New Found Glory's Chad Gilbert Recovers from Brain Surgery

On March 24, Chad Gilbert, the 45-year-old guitarist and singer for Newfound Glory, just had

successful brain surgery to remove three.

He shared the news on Instagram on March 23, posting hospital photos after the procedure

on February 27.

His symptoms kicked in on February 20, right after a show in Nashville, with trouble controlling

his left hand and weakening in his left leg, that led to falls.

A CT scan in the emergency room on February 23 revealed the tumors.

This is part of his long fight against a rare, metastatic, fiel-chromocytoma, an adrenal

gland cancer first diagnosed in late 2021.

It is spread to his spine and lungs, and he recently treated another spot in his back.

He's recovering well, regaining hand function right away, though it's had some rough patches.

His radiation oncologist called it, the start of a new chapter, not the end.

His wife, Lisa Simarelli, and their four-year-old daughter Lily, have been there supporting him.

Gilbert is feeling stronger each day, and plans to catch up on messages soon, then get
