The Washington Nationals have released 32-year-old pitcher Drew Smith. He signed a minor league contract with them earlier this year, complete with an invite to Big League Spring training camp. Smith missed all of the 2025 season while recovering from Tommy John's surgery. Last year with the New York Mets, he posted a 1-in-1 record with a 3.06 earn run average and two saves over 19 relief outings. Across his career, all spent with the Mets, he owns a 12-in-13 mark with a 3.48 earn run average and five saves in one, 191 games, leaving him free to explore new options this off-season.
