Operation Mille: Cracking Down on Illegal Work & Road Safety

On April 9th, Avon and Somerset Police teamed up with the driver and vehicle standards agency

and immigration enforcement for Operation Mill on March 31st.

They hit the A33 hard, leading to three arrests on immigration offenses and the seizure of two unsafe vehicles.

Over 20 vehicles got stopped, with five traffic tickets handed out.

This multi-agency push included targeted stops using automatic number play recognition intel

and detailed checks on commercial trucks.

The DVSA slapped 12 prohibitions on vehicles, eight immediate ones yanking unsafe rides off the road right away and four delay for fixes within.

A time frame.

They also ran two searches and sorted two potential failed to stop situations.

It's part of a nationwide effort to dismantle organized crime groups messing with immigration, drugs, firearms and money laundering.

Past ops have nabbed, charged, convicted and deported hundreds tied to these high-harm schemes creating real disruption.

More than 10 folks got words of advice or education to steer clear of trouble.

Officials held the teamwork for boosting road safety, cracking down on illegal work and shielding vulnerable people from exploitation and trafficking risks.

These joint actions keep proving that coordinated hits make a difference,

wrapping up enforcement to protect communities and roads long term.
