Hour 2 - Good Monday morning! Here's what Nick Reed covers this hour: Cyndia Haggard with the Vernon County Central Committee and Bob Eno with the Saint Charles County Central Committee joined us last hour to discuss the conflicts in the Missouri Senate. Last week, Senate President Pro Tem Caleb Rowden (Dist. 19) and Majority Leader Cindy O’Laughlin (Dist. 18) removed Sen. Bill Eigel and several others from committee assignments. Not only that, but the group also lost their parking spots. These actions stemmed from members of the Freedom Caucus filibustering. Senate Majority Leader Cindy O’Laughlin told reporters that she “absolutely would” like to expel from the chamber state Sen. Bill Eigel. The Freedom Principle MO started an online petition on Wednesday calling for Senators Rowden and O’Laughlin to resign their leadership positions. Natalie Scholl joins Nick this hour: Natalie is a Clay County Republican Committeewoman. Nick and Natalie also discuss IP reform. How much of this fight is about abortion? If IP reform isn't passed, abortion could be on the Missouri ballot in November. Kansas City and St. Louis will vote to support abortion, which could lead to Missouri becoming a full-term abortion state. Where is the Missouri GOP? Debbie McFarland also joins Nick: Debbie is the Committeewoman for the Muegge Township in St. Charles County. She is also the event planner for the St. Charles County Republican Central Committee. She coordinates all the events that the Central Committee does, like the Lincoln Day Dinner (which is scheduled for March 22, 2024 in St. Peters!) There will be a rally on Tuesday in Jefferson City. The rally will be held at 11 AM on the 2nd floor at the MO Capitol. Rachel Gifford with the Johnson County We The People stops by: Rachel give a synopsis of a statement that was sent out by the Johnson County We The People. Rachel does a quick run through of why IP reform is important for the Show Me State. This is now the third session where IP reform will be on the floor.
