But we got some news to get to that we didn't get to in the full length episode.

This report from the Miami Herald that the heat are expected to waived here, Rosir, in

the coming weeks to add depth for the playoffs.

This is a finally kind of thing, David.

We've just been sort of wondering what the heat are going to do with this Rosir spot.

Wondering if they were eventually going to waive him to try to go get somebody on the

buyout market or potentially get some reinforcements for the post season.

This is the first time that we've really heard, okay, this thing is happening now.

You and I have talked about this in the past.

You and I have also talked about how we expected this to eventually happen and eventually

and to happen right around now, right?

The heat obviously didn't feel like there's anybody out there that they needed at the time.

And one of the things that I was talking about in terms of why weren't they waiving

Rosir earlier is, well, you want to wait to waive them and then fill that roster spot

later because you don't really know what you're going to need right until right before the

playoffs, right?

You might suffer a late season injury and you only have one spot to give at this point,

right?

You have 15 guys on the roster.

And so once you waive Rosir and you sign somebody, that's probably pretty much it unless

you kind of do the 10 days of these non-guaranteed contracts or whatever it is.

So they want to be careful with it.

They want to know what they're going to get out of that spot, but it sounds like we're

going to get there now.

So I guess my question, David, is, all right, why are we getting this report now and what

does this mean?

When I see Anthony Chang and the Harold report that they're going to waive Rosir in order

to add depth for the playoffs, where do you think they need to add depth?

Yeah, I don't know that there's an option out there.

I think depth is in Miami's problem, in fact, I think it's been one of their strengths.

It could be based on whether or not Andrew Wiggins' injury might be a little bit more severe

than what we have been led to believe.

If he's not going to be available or a full strength, there's going to be, but this is

the second year in a row where he's suffered an injury right before the playoffs and it's

taking him some time to kind of work his way back.

I don't know that we ever saw the best version of Andrew Wiggins in Miami's brief playoff

run last year either.

So I think that could be a concern.

You might try to find that spot filling that spot with another wing defender we talked

about the need to have Wiggins in that starting lineup because you want to be able to have

another body who can defend a perimeter or maybe make up for some of the inefficiencies

defensively from a guy like Tyler or Norm or something like that.

You don't really have anybody else maybe with the exception of Pella who could pick up

on the perimeter and add some decent size from that position.

So if I were looking at what they were trying to fill out, I'd say it's probably another

wing to a three, four kind of guy, somebody who can fill either forward spot and add some

defensive heft to a position because Miami does not have much size.

Like I know it's easy to say, oh, well, they need a big man.

I don't know that you're going to get a quality big man.

I think the rotation of, you know, bam and where is pretty set.

And I don't know that you're counting on either of them being a lost due to injury.

So if that's the case, I would rather get for a position that is probably going to be

needed, especially with Nico struggling the way he has all season long with Nico Yovich

not being a factor that you can go to in those spots that you can bring off the bench.

I think that's probably where Miami will look to add some talent.

I think you nailed it.

I think most people assumed for most of the season that eventually the heat we're going

to add a big man because he only had bam and colo aware and, you know, flag hold on

the two way, but obviously that he don't feel like he's ready to contribute meaningful

minutes.

And, you know, Yovich was an emergency five, but he's out of the rotation as he's sort

of working his way back.

Maybe he ultimately becomes the break last in case of emergency backup center.

I can see that.

We've seen Kishat Johnson play some small walled minutes at the five also, pretty notable

that he's not really getting any minutes forward.

It's only at the five right now, but that's it, right?

I think you're exactly right.

And when I see this report today that the heaters start are basically planning to waver

as you're in make this addition sooner rather than later.

And you look at the fact that Andrew Wiggins has not played for this team in a long time

and we have no timeline on when he's going to come back.

I have the same conclusion you do.

I don't know that Wiggins is going to play again for the heat this season.

Maybe he does, right?

Like the way that the heat treat these injuries, like he might be ready to play this weekend.

I have no idea, but it does kind of feel like that, that right now the reinforcements

are needed on the perimeter.

And because Wiggins is out in Heimachakus, Jr. also missed the, the Lakers game and he's

considered now day to day, so who knows how long he's going to be out.

That's a little indefinite as well.

And so yeah, I think you're, you're looking at the perimeter in terms of where this team

is going to add depth.

And with that, you know that I've got some names, David.

Oh, exciting.

I didn't know that there were any names available, but I'm curious to hear who you got.

Well, there are names available.

Tech.

They names of interest, however, that's what we're going to find out after this.

It's very possible that I miss somebody.

It's a very big list.

But those are the names that stood out initially.

Of that group, Boucher played this year.

Malachai Brannum played this year.

Nguyen played a little bit.

Malachai Brannum played a little bit, but again, he's got his health concerns.

Of that group, though, in terms of guys who can maybe make a stop on the wing, hit an

open shot, is there a name out there that you like in terms of depth behind Wiggins

and Jaime, just kind of somebody that could place some minutes on the perimeter?

Uh, wow.

No.

I think you'd like the occasional three-point shooting of George Nang, a guy who's not going

to be a disruption in the locker room or anything like that, but you're not really counting

on much.

He's a big enough body, I guess.

We could throw him at that four or five spot there to kind of take up some minutes and

he does stretch the floor, obviously.

It's a good guy to have in the locker room.

Has never been a disruption anywhere he's gone.

And a guy like Tori Craig, I think, is also a possibility.

But that's a name that probably would have generated a lot more interest three years ago.

We always felt like one of those guys that Miami would eventually have gone, but it

just felt like that would have been more to shore up the playoff roster during the Jimmy

Butler era as opposed to now at this stage where it looks like he's finding for his NBA

career.

So those two are the only ones really.

Lawns of Ball, I think, unfortunately for him, I just think as much as Miami may have

had interest in adding him at some point, given his health concerns, like, I think his

NBA career is done or at least going to be on major highways for a significant amount

of time.

He had him, right?

You would take minutes from Caz and Drew and Dave like this.

That's not a good fit here.

Yeah.

So I think Craig and Yang, maybe, might be a okay name today.

I'm a little intrigued.

I'm a little intrigued by Kessler Edwards.

I've always been a Kessler Edwards fan.

I think he hustles.

He's got some length there, a little bit of like a Haywood Heistmith kind of vibe to

him.

Yeah.

That's where we're at.

That's where we're at.

That's excited about any of the names either.

No, I mean, look, look, look, this is why when you waved here, Rosir, who's not playing

for you and your plan is to go get depth, this is what that looks like, right?

This is, hey, a couple of guys are hurt.

We just need some bodies.

These are bodies.

These are bodies with names that you've heard of and that's kind of what we're dealing

with right now.

Like, if one of these guys were just a slam dunk, we got to get this guy.

He'd be on the roster right now, right?

Like, they would have already waved Rosir and kind of done this.

So I think some of these guys are just bodies, they might bring in a few, they could potentially

bring in these guys for 10 days and then see how they work and maybe you kind of cycle

through a couple different players.

They can also promote somebody from the two way and then add somebody else, like what

they did with, with Myron Gardiner and then they promoted Trevor Keele's from their

Sioux Falls to the two way, and they can kind of keep that thing going too.

Maybe that's also an option.

Let's push it.

I had no idea.

It's something I just found out right now.

He's 33 years old.

I didn't know that.

That did not seem like, I didn't think he was that old.

Hasn't put on an ounce of muscle in his entire NBA career.

No, still it, it generously listed at 200 pounds and 68.

That's not good.

Yeah, he cannot seem to put on any significant half there.

So he's not a valuable option.

I know he's a guy who can sort of stretch the floor and bring some athleticism, but I

don't know.

He's not exactly known for his perimeter defense or anything.

He does have some athleticism, but at 33, is that the kind of project that Miami wants

to take on for this particular iteration of the heat?

No, and he's a non-rebounder, a non-defender gets pushed over pretty easily under the

brim.

That's not the out.

That's not the right thing.

I like Neang.

I think he'd be a nice fit in the locker room.

I like his trash talking.

And it is like a Kevin Love kind of late stage Kevin Love vibe to him a little bit.

Yeah, I think these are the guys, sorry, that it's not totally super exciting, but they

can go this direction, they can go to 10 days, they can go development route.

We'll see what happens, but it does seem like they're going to make some sort of move

here within the next few weeks, but of course, we will bring you that news when it does

happen.
