I mean you kind of as a good team. They're a good program

Got something a betting Auburn yesterday in basketball

And I don't even know if you know that Auburn was even playing in basketball yesterday, but it was the final of the NIT

It's kind of interesting. They they have all the finals of the NIT division two division three all the same weekend as the final four in the same city

So it's like it's like a weekend a basketball championship

It yeah, it used to be at Madison Square Garden and all this stuff like that

But I actually think it's a good idea because you have D2 championship D3 championship and I D championship

But anyway, so I'm betting and I bet I'm in it's about even because it's like a pick-up game and

Auburn goes out to a 21 point lead in the second half

So I'm up 21 points and so those the lines flips to Auburn's now a hundred to one

Favorite, you know to win this thing and I could hedge off my thing, you know bet a little bit on me like pennies

Just to cover my downside, but I'm like, no, I'm not gonna do that

also goes on a 22-0 run

And retakes the lead over Auburn and Auburn's best player fouls out and I'm down five with 10 seconds to go on a gigantic bet

I'm gigantic bet be like a bet that would have made me uncomfortable losing, okay

They get a two-pointer they they get a five-second violation on the imbalance and then hit a three

To send it to overtime and then they win it over time

Wow, it was a miracle

So my all the sun called me up because dad considering this is Easter that was the second biggest resurrection of all

That's well played that is well played

So anyway, but that was my little

I know I didn't know how I had betting Auburn I didn't know they were playing and I was just sort of betting the better and just went crazy on me

It was just what a big mistake. Don't keep gambling kids of your gambler. Don't be a gambler. That's Nevada bucks passage for the day

So you dodged a matrix bullet oh my you have 10 seconds ago. I'm sitting and going. I cannot believe I just

It's so real to do we on this thing, you know, this is just so bad. Well, congratulations because I mean

On a on a smaller scale back-to-back weekends of you on a emotional roller coaster smaller scale

So first of all, let me say this I know Chapman and Cups and Colin white are gonzo. They're gone

I know some people in Nevada were upset about Chapman. I was not he was fine. He was okay

Maybe he could have got better and been more consistent, but yeah

And then of course Colin white and Cups

All right, so but I see rumblings of people that something's going on something's happened ended

Yeah, it's called they're being processed out because they're bringing other guys in

And the good news that I'm hearing from a little birdie is that some influx of cash is coming in for the b-ball program around 15 milli

Okay, influx. So this basketball program from when I'm being told

They are doing some work behind the scenes. There's some some names in Nevada

I can tell you this if you even care after the show behind the scenes because I can't say it publicly yet

um, there's some names that are

You know being said. I hey there. We're going to get them. I just can't say nothing yet publicly

The point is book. I basketball. They're doing things behind the scenes

I know listen. I told y'all my trust level has not been great with the basketball program

But what I've been hearing has been very encouraging about them. Just wanted to share that

Yeah, I mean, I think you know

You're told Ross Bjork that he planned to flip that they're that they're going to flip about 70% of the roster

And I think that's about right you know between guys leaving and you know those tough conversations

But you know, you see the stats on the starters in the final four and it's just it's heavily weighted towards

Rotten towards transfers

You know, I'm like do you have teams of entire teams of transfer portal?

I think that's just the nature of college basketball in

2026 and just think we all got to get used to it. Yeah

We do it is what it is just make moves man

I mean, we want to be able to compete consistently every year

And I mean, I think that's that's it. That's the baseline

the imposition for big-ten championships and

most of all

Turnip deep turnip runs and I think we'll be good as a as a fan base. So make it happen

So there you go all right. So let's get into it man. Let's get into it helping technician and bring us some heat

And um this post was you know a prediction based off of what they've been hearing all the until they've been getting

Um, so we're going to go through it Nevada because I want to get your opinion and thoughts on it

And uh, we're going to start with the offense and then we'll get to the defense

Well, I think that's the order anyway, but let's let's have a nice little backdrop of these these excellent

Young men as we discuss this all right, so

So basically with this uh with this prediction and from a helping technician

It's based off of what he's hearing what he's seen coaches. He's talked to player all of that stuff

We're going to give our thoughts on it, but I wanted to walk through it because I'll be honest with you some of these names

One name on the divine on that thread

Say and tell me more and I one thousand percent agree. I told you I was high on this dude

I went on a little rant uh, maybe we could go about him and it was exciting to see another confirmation about it

So anyway when to intro this uh nugget we can get right into it from top to bottom

Yeah, let's let's do it lots of good stuff in there again. These are all too early projections. They're one person's projections

You and I may have different projections that that's and that's fine, but it is uh

It was it was a nice to see a start point and there was one thing I know that I thought was kind of a

Hidden nugget in there is I'm kind of reading between the lines on stuff is

You know, and I don't want to jump ahead to the but it sounds to me like a house takes moving to more of a three four

type of defense and the traditional four three and um, I don't know if you've been kind of picking that up

But you know the way that they're playing Christian and Epi and Quay at that stand-up defensive end man

That just sounds more like a three four to me than a four three

Yeah, I mean to me what what Matt Patricia he's so clever and savvy

that

He would probably look this is my prediction

I predict because you know

What after a while more people even those who are slow to the ball on this will start picking up on it and ask questions

I even if it is even if we do see a three four type of scheme as far as what we're seeing on the field alive

I think the coaches Patricia will still say oh no, we're still four three team

But we're going to just you know vary our our fronts and looks

But yes to your point though

Because I don't think we're like turn into a three four team like as a principal base defense

But honestly, it doesn't matter because the look is the look

We can call ourselves a four three defense and and do that you know a good amount of time

But if we're walking up linebackers on the edge and have Quay having Quay resolve stand-up like you

Said a lot. It's it's going to be a lot like you know a three four defense either way. I love

That we're moving guys around and playing to strengths if filet grill is is dope and getting at the quarterback

Which is what we heard all weekend then walk him up

You know, I'm saying like I mean we have enough and I don't want to jump ahead of myself

But I'll wait I'll get I'll wait till we get to the defense. Let me back let me back down

Because start with the offense because coach day and his pressure today

Mention some linebackers that also got me excited. So anyway anyway. Let's let's get to it in about it

Um, did you want to respond to that or did you want to go ahead and go down a list?

I want you to let you get on the list and all all respond again

Got you all right. So the obvious QB Julian and I'm going to read the note next to the name

obviously Julian

Usain and it says NFL ready now. I'll say this

Dom to bury I believe it was Dom to bury. Yeah shot at the Dom to bury one of the local media guys that I really love

He was asking what has he improved on and what he needs to do

So Ryan Day was saying he improved on his command and confidence and you know in the huddle

You know and lead the team like last year he was new to it this year

They're expecting to be at another level. They're seeing that and then also the uh what he needs to get better at is what he's been saying

He's he's he's the word physicality in the pocket

Um, so obviously taking off and running when he needs to um and you know moving the chains and leading his team down the field

He mentioned how a lot of these games are going to be in the fourth quarter

So he's going to have to engineer that so obviously Julian saying but any thoughts on that Nevada

No, I mean I just I mean like I think that's probably one of the more chalky picks you know that we have

I think people have been asking about

The the whole idea of a tagging St. Clair package or something like that. I don't see it

Um just because I don't think you can afford to take

You're one of your best players a high NFL draft pick off the field for anybody in any type of situation

So I'm not seeing that could that change sure

But uh, you know definitely Julian or Boston 2026

Yeah, and listen, I love tagging St. Clair he can run

But he's not to me he's more dangerous when you're not expecting him to run

As opposed to dialing up a you know um

A package for a running quarterback who you know, it's just no I don't see that either

I will be very surprised if we saw that so obviously next up bow Jackson

Says has to be the guy

So let me ask you about your thoughts on bow Jackson about it because I had to debate with my buddies and

um

A few of them were kind of mad on bow Jackson like hey if he would have left in the portal so what

I was kind of like

Pull like this. I liked bow Jackson. He ran for a thousand yards as a freshman

Um, he needs to improve he needs to get a little stronger. He needs to uh work on his breakaway speed all of that is noted

But do you see him

The do you see a trajectory with him being an elite back at a house date or like what's a comp?

What is it what is a comp for his silly is there any a house they running backs that you can think of that's a comp for a bow Jackson as far as silly

I mean

Antonio Pittman. Yeah, maybe that's I love to know

Yeah, I love that man and and you know, I mean, but you look at bow Jackson

You know, average six point yards six point one yards for carry

Without really a lot of breakaway

You know, there wasn't a lot of you know long runs in that last year and frankly, we weren't good at great at running the ball last year

And um, I'm I'm not sure that has to do with your coordination

Um, the lack of a credible winning threat for the quarterback position

You know, whatever you want to you offensively whatever you want to put the the things but he had a really good year

One year come fresh off an injury like a massive injury that ended a senior year in high school

So um, I like I think this guy's the limit for this guy. I think he could come in

Um, you know, I wish that we saw him a little bit in the spring

But you know from what I'm hearing, you know that athletically he's gonna be full-go in the summer and obviously into the fall

So now I think he's got to be the guy you know, obviously you can talk about

Turbo Rodgers I was I say a West legend bay you think what all the other guys that can bring stuff

But you need a bell cow and I think he's got to be the bell cow and he's got to be the guy and I think he's he's forced to do it

Yeah, I like I like that pitman comparison because pitman I think that's fair

Pitman was not one of the best backs in the house a history, but to me he was underrated and slept on he was very good

He had he broke away obviously multiple times

He had pretty good vision. He fell forward like pitman to me

Is a an unappreciated back in a house to history. I'll say that

So um, I like that calm. I think Bo Jackson

I think he has a chance to be to be slightly better than pitman at his highest level

But we'll see it's still it's still very early

But we shall see uh, okay, obviously JJ Smith

Uh, you know, there's nothing really more to say about that now Kyle Parker

Okay, so let me just name the all the receivers JJ Smith, Kyle Parker, Brandon, and it's now next to Parker

He put a note speed next to and it's better than ever. Okay

So interesting. What are your thoughts? I want to ask you this no matter

What are your thoughts on Parker and in this starting in the top three

Because a lot of people and I'm not saying I agree with this, but a lot of people think it's either in this or Parker

in the slot

As opposed to both and then my other question is

If we go for wide who's the fourth receiver against uh, who to heck we played first game

I forget Kent state or somebody

Those are my questions for you Nevada

Well, I think there's you know, I think mix in there's another thing you got to remember is that you know

Arthur Smith has a propensity for the two tight-end looks to true and if you do that

That means you're only having two wide receivers out there, you know, I'm giant. So you know

When when when we're two

You know, it's it's it's hard to imagine that that's not in us and Smith but right

Parker's really making a move and you know because he does provide that big speed

You want it's three, you know, obviously Parker's the guy when it's four

Um, I think it's got to be presented in junior

But Devin McKeon's

Devin McKeon's making a play though, you know, I mean, and he's a real player as well

So yeah, I think it maybe depends on you know the matchup and what they're trying to do and and I think for Arthur Smith

It's going to make a difference

You know whether you know he's loving playing around with these hashmark things for the putting you know

Three guys to one side have been putting jg on the other because he's got a lot of room to roam out there when they do that. So you know

I think it really I think it really depends and I think lots going to be played out here

Through the end of spring and into fall camp, but that's how I'd have him ranked right now. I agree. I definitely agree

And thank you for mentioning it. That's actually in my notes earlier when I was thinking about the two tight-end sets

12 personnel and

Just all of that like I don't think we're going to see a bunch of four-wides

Because of that, but when we do and if we do I agree

Chris Henry Jr. and I know people are saying Brock Boy

But Brock Boy to me Chris Henry Jr.'s size and match-up nightmare ability

Trump's even Brock Boy's

White Lightning, you know, antics

That doesn't mean Brock Boy won't be rotating in you know

I'm saying because Hankton plays a deeper rotation

but

Top four I think Chris Henry Jr. is going to be that fourth and then of course McEwen and Boyd

And I feel like I'm forgetting maybe Gilford he might be pushing you know to get in there

But we'll see I agree with that top four for sure

Titanate Roberts says good catching or blocking so this is an interesting one Nevada

And of course hunter-walsing transfer here from I believe Northwestern

Oh, and we played ball state. I said I forget who I said kid state ball state. It was learning them states

Ball state week one so anyway

With the tight ends Nate Roberts

To me Nevada, I feel like I'll be watching Nate Roberts the high four stars stood tight in that we went all in for

The for the first time as a true tight end this year because he was lined up at fullback so much

I can't Nevada. I can't even remember him running routes or just being out there as a true tight end

I know he was at times

But it's burnt in my brain of him in at the fullback position

Lee blocking

So to me, I'm kind of intrigued and excited to see how much of a stud he is as a actual true tight end Nevada. Do you share those thoughts?

Yeah, now I think I think the whole utilization of the tight end

In both the passing and the running game is is one of the big stories because again, that's an Arthur Smith staple

You know that you know he loves to use the tight ends and if you remember what Pittsburgh did last year

With that giant number that that giant tight end that guy that was like six foot eight

three hundred forty power, you know whatever that monster was and they bring it out there and and you know

If you lined up a corner back against them

He just pushed them around they ran right at you and if you

You put somebody bigger he ran past them and then those won't one of the games one of the favorite targets for Rodgers

So I think he loves the matchup concerns that that tight ends provide

On both sides of the ball and yeah, it'll be interesting to see how Nate Roberts does and this is

We've got a bunch of tight ends, but you know whether to Hunter Welching what you know, whoever the guy is

It's I think tight end utilization is really one of the big exciting stories

And not in a negative way like it last year every time I saw them put it that 13 or 14 person all out there

I wanted to throw up, you know, and we said that from day one never changed. It never worked. Not sure why we did it

This year you're going to get intelligent tight end utilization and again

That's more to Arthur Smith's specialty, so I'm excited about that. Yep exactly

And you know the intelligent tight end utilization because Ryan Day

And then look hard line

First year on the job is an OC. I mean if you're going to try to be innovative in NFL like

It's kind of hard to do it with for OC that is not NFL like

So yeah, Arthur Smith is going to know how to use these tight ends and really scheme it up

Darnell Washington is the is the cat from Pittsburgh and he was an absolute monster. You're right

For the Steelers. I had to look it up remember his name

But let's do the next thing here, which is the oh line. Let's do the whole line so we can move a little quicker. So he has

Left tackle Ian Moore stud left guard Luke my gummery experience center Carson rimmington right guard

Austin cerebell versatile and then right tackle Philip Daniels better than folks think

so

This oh line we've been talking about this oh line all all season

I know early on a lot of fans wanted them gone

Get them out of here. They suck Miami beat up on them in the ante beat up on them. They're done

Well in Ryan Day's pressur today he reiterated that he felt

That the staff felt the guys that came back could get better with more reps

Okay, these are not bums

Some of these guys have rings on their fingers and some of them are up and coming young guys who are like Ian Moore who these

They get more reps but has flash and show talent

What's your thoughts on his starting lineup?

Because I know you mentioned cook or right now not that's because you mentioned there's this some some guys dinged up

But Jake Cook was rapping

First team right guard. So anyway, what's your thoughts on his starting lineup?

I like it. I mean, I like it

You know clearly you've got a guy like Austin Sireveld is whose

Versatile enough to kick out the tackle if he needs to and either side left side or right side

But you know, that's alignment over a hundred starts combined between I'm going to the next season which is that's a crazy number of starts and starts in big game the the biggest games and this is I guess where

um

You know, I know if I know this is frustrating for H2 probably more so for H2 than for me

When people are on the offensive line you just have to kind of look back and kind of go

Man that offensive line

You have three starters from two years from that magical run of two years ago where we ran through

you know Tennessee

Oregon

Texas Notre Dame and you know consecutive you know the like you have three of those guys started from two years ago

You know

You're clearly

You know, it would be unusual for all of them have to have degraded in inability

You know so and so either you had some problems

schematically, you know, oh and or you played good opponents in last year you look at the two games we

Conoco struggled in

They were against the two teams to play for the national championship. They were against Indiana Miami

They're against teams that they both have guys are going to be highly ranked and

the

Drafted in the effort Bainby go before any player on our team. That's how that's how good Bain is

so

You know and and frankly in both those games, you know in one game

We gained his many yards the other one we outgain the other point

So like sometimes you got a tip you're half the opponent too and not just throw up your hands and go

Oh, wow, you know all hope is lost because

Indiana isn't doing that and they won the national championship and they didn't have exactly a stellar game against us and same thing with Miami

But you know

You know, we got beat by an opportunistic team. We churned them all over they didn't we missed a field goal

They didn't their quarterback scrambled ours didn't you know, you know saying so you can break it down and in a lot of different ways as you look at it and

I just think the offensive line is gonna be

I like the fact that we're not just depending on one guy or two guys or three guys

We could lose multiple guys on the offensive line without a degradation in thing

I think I have an Arthur Smith a former offensive line on himself

Coaching the offense as a former NFL head coach. I just think it's gonna be a nightmare difference

And I'm a super I'm as excited about the offense line as I am in a group on the team and HT said it best

He said it's the deepest unit on the team and it's I don't think it's particularly close and that's really saying something

That is that was a that was a great

Breakdown about a you said a lot of good things um

And

I just

It's just funny man with with some fans

This is why I always encourage people to and I know people are going some people aren't gonna listen

But listen to me. This is wisdom if you're going to be vocal on social media

If you're going to be at the water cooler at your job if you're going to be wherever

Try to educate yourself a little bit go back and watch the games

Go back and watch to get Nevada the amount of fans who go into the offseason

From months without rewatching some of these games

Have such a warped understanding of what actually happened and not just what actually happened

But the lack of perspective on what happened

The stuff you just mentioned you you mentioned like we missed it Figo

They didn't our quarterback didn't like like all of that those little tidbits were very very very important

Those were close losses the Indiana game was a close down to the in lost. That was a very good team

They had a veteran quarterback

They made a couple more plays than we did

And that's just that's just what happened. Mendoza when asked said we were the tougher matchup over Miami

Listen, we just we came up short. Does that mean that we settle with that and we're happy with that of course not

What do we do to get over that hump that's always going to be the discussion

But I'm just trying to tell fans like going into the offseason like we just bombs get rid of everybody. You know we blew it

Nah, man. We're gonna be right back this year. I think even stronger so

Well be and I want to do one more point and there's like you think of that Indiana game and again

These are none of these are excuses, but the I always say what is it an excuse or is it a reason

Just another reason just trying to think about okay that Indiana game was a week after we beat Michigan up in Ann Arbor

Okay, that was that it meant Michigan was an emotional game

You know, I'm saying we had a lot vested in that game emotionally, you know

Just you personally had a lot best in that game. Oh, you know how you felt when that thing

I mean our guys finished you to sit in this thing in the stands crying. I like like it was a big game

And then you have to run it back a week later on the road

You know, that was a big 10 chance supposed in their house basically in their house

Um and and and and that week went up and hardline announces these leaving to go software in our tire often the thing goes and you know

Into the thing, you know, I'm saying. Yeah, so it's like yeah, you know

You had a lot to deal with

That that goes just beyond that these aren't robots these aren't guys just on you know Xbox 360 where you just punch in a number

And they go out there and play at the thing like they're again, none of that are excuses

But maybe just made their their reasons why

We wouldn't quite as finish sharp or might not have been able to make that one because like you said that was like that

That game was literally a one game play I cannot do one game one play

And they made one more play than we did and you know, we don't need to talk about missing a 28 yard field goal

He could have went to the league and maybe got drafted in the four fifth round

Maybe maybe maybe a team would have took him late third. I doubted four fifth round as my guest

Not because he sucks just because he has an incomplete film

Coming back this year. I expect him to take another leap and just be a dog and possibly work himself into

Depending on how great he does late first second round third at the worst guy

Edrick Euston is who I was very happy about I saw your response in the thread in Nevada

That step up where he's gonna go for like you know really really good player to like really really good player

And if we do that that's that's gonna be excellent news for the Buckeye defense in 2026

But yet Ryan Day was just talking about how kind of like dang how disappointing he was and not for a Duke for

I'm sorry, Riley not to get the reps

But they're going to get him squared away in the summer. He's going to be a dog man

He flashed last year. It's just unfortunate. He can't get the spring reps

But he's a smart tough kid. He's going to be doing a lot of mental reps

They'll get him prepared

But the point I'm making is Nevada and everyone is that we got some real excitement in that linebacker room

We just need to see it pay off on the field from some of these guys like offered

We've seen Christian from in Wisconsin. We know he's good

Peyton Pierce shows some things last year, but there's another level

That's a position Nevada. I'm really really excited to see who pops this year

Yeah, no, I I agree. Yeah. I mean, Alfred's just so

You know, so athletically gifted and you know, obviously petty John is as well, you know

You know out for this the uh for the spring

But no, I think this is the beauty of the trance reporter

Defensively when you talk about the first two positions for you can add a James Smith a John Walker a quay

Resol of Boac and sin a Christian allegory

You know, I'm saying like where would we be without those guys?

You know, I mean we'd have a lot of we saw names. He'd have other names

But they would be unproven guys that hadn't played at the college level. So

You know, another reason why I love the way the Ohio State's doing the portal and and I think you know this position group is certainly one that's

That's been helped by it and I think you know for

For a guy like Matt Petroche who likes to stand up guys off the defensive end spot

Like to play a lot of different exotic fronts whether it be three four four three's five twos

Having versatile lineback really helps you out and we certainly have a lot of guys that are versatile and that that's great news for us

Yep definitely definitely and um and the in the great thing about Maddie P. He's going to he's very intentional about

Playing to the strength of stress of each player

You know, I'm saying so it's just like I mean we're going to maximize every guy and you're going to have to account for them

And I just I love it and and that's why I'm just I'm even more encouraged and excited that these guys that need to show on the field of the potential

That man is going to get the potential out of them

Alfred he when he gets in a field he will be used properly. I'm very confident in that so um anyway

So next up

Second to last position group here is uh the the DB's so he put a gentleman claim underrated

Which I've been you know, I've been screaming for months now. He don't get enough love

Jermaine Matthew Swagger of course

Devin Sanchez leveled up and then little

Junior from Florida state veteran

So yeah, Ryan Day mentioned little again or a little again. I think it was 10 May who asked him

You know guy standing out almost out the ball or a little was mentioned again. I mean he he keeps getting mentioned

He's he's go to me. I think at this point

It will be very disappointing Nevada if Earl Little Junior was not an impact player this year

Not saying he's going to be Caleb Downs, but an impact player

Back there based off this. I mean he's come in just

Almost out the gate. It seems like no doubt out the game to turn ahead to Nevada

You know, I think Earl Little's been great. Um, you know, I've been asked about Terry more

He's slower to come along, you know, have that injury slower to come along

Enter the system, but as Terry more may have been a little bit of a disappointed thus far

Earl Little's been a bright spot and certainly a guy that you know, the house. They feels like they can kind of lean into and you know when you look at McLean Sanchez

You know, Matthews little that's that's for that's for pretty good players and you've got the dominant Kelly as that you know third corner

slot guy

Third safety potential. I mean, I mean you got a lot of different options

In terms of doing it and I think I think I'll have to like in what they're having they feel like they they they had a home when the port over

They're a little for sure

Yep, and you you mentioned Sanchez here's Sanchez picking off Jeremiah Smith. I don't know who threw it

But the point is he got a pick and Sanchez his potential man his size speed athleticism

I mean he is the prototypical NFL corner

He just needs to step up and prove it and we've been hearing good things right day said some good things, but obviously

Um with as a coach should with the compliments comes the pressure and the

We you got to step up prove it

You know me like there's more to do and so

I'm definitely excited because Sanchez to me has the highest stilling talent wise on the team as far as the corners go

And so yeah if he can step up and just be what we think he could be

Yeah, that's going to be a real nice corner tandem for sure in Nevada

Yeah, when the Sanchez you know noticeably thicker and you know stronger doesn't look he looked a little slight last year

Um, obviously a guy that they had playing early on that great defense

So you know what they thought about him

I think he's again poised for a breakout season here

Um or how to say the guy doesn't like for confident him and Jermaine both don't like running confidence

I love that uh that

Things been going around to the Brock Boy versus Jermaine Matthews were brought kind of cooked them

Um, but yeah, that's gonna happen even the best ones

But those those guys don't ever shut up they keep it going the whole time and uh stir it stuff absolutely set the tone for the defense

And uh certainly guy we're gonna be leaning into this year on defense

I mean, I've said this many times. Mike Nugent was seven for 14 his freshman year. I don't have to say 50%

With the fan base B be patient with the guy that was seven for 14
