4:37And I saw Michigan dropped out of the APC. I have the ready. Yeah. So I'm like, you know, there really is justice in the world. You don't play them. There is. Karma is a real thing. There is justice in the world. And it's Texas week and it's it's it's fun. I know the guys are geeked and other coaches are geeked and it's going to be a heck of an app. It's going to be 100 degrees like 99 degrees at kickoff. So it's it's going to be a war of attrition outside of the night and just a just a great game of of college football. It's just it's fun that we get to be kind of tangentially a part of it. Absolutely. And before we get into anything, I will say my dream weekend, Nevada, is to get out of Austin. And out of mat maconahays, all right, all right, all right, face with a win on Saturday. And then witness the Oklahoma Sooners, Go boomer sooner, by the way, the whole country is saying, Go boomer sooner.

5:40And I just want them to just absolutely wax the cheaters up north. That's my perfect weekend. I'll win down in Austin and the cheaters up north, getting just taken to the wood shed in the big blouse. You know, and so the Oklahoma Sooners can finish off with the refs would not allow the Western Michigan Broncos to do Nevada. What what I am like the worst color of several what time is the Oklahoma Michigan game. I'm looking at it right now. I thought it was a 330, but it might be a big nooner. Let's see, it's a nooner. Yep, it's a new game. So, yep, so we get to watch that game to start off the day, right? Great, great game to start off today. See Oklahoma whip them and then get ready for that night game at Texas, man. That's just perfect. So, yep, it's a new game. And let me see. I don't know if it's Fox or not.

6:41I believe it's five. I think it's a big noom. But I can't remember all these TV rights. I can't remember. Yes, it's on Fox. Yep. So you got Gus and Joe clap on the call. Yeah, so. Yeah, no, one thing that the only thing that concerns me about this game is like now. And I don't know, I don't know why he's tripped my algorithm or whatever it is, but like everywhere. Everybody's including the fact that fats under would can't play quarterback and then he's terrible and these are great. I mean, everywhere. And if you go back on the board, I reprived, I rebumped a threat on the board. I referred it a threat in it was in May where I said I had been hearing from my Michigan sources that under would actually gotten worse. That he's regressed and he's gotten worse and people were kind of questioning that and you know, a lot of push by talking. How he's getting coaching now and all this stuff. But I just, you just maybe it's just a defense mechanism. But I just hope they don't come up with some sort of big effort in the morning.

7:45Because Oklahoma's defense is legit. And their court of mature is a college quarterback for getting an NFL driver, but as a college quarterback, he's absolutely legit as well. So hopefully, let's set that they off right now. I'm going to take your business in the in the morning and then we'll take your business in the evening. No, I feel you don't want things tilting in the the juju scale. Or you know, I see what you're saying is that it's that thought of dang everybody's rooting against them. Everybody saying fats is trash like he is. And now he's going to pull a rabbit out the hat. I feel you it's like psyching yourself out. But I think I think it is what it is, man. I think the Oklahoma Sooners are good enough to come into the big blouse and and just take it to them. So maybe there's some things they can do better schematically. You know, seeing what they did in the run game, which was ineffective. But man, I mean, if fats can't turn into Joe Montana in a week, I just don't see it.

8:48So I feel you because I get have a mind thinks, but man, I think it's a wrap. The question is, can they blow them out? I don't want 24 to 17. I want 45 to 13. That's what I want. 10:53Absolutely. Make sure you jump on it. People. All right. So let's get to this wonderful nugget. I enjoyed this read Nevada. I mean, you know, we got nuggets coming out of our ears on the bucket scoop board. Some are, they're all great. But some are greater than others. I don't know. I just thoroughly enjoyed this nugget. And it's talking about, you know, basically mismatches versus Texas. What we feel we can do and exploit against them. And I thought this was outstanding from the third wise men Nevada. So you want to kind of kick it off and get into the mind of the third wise men and kind of articulate where he's coming from as far as a house, it's approach and how they're going to accomplish these mismatches. Well, yeah. I think, you know, there was some stuff held back just for in all, in all the full disclosure, there was some stuff held back because I know how crazy this sounds, but people scour the message boards now.

11:55And they're just teams scour the message boards and specifically they have. You know, said they're watching Buck I scoop or stop because we've got a lot of information. So we've actually held some information back, but talking about how Ohio State feels like they can get mismatches, especially in the back end with them. And with with with JJ Smith and they talked about how they they're working to neutralize column Simmons and you know column Simmons is a guy who last year, if you remember, went up against full of Daniels, who was making his first start for house date. And I don't he didn't have a sack. I mean, he might have had one tackle. I'm not sure what his staff, but it wasn't good. You know, he got kind of shut down and they they talked about some of the stuff that are out there Smith does to do that and how column has a habit of, you know, if you see a guy that's on that side of the field, it's going to chip him or help out in on a double team block, which you do by rolling over a tight end by rolling over a running back or an offset, you know, why do you just going to come in and do that.

12:59And in slam, he likes to think to play off. I mean, like those are, you know, because elite past rushers don't you, they see they got a double team, they decide to take that play off. And so there's ways you can, you can, there's ways that you can exploit that I just thought that was such a really interesting. You know, you talk about the game inside the game and how things aren't always as they appear to be and you realize that guys like miles, you know, guys like miles, Garrett can't go 100 miles an hour every play. So they kind of pick their spots. And so, Ohio State's going to do some things. I'm not going to go to all things I'm going to do, but they're going to do some things to kind of confuse him on the looks. You know, because he may come around the corner and then not be expecting that that that double team block and have somebody whammy him. Or he may present to him, he may decide to take that play off and it actually wasn't a double thing. So I think there's ways that they're going to work to confuse you to have a confusing the quarterbacks with different, you know, dark side coverage, coffee, ice, blitzes, things like that.

14:03Or you can confuse past rushers as well with what you're presenting to them and you know, give them a bunch of different looks that may moderate or mitigate some of his effort as it comes to going out every play because you watch constantly he doesn't go 100% every play. He just doesn't know. No one's really capable. Surely not in a hundred degree heat of doing it. But he's particularly what he picks his spots. And I think Ohio State's going to try to find ways to exploit that. By the way, he had three combined tackles last year, zero sacks and he had a 15 year face mass penalty that, you know, converted. It was a third and four that incomplete pass and we and it moved the chains. So he was not very effective last year. And again, we said this before Philip Daniels actually had a good game against them. And so he's still the topic. He's still, you know, the cause of concern, which I get. But the nugget also talks about protecting Julian. And that's the key. If Julian has time to throw, we're going to eat.

15:09I was watching the Texas versus Texas state game Nevada. And there's some holes in that secondary man. And I watched that game before I read this nugget, which emphasizes that Julian saying and these receivers, especially Jeremiah Smith are going to eat. If he has time to throw, you know Arthur Smith is going to make a point of getting Jeremiah Smith the ball. So he can go beyond these low stat games, the past two games. Last year, 43 yards and six receptions. The year before that, one catch for three yards, I believe. So what's your thoughts on that Nevada on that portion of the nugget? Well, they were talking about the protections. And again, I thought this was another thing. These are things that kind of intuitively you know, but when you have somebody kind of articulate to it, you know, it to you and in. You know, layman's terms that kind of helps kind of understand better what you're seeing. What he said is that Arthur Smith, you tell the offensive tackles job is to create the width of the pocket.

16:13You know, they're job is to keep those guys wide keep those guys wide keep them from spinning back keep them on the outside. That you can't they they're death to them is allowing an insider cannot allow an insider push everything to the outside of you like Justin or Julian rather, you know, move up in the pocket and in and adjust accordingly. And the three guys on the inside are responsible for creating the depth in the pocket. Those guys create how much depth you know they they've got to stand their ground and make sure that you've got a deep pocket. You know how it is, but Ohio State is able to push those guys and the cure back into the quarterback's lap. It makes it really difficult for a quarterback to operate. So it's about with from the tackles is about depth from the three interior guys. And I really believe that the starting five when they go out there is going to be the same starting five they had last week. I think it's going to be, you know, Ian Luke Carson Austin and Philip. I really do think that's their their best five in this particular matchup.

17:14You know, and I said this on the board. There's going to be struggles is pretty. Currently, Texas is a really good team. A really good defense. So I am not expecting our offensive line to go out there and play perfectly. So if Texas gets a sack or blows up a play, don't go and run it up and I'm going to see I told you I told you they wouldn't stop on every play. Like yeah, we already know we already get it. We get it that the line isn't going to be perfect every play, but I think it's a winning line. I think it's a line that can do enough to help us score more points than Texas and score against our defense. And you know, if they decide to make a change and they decide to kick Austin out the right tackle and move Josh and the right guard or Gabe and the right guard. Let's go. I'm all about it. You know, I just want a winning performance on Saturday. I think we've got a lot of different options that we can present. I think they made use some stuff with some six offensive linemen as well, which is kind of a little nugget there for year first. So I think there's interesting things that they may do.

21:05But I don't want to give it away because I don't want Texas to know what we're doing. Yeah we're going to have a plan to protect Julian and this online is going to play better they're going to have to see in that film. I mean to me is it's a little bit of a blessing in disguise because some of it was a little just confusion who do I block and in a sprinkle a little bit of sprinkling in their goofiness. Now it's funny Nevada we talked about Filip Daniels and I saw some comments from people as if we were saying Filip Daniels had a great gain we didn't say that he had some bad plays everybody talked about the bad plays but we said is on the 22 film there's also some good place so overall it wasn't as bad as it seemed at first there was some bad but in overall wasn't as bad when you look at the total picture of Daniels in the offensive line. That was really what we were saying. So yes, they're going to definitely

22:08have protection set up for Julian saying and these guys on the road will have to be forced to kind of hunker down together as brothers and focus and lock in and I believe that's what they're going to do. And yeah, they got great players. So they're going to make plays and so are we? Who's going to make more plays? Who's going to make less mistakes? That's who's going to win this game? Period. Nevada. Well, yeah, and I think, you know, I think Arthas has got a plan for them that when, you know, when they, when Texas tries to bring pressure, I think, you know, there's a lot of ways you encounter pressure, but one way you can counter pressure is by swinging the backs out of the backfield and getting the ball out to them. And we got guys, you know, in Bo Jackson, in Legend Bay, can really cause problems when you get the ball out to him in space like that. And so I think, you know, I think Ohio States can look to use Texas's aggressiveness against them. And yeah, Esther Phillip, Dan, my only point was he was not as bad as people were saying. There were plenty of blame to go around the front on the front, Ian had some bad plays, Luke had some bad plays,

23:12Carson had some bad, but Austin had more than a few bad plays. Yeah. Having said that, they really dominated the second half. They really kind of pulled it together in terms of doing it. And so what we're talking about is for the first 30 minutes of the first game in which we gained 677 yards as core 56 points, they didn't look perfect. Right. You know, and, and I'd say, when go around, go around college football and you show me the offensive line that looked perfect for the entire 60 minutes of their games this weekend. Can't find it because nobody did. You know, it's hard. It's hard to come out there. You know, Austin's been battling a little, he's got a little bit of ring rust because he's been, he hasn't been playing. He's been injured a little bit during the fall. They've been losing guys around. So, and there's some stuff that, like, we've always got stuff to build on stuff to work on. But I absolutely believe in the offensive line. I absolutely believe they can get it done. And I believe that we have a lot of different way, a lot of them paths to success with the offensive line. So it's not just about the five guys that I think

24:16lots of different ways we can do this. Agreed. And check it out. So there's some Texas fans. If they don't tell you on their message boards or on social media, they're concerned. Texas State put up 349 yards. I went up when I was watching that game. They were moving the ball on this Texas defense. I mean, this is Texas State. They're not great. I guarantee you they're not going to win their conferences here. Maybe they will. I don't think they will. And so here's a comment from a Texas fan on Twitter, Maverick. He says, I'm desperately asking someone to explain how having my concern meter at a 10 plus for a house state after watching Texas give up 250 yards of Texas State by half time makes me an irrational fan. Please explain it to me. Like I'm a Michigan fan who still thinks they're on the same level as a house state. I'll wait. Actually, I didn't read that whole comment until now. I didn't expect the Ohio State comment. That was beautiful, Maverick, if you're watching the broadcast. But that was a great comment, Nevada. But to his point,

25:24just imagine Nevada and everybody if we gave up 250 yards to ball state by the half, we were melting down over half a dozen whiffs on the offensive line and not having 200 yards rushing by half. What do you think we would have done if this would have happened, Nevada? Well, B, you got to keep it out. We played a first half that we were not happy with, right? We had over 300 yards of offense and 28 points in the first half. Yep. Do you know what I'm saying? It's like at some point, we just have to recognize that our standards are just so, standards of perfection are just so impossibly high. And you know, I just think we've got to we got to moderate that a little bit. We got to pull that back a little bit and just be just a little bit reasonable about it. Yeah, that ain't going to happen for some. It's just not going to happen. But perspective, again, you got some organ fan

26:29tour are just absolutely besieged themselves, you know, about their game. So listen, I believe this team is going to, first of all, the player interviews were today, coach day, coach day and the and Julian saying, Kinyada Jackson, I think those are the only two players, Nevada, who were interviewed. Yes. Yes. And listen, it was business. I am press conference boy. You know, I enjoy watching the press conferences. I examine, I analyze, and I kind of like, you know, read between the lines, I feel throughout the coach speak and whatever, it was very buttoned up today, Nevada, in this presser. It wasn't fun. It wasn't cracking jokes. It was short answers to questions. They are locked in. They've been locked in all off season for this game. And I love it, man. I absolutely love it. They want to win. It's all business. This is

27:32a business trip. And so, and I love Jeremiah Smith going, yeah, Jeremiah Smith saying today, you know, days like, Hey, Jeremiah, we're going to pull you out and say, and I'm like, we've seen enough. And he's like, just beat Texas coach, just beat Texas. I love it. I mean, Jeremiah Smith, he's like the perfect kid too. And I contrast that to that knucklehead fat underwood up there in Michigan, where he's just like, just completely, you know, locked social cues and just the worst teammate in the world. And Jeremiah says all about the team, all about business. Let's just go win. And yeah, I love me some, some JJ Smith. Yeah, you took, you read my mind. I was right. I was going to go back. I was going to Jeremiah Smith. And I mean, I said the other day, I know it's, it sounds like duh. But it's not, I don't think enough people have been told about it. He looks better. He looks like he's added another infinity stone to the gauntlet. He was really good these past two years. But on Saturday, he looked even more polished. He looked more confident.

28:34He looked like he just was just, I've used the Bruce Lee grow glow for you guys who know about the last dragon. He just has it. You can tell. And even how he caught that touchdown, there was a content creators Nevada, you know, who were breaking down the game. And they were just in all about how he grabbed it off his helmet and just stretched the ball out like just a man out there amongst boys. So anyway, with that said, Jeremiah Smith is coming. Two straight games of, you know, basically being limited by what Texas was doing. Texas plays a lot of zone, a lot of cover three cloud. They'll do that a lot of time on one side of the field, take him away. And they'll do some other things on the other side of the field. Now, we'll must champ is here now. So he's going to have a plan cooked up. He's a good defensive coordinator. But I am so happy we have a NFL coordinator in author Smith who can match blow for blow with a guy like Will Must-Champ. And then also have

29:39Matt Patricia on the on the other end to kind of give him a high level defensive coordinator, you know, perspective. Like to me, don't play that now, y'all. Having Matt Patricia to kind of bounce things off of is invaluable Nevada. As you know, I know I'm preaching to your acquire with this, right? Well, yeah. And, you know, and I think it's, you know, it's one of those things where this is a game of matchup. This is the matchup of coordinator versus coordinator and head coach, versus head coach. And, you know, I think, you know, Ryan's super comfortable with the guys that he has. You know, that certainly came across Loudoun today as well. And how much confidence he's got in coach Smith and coach Patricia in terms of putting together their plans. And the one thing I'm going to assure you is that both the offense and defense are going to look very, very different than they did last weekend. Very, very different. And, you know, I love it. I think it's everything that's

30:41great about college football is going to be on this planet. And in the Texas people are great fans, man. They are great fans, very hospitable. If you have a chance to go to the game, you know, they're not like Michigan fans or any of the terrible fans are like, these are really, really nice people. And I think it's going to be a, it's going to be a great night of college football. And I really am confident that we're going to come out on top. I really do, I really do believe that's going to be the final outcome. Yep. The week is still early. I'm still mulling it over. But I feel, I feel good. I've been saying this is going to be a tough game to win on the road. Three in a roll at night. You know, they're going to be desperate. The pressure is on them still. But man, it's, it's going to be tough to go down there and win. But we can do it. We absolutely can win. It's just who's the more prepared team and who executes better period. And so we'll have more on this much, much more on this. And let me say one other thing to your point earlier about JJ. I love the fact that you're not the JG's not motivated in every game, but you know, there's a special

31:45level of motivation for him at this game. Absolutely. That, you know, the fact that he didn't hasn't dominated Texas in the previous two or the thing, you know that nozzan. The competitor in him is like, Hey, and Ryan touched on it today. He's like, you know, it's a fine line. You've got to find because if teams specifically over commit things to take away something from you, then they're leaving something else open. And you've got to be able to exploit that. But then you can't forget your guy. And I think this is where having a guy like Arthur Smith, former NFL head coach, former NFL, the officer coordinator, he knows how to do. He knows how to put JD in a spot where we can exploit the matchups where we can get him open, where you can get him in one-on-one situations, and then take advantage of it. And he talked about how, you know, that's really up to Julian San. Julian San's got to recognize those situations and then get the ball to JJ and can. And there's nobody that I have more confidence than to read and diagnose what's going on and get the ball to the right spot than Julian San. Yep. And I think he's going to be sharper. This was his

32:46first game of having the ability to check at the line. And I thought based off the film, he did do a pretty good job overall, checking into plays that were favorable as far as the numbers, you know, in the box. He may not have been perfect every time, but then also Ball State would do stuff post-snap to bring more guys in the box that he didn't see pre-snap. Ball State had a good plan. I mean, you know, they had all summer to plan for a house date. I think they did a good job, but obviously you're just going to get overwhelmed at some point. And that's what happened. So I think Julian will learn from the film of the things he could have done better. And I think he'll be ready to go on Saturday and the game plan. I think it's just going to be so on point and tight that we're just going to see a just another level Nevada. And I'm looking forward to it. Anything else on this for me? Move on. 33:49are really going to, you know, they're going to be front and center. And, you know, it's hard because it's only a second game, but I just have total confidence in those guys to do it. And I just think that we have a real edge over Texas than air. And I think that's going to be a display on Saturday night. Yep. I think it's psychological as well. There's a psychological edge that we have. There's definitely pressure on them. And so I can't wait. But football is back. Yep. You heard correctly. Football is back.
