Otzelberger's Iowa State Signs 10-Year Contract, Pursues Top Recruit Davis

On April 30th, Iowa State Cyclone's men's basketball just locked in their future with head coach T.J. Otslberger signing a 10-year contract extension that bumps his pay to $6 million a year.

This comes after he turned the program around, big time, from just two wins the season before he arrived, to five straight trips to the NCAA tournament.

Otslberger's secret sauce has been smart recruiting, pulling in perfect fits from the transfer portal and high school ranks to keep the momentum.

Rolling. Now they're chasing class of 2027 standout Donovan Davis, a four-star small forward from Wisconsin ranked in the top 100.

Nationally, schools like Wisconsin, Iowa, Marquette, and Nebraska all hosted him recently, but Iowa State got the most visits, seven trips to Ames.

Davis wrapped his official visit there on April 29th and says he's deciding in the next week or so with an announcement date dropping soon.

Landing him would be huge, especially after losing key assistant coach JR Blount, their top recruiter on him, it'd show Otslberger's program is, built to last no matter what.
