Nimmala's Spring Training: A Promising Future for Blue Jays

Arjun Nemala, the 20-year-old shortstop and number 3 prospect for the Toronto Blue Jays,

just wrapped up his first taste of Major League.

Spring training camp.

As a non-Roster invitee, he played in 15 games, hitting 240-367-280 with two stolen bases.

He stuck around longer than some players on the 40-man roster, like Outfielder, Jonathan

Clay's.

Manager John Schneider praised Nemala's baseball smarts and feel for the game right from

the start of camp.

Still, no one expected the young infielder to crack the opening day roster after just one

year in class, a Vancouver.

On March 16th, the Jays cut him along with a group that included Clayse, Javin Coleman,

and others, sending Nemala back to the minors for now.

The team has Andre's Kamenez locked in a shortstop through 2029.

But if Nemala keeps rising, they might slide him over to second base.

He even smashed a ball at a career high 111.2 miles per hour, off Detroit's Tariq

school ball earlier this month.
