But the first and most interesting and biggest point is that they have confirmed the rumors. The rumors that WWE did say take a pay cut to them. And they've also confirmed that the pay cut was bigger than 50%. That is an insane look. This is just my opinion. They didn't say this. They didn't say this was disrespectful. This is an insane act of disrespect for one of your best tag teams of all time.

4:05Here's what they had to say. So Kofi kind of explained it. And there's quite a lot to get through here. We just felt that the terms they wanted us to perform under were not fair based on what we brought to the table. Based on what we were based on the knowledge and prowess that we have as performers. As wrestlers what we can give back to the younger people what we do from a point of entertainment. Being able to go out there and guard our reaction as good guys are bad guys. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Compensation was definitely a big part but more so we wanted to work. We wanted to go out there and showcase our skills and our talents. We wanted to do what we love. We love going out there and messing with fans and threatening to ground kids. And really a garnered reactions from people and send them home with incredible memories they'll never forget. I don't know exactly what's out there. I will say it was more than 50% of all people don't know it was more. They continued and spoke about how they found out. Creed said he was at his kid's football game. He gets a number call from a number he doesn't really recognize and he's thinking hey.

5:09It's just after WrestleMania they sometimes do releases here. But he didn't answer the call and then however he smart exactly he ended up getting a call from coffee. Who said hey they just called me and they said this this and this. Creed said how was that the conversation. It doesn't make sense to me because of what we've been able to do what we bring to the table how much we have left to provide. So he said he called them back and then he calls coffee afterwards. And that was the first time they had the conversation and they realized hey we have to go right. This doesn't work for us this isn't what we want to be doing. Creed also stressed that he doesn't want to set the tone that they're mad and angry and pissed they used all those words. And he said it is what it is it happened and now we move on we can't dwell on the past. I would never allow anything to have that kind of power over my emotional psyche where I'm brooding and thinking about the bad times when 99% of the time there was great. I'm super thankful for that part of our career but very very excited for the future. So it's a emotional not emotional and honest a very honest and open response from the mayor.

6:17I think that's an insane pay cut to offer one of your best tech teams of all time. And I also think that there is so much more to pro wrestling than just being numbers guys and stuff like that right. Not everyone not every single person on your roster is going to be someone who flipping spikes attendances by 10,000 every time they're announced straight. You need veterans who are also still already great at the moment with legacy names who can help raise up the next generation of performers but also still being stars themselves. I still can't believe they let them go. No, but I also think weirdly I can understand in the TKO mindset why this happens right. I think it's outrageous that for what two decades of service they turn around and go what have you done for me lately though. So we're going to pay you half more than half no sorry less than half of what we have been paying you despite the fact that yeah I mean technically as heels they shouldn't be generating revenue should they. No one should want to wear t-shirts being like probably love these guys.

7:19I love these assholes. Yeah. And also they were phenomenal heels. Their heel turn is one of the best of the last decade in my opinion right. But then they did nothing with them. There's no fault of Austin or Kofi that this happened. They had this incredible turn on Big E which must have been tough for them to do anyway but they executed it amazingly. Angle was incredible. And then nothing happened and then within about six months they were just like this times crapping it. Yeah. Which is just generic heel stuff that's never going to do anything. Having said that even though they were just kind of floundering a little bit with the booking. I still just don't justify turning around and saying. Um, maybe you like developmental deals can we go back to those. Yeah. It's insane that they would be offered that sort of money considering like I mean you never know the answer about how much money do you think that the new day of generated for WWE over the two decades they've worked there. Sure.

8:19Even if you just take merch disregarding like the huge matches that they've had let you say. The central point of the tag team division that they've been for over a decade. If you just count unicorn horn sales. Yeah. They justify what they get paid regardless. Yeah. And the thing I don't like about this whole owl dragon I was not a needle mover. New day art what they were etc. etc. Right. From a purely spreadsheet business point standpoint I get it that you go. Well the priority is J.U. So because he's selling loads of t-shirts or whatever. But that's not you wait away your business how the hell is your business going to survive in five years. Yeah. If you just work with who's doing stuff now. What the hell are you going to do in five years time aside from hope that you bring someone new in or celebrities that can immediately start shifting tickets and merch sales. Yeah. I think it's just completely backwards way of thinking to be very honest. And I think it's just spitting the face most too.

9:19Yeah I totally agree. They're total pros and they would never come out and go f this you know. One day they could go back and say I'm not saying that they would come out but I think a lot of water is going to have to go under that bridge first. Yeah for sure. It's to their credit that they're so like they're like we're not well. But you're on that. Yeah very mature. More mature than me. Yeah. I think I completely agree there's so much like goodness gracious. How can you turn around and go this person ain't moving the needle if you book them like ass right. It's your fault. Yeah. It's your fault company. Dragon off is like an interesting case as well because like you're using them for months and months and months and you never really gave them. But one chance you did give him to become something right the US title run which was really fun. You completely neutered when they brought us and I smoked him in the Royal Rumble and then you do next enough and with him since and then you go out of this guy doesn't move the needle. Yeah because you because of you because you wrote crap you wrote poorly not look not everyone is going to be that in pro wrestling everywhere.

10:23Of course but you can't cite that as a reason for letting someone go if if if you don't give them a chance to come on and the new day where that for years and years and years and years. And I think it's insane that WWE so flip it not doubt well TKO so flippantly let them go. I think it's cold I think it's crony I think it is a endemic of what the promotion wants to present itself as. This is an era of Slim Jim tables and what was the thing on the chair again? Wing stop chairs and 70 different adverts on the map and 20 minute ad breaks between WrestleMania matches and man I just want to watch pro wrestling. I don't want to watch a procession of corporate garbage and I'm we're getting angry on their behalf here but we love these guys we've always loved these guys and I wish them all the best because they deserve it and I really hope that this run is just killer.

15:36But let's talk about the new level signing with a w did they consider going anywhere else no very simply more from the arrow on each other as Andy mentioned with them talking about how they ended up joining a w saying we talked to a w it was only them. We've a lot of friends over there a lot of good people who said a lot of good things about it but again we probably sound like broken records to go back to the idea of having such a robust tag division and that being what our real focus is in this just made a lot of sense to us because watching those matches watching the stories that get to tell nobody's really doing it like that for tag team wrestling. It makes a lot of sense for us in that respect I genuinely believe that this is the best tag team division possibly ever that shot all in of all the tag teams in the ring obviously this was post match for the coped cage. Young books match also the most in shingles there and ftr that's some of the greatest tag teams of our generation so possibly when we're all done maybe of all time and when are we going to get this chance to do something like that again when is anyone ever done that in actuality yeah it was a real flex wasn't it have no those teams in there and the young box as well just all the young books as well.

16:44And you remember bro Dito existed all these other teams yeah yeah tag wrestling and AW has been really strong for a while and any I can see why any team in the world would look at that scene and go I would like to be a part of that please doesn't matter if you're young up and come in team doesn't matter if you're a veteran team like the new day it's probably super super exciting. That flex was completely insane what do you mean you have Christian and cope what do you mean FTR and the guns are here oh yeah you got the new level as well speaking of the god actually I just said that I was referring to the more same machine guns. Colton and Austin gun brother they have gotten so good yeah like every single time I watch them and I saw these days I was like these guys are freaking amazing they need to be in that mix at some point I agree. But yeah it's super exciting for if you're like a tag team rest on a fish and I do and it's taking a while maybe taking a little while to get here but it's no surprise that the young box you know that video package before the young box versus cage and cope was like we wanted to build the best tag team division in the world it's insane.

17:49I don't know whether I just have gotten swept up in all the excitement of all in weekend because we had such a great time and again thanks to everybody who came and said hello and and and all that good stuff. It did feel like a moment of change again yes weekend I think you know the first all in that they did it when we was like wow this is impressive and then it was like the next one the next year was just like this is cool but yeah I don't know this year felt a little bit different I hope that it's the catalyst I don't care about compete with WWE and almost anything like not careless can be stay the same forever for us all I care in terms of the product though the show they put out and the people that they feed. I want to see tag team wrestling may not mean event in the five you only see women may not be going forward and I just want to see the investment the fans have clearly given through that show and the road out was rewarded at all in yeah I hope that continues rather as the she even going forward. Totally agree on every single count I actively do not want a W2 trying compete with WWE because I think it would make it a worse product you do you we already have a WWE.

18:55Especially you know what people go I'll be more like WWE no absolutely not I want variety brother I want a W2 be the best possible version of itself and I want a W2 be the best possible version of itself and hopefully the momentum coming out of all in is kind of a motivator to just kick freaking ass within the confines of what a W is you know a super in ring focused promotion that continually delivers the highest quality matches if you want to see the best possible version of it. Possibly can because that's the stuff I like and that's the stuff I gravitate towards don't chase the competition chase the dream. Oh well I get out of the tattoo man I was profound yeah get it over your scar. Oh yeah actually that could be the underlying for the quote to me. Yeah really. Yeah really having it home let's talk now about how this all came together for the new level. Again this is from hell whanney this is whirlwind is the word they used whirlwind is how they describe their signing.

19:57Kofi said some the aggregation of taking is called him Kingston. I'm still I apologize in advance for saying the new day. Yeah save you woods and Kofi gets it's gonna take a minute I still say Mariah May for flavor so it's gonna happen. But Kofi said it was such a whirlwind you talked about it being the worst kept secret but the funny thing is it didn't really solidify and become official until less than 24 hours before the show. That's pretty cool it's like CM Punk showing up signing his contract and then doing the first dance kind of crazy. We didn't sign until less than 24 hours before we knew what we wanted we knew what everybody else wanted but it wasn't like officially official until very soon before the kickoff time using a football term there as well. I like it woods kind of woods. We've done it ourselves. We've done it ourselves create. Described in negotiations he said they were very very smooth. They video called with AWQ times during this process and then sat down and talked in person while they were signing.

21:00They said everyone was so welcoming and finished just felt right. And there's a seventh mystery team and it was like right okay. What was the backup plan there? We all anticipated but what if suddenly they were just like you know what I actually know. Yeah we don't fancy this. That's a really good question. Was there a backup plan? I mean if Swerve was involved the answer is obvious. It's Trench and Parker we draw brother. Remember Trench. Legend legend. I really don't know like off the top of your heads he was like a big creation tag team. I don't know I mean did say to us I did see someone say imagine if it was the grizzled young veterans. I mean they'd get the right reaction. They'd be like no but why would they be Swerve?

23:03They should definitely use GUIV and dynasty dynasty in Liverpool. I mean if you don't have Zat Gibson doing a soon to be recognized you've lost it. And whether or not we are going to get the dream much with the elite saying they will be facing the elite very soon. I'm just telling you guys yet they're going to be facing the elite very very soon.
