When a retiree out for some morning fishing cast his line into the Grand Marais Canal on Friday, May, 20, 2005 - an irreversible sequence of events was triggered. The discovery of a body launched an inquiry into a young woman’s death. But over the next several years the investigation would be muddied by the discovery of 7 additional bodies. The residents of Jennings, Louisiana have long suspected that these 8 deaths are somehow linked, and some attribute police incompetence or outright corruption to be the through line.
