspect is and you think about the patterns and the behavior, it certainly fits the bill for a guy like Brian co burger. Brian co burger is hearing rescheduled. Brian co burger's next court appearance has now been rescheduled. The

14:54murder suspects preliminary status hearing will now take place at 8 a.m. Pacific Standard Time on Thursday, January 12th, instead of the original time of 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time, a court order announcing the change revealed that there was a scheduling conflict with the original time due to schedule and conflicts, the party stipulated to changing the time of said hearing. Therefore, with good cause, it is hereby ordered that the preliminary preliminary status hearing will be held on January 12th, 2023 at 8 a.m. Pacific Standard Time in court room one of the Laita County Courthouse, the order reads. So they had a scheduling conflict as far as time and they had to reschedule the prelim hearing for a different time period, then was originally slated. So we're going to get it at 8 a.m. instead, obviously, we'll be keeping our eye on that. And they actual court filing, the rescheduling, that'll be in this next
