New York Giants running back Cam's Catebo has apologized after making controversial remarks
about chronic, traumatic, and cephalopathy, or CTE during a podcast appearance.
He downplayed the condition severity,
implying players were overreacting and just needed fresh air to feel better.
The comments drew quick backlash from fans and the NFL community who called them
insensitive, given the long-term brain damage linked to football.
Catebo posted an apology on social media Saturday, saying he regrets offending anyone
and will be more careful with his words going forward.
Studies back up the seriousness, with a 2023 Boston University report
finding that 91.7% of examined former NFL players had CTE.
