The Edmonton Oilers face a major setback with superstar Leon Drysidle expected to miss

the rest of the regular season due to a lower body injury.

He got hurt in the first period against the National Predators on Sunday, logging just

3 minutes and 12 seconds of ice time before leaving.

Even so, he scored a goal in that game, but his availability for the playoffs remains

unclear.

This injury hits hard for a team already in a slump, having gone 5 wins, 7 losses and

1 tie since January 31st.

Fans and analysts see it as a tough break right when they need their top talent most.

Drysidle racked up 35 goals and 97 points in 65 games this year, snapping his 4-year streak

of over 100 points.

Without him, the Oilers' offense takes a big hit in their playoff push.

Their third in the Pacific Division was 75 points and a 33 win, 26 loss, 9 overtime

loss record.

Just two points behind Anaheim for the top spot, but only four points ahead of Seattle

and Los Angeles lurking for wild car births.
