Must-Haves for Draft Weekend Part 2! Injury Report Roundup, Best Offenses, High Upside, Late-Rounders & More! (09/05 Fantasy Football Podcast)

0:005 big things that you need to know going into your drafts this weekend with Jamie Eisenberg on FFT Express. Alright, here we go. Let's start with the injuries. We had a little bit of a scare at Bears Camp yesterday, but I think all is well. What are the biggest injuries we need to know before drafting? I think we have two running backs at the top of the draft, or relatively close to the top of the draft with Ashton Gentie and Jeremiah Love. Hopefully both will be ready for week one. It sounds like they're trending in the right direction. We got the scare for both of them. Gentie, late in the process and the practice that Dave actually was at and Love in the first preseason game, ironically enough against the Raiders. But I think you're drafting them in the appropriate spots with Gentie late round two early round three. Love mid to late round three early round four. If he falls, I think those are great values for both of those guys. We're keeping an eye on some other injuries as well. Ravi on Henderson has this ankle problem that I think has brought his ADP down, which I think is smart, which has helped elevate Ramandre Stevenson.

1:04Trying to get the running back ones that are really relevant. I think those are the biggest ones at wide receiver. We're keeping an eye on a mecca Bucco with the toe injury. Hopefully he's going to be okay. Seems like he's trending in the right direction. Alex Pierce has overcome his injury concern. So it seems like he's someone that will be rising up draft boards. I still would like to take Josh down first also has been a little injury prone. But sounds like he's going to be okay. But Pierce has immense upside if he can become a little bit more of a diversified wide receiver. Mike Evans seems like he's going to be fine. Made the trip to Australia. So hopefully he'll be out there for week one. Same thing with George Kittle, 249ers that we know we've been tracking for the entirety of the offseason. This is actually about four separate injuries in training camp. So that's brought his value down. And then in the case of Kittle coming off injured reserve. That's great. Same thing with Tucker craft. Another tight end that we had some concerns about, but he's healthy ready to go. I think we covered most of the major ones there unless I'm missing someone. No, I don't think so. There's some minor ones like carnal tape, the bangles wide receiver, Zay flowers back at practice. I think it's, you know, I think I have to I have to go ahead.

2:12That have helped actually players not that anybody was drafting Alvin Camaro to be starters, but his absence has allowed Travis H and I think to be put in a spot that he probably belong in to begin with, but you know having Camaro stand the roster was a little concerning for me. But Camaro has been a miss the start of the season so that that should be great for Travis H and you took him in the pick by pick series. We just talked about early third round. I would take him probably late third round. But great opportunity for him and same thing with Deandre Swift with common on guy dealing with this knee injury. He's week to week. So assuming that swift was just dealing with cramps. That's great for him. And then one more I guess bears note is Luther burden, you know, coming back from the groin injury. Sounds like he's going to be fine. Should be good to go and I guess you should mention breeze hall also coming back from a groin injury should also be good to go for week one. Okay, next topic here. Who are the top offenses that you want a piece of? A piece of most of them are relatively obvious the bangles, you know, you can draft their quarterback running back both wide receivers cowboys. Same situation. You know, those are two of the more prominent ones. The Rams, you know, assuming everybody's good to go with Sean McVeigh back with staffer back and you know, Puka on track to play.

3:20In week one Detroit schedule is absolutely dreamy with 11 indoor games in the first 17 weeks of the season. And I think they're going to get off to a great star, especially with their defense their their their safety are banged up secondary in general is banged up. So that should be good for them. I think looking at some of the more underrated offenses we talked about this with Dan, I think Minnesota bounces back with Kyler Murray. So that should be good for a lot of the pieces there. We know about you know the the high end guys of Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison and I think Jordan Mason will be the leader running back there but Kyler Murray should just help this team in general. The Saints, I think we'll have a fun offense as well. I think the Eagles offense gets back to being a more productive group. Patriots offense now should be a little bit more explosive with with AJ Brown there and Romeo dobs there. I'm actually excited about I know it sounds funny because they lose one of their key pieces in Josh Jacobs, but I'm excited about the Packers offense. I think that Jordan love throws the ball more. And the track record is is there when the run game struggles. And I think the defense is going to be a little bit suspect to start the season without Mike Parsons. If he's north of 30 pass attempts remember 2023 34 pass attempts per game is what he averaged and he scored the average 23 fantasy points per game.

4:27So we love the receivers right to whatever degree with Tucker craft like Watson's a fifth round pick. I'm excited about J and Reed Davis. I'm Matthew Gold and I think we're all excited to craft the self in Christian Watson thing like there's a lot to love about the Packers offense. I think being one of the more fun units to follow. All right. I'm going to ask you for some high upside mid round picks. We're going to do that when we come back on fantasy football today express. So far James has given you the injury report the offenses that we want pieces of how about the high upside mid round picks players who could outperform their ADP. I'm going to skip quarterback because I think they're all good of the mid round guys. If you want to go late round guys a quarterback Brock party Jared golf staff are still. Jordan love Kyler Murray. There's just a lot of good late round everyone. Yeah, everyone. Liquid the mid round picks so running backs. I think Jadarian price Marson Lloyd. Now Ramandre especially of Trevion who's another guy is dealing with the injury you know ankle problem. Those running backs I think could be great if you're getting them at the right price.

5:30Same thing with potentially Jonathan Brooks if he's the guy for the Panthers but you've a hubburd another guy dealing with an injury concern in camp with the hamstring problem now is back. Why do you see where there's a lot you know you start round five you got Christian Watson Chris Godwin. Romo Dunes a Parker Washington Marvin Harrison. James and Williams like there's so many guys in that range. If you go a little bit further you know I think again Jaden Reed Jordan Addison Matthew Golden Jalen cocker I'm probably going a little bit too far there but like. Yeah. The potential of some of those wide receivers they still think Carnal Tate just on Striblin Casey concept you know not a good rookie wide receivers there and then tight ends are fantastic in this range note. Sam Laporte talk or craft Kyle Pits. They're all amazing at just mid round class that could be great. I had to think about some of the wide receivers your names specifically Parker Washington and Chris Godwin you said round five that's when you consider taking them in 80 P.

6:34Parker Washington's going at the six seven turn Chris Godwin's going 80 eighth so those guys are are two that we'd highlight that could really outperform their 80 P. How about the late round quarterback strategy when to wait who to target how late you can comfortably go at quarterback. I did a draft on Thursday night where 12 team league I took two quarterbacks because I waited and it was Kyler Murray and Jordan love and I'm perfectly fine with that so if you're comfortable waiting. Jerrogoff I think is the first one you want to target because again early season schedule or right season schedule is great and you know production should be solid you know he's never been below 20 fantasy points as the full time starter for the Lions taking out the year that he was traded. And you know weapons are awesome Brock party is another one that you know consistently above 20 fantasy points last year was you know pushing to be the number one quarterback at times just dealt with some injuries in terms of points per game. I think Jordan love again is going to have a big season I think you're going to get great production from the running quarterbacks like Malik Willis like Kyler Murray Tyler Schuck was over 20 fantasy points per game as the starter for the Saints so depending on how deep you want to go with it I think it once you get past.

7:44Kind of the staffer golf party group then you probably want to consider taking to. Um the homes bone X or both in that conversation as well so it's it's just a great. Scenario to wait Baker may feel we never talk enough about Baker may feel just like the bounce back potentials future. All right and that's later on quarterbacks what if you wait at tight and what's your late round tight end strategy so it's usually once you get to the herald fan in spot where when I see fan and get drafted for the most part. I have it ranked differently but for the most part once fan and goes is when I start looking for Isaiah likely George Kittle. And Travis Kelsey now Kittle is kind of gone all over the place the last week or so since he's come off the pop list. You know then you had the report from college and about will you be ready and then you mix the flight to Australia so I should be good so if you're jab this weekend I would take. Kittle ahead of fan and I also again like likely head of fan and but usually when fan and goes because it's a DPS of Jesse goes first then I look for those two three guys in particular with Kelsey being the third one if I miss on.

8:44Almost all those guys the first option now ADP says otherwise Goddard goes ahead of these guys because his projections are higher but Dallas Goddard should be great without a J Brown there I think Dalton concait bounces back. Not bounce back but plays you know hopefully a full season because his knee seems to be okay. Mark Andrews should bounce back that was one that struggled last year and then you have the two veteran guys that I don't think anybody wants to consider as starters but they could be good in Dalton Schultz and Joanne Johnson both were fantastic last year career highs for both of them in targets and catches second best season yardage wise for Dalton Schultz everything was a career high for for Joanne Johnson except the touchdowns but you have significant injuries Jordan Tyson another injury concern. He's on I.R. and then Jaden Hagen's out for the season for the Texans so that opens up the opportunity for both those tight ends to be successful.
