Our Real Atlas Builds and Use Cases

About this episode

The episode moved quickly from theory to practical experience with GPT-6 Astra. After revisiting OpenAI’s “Alien Mind” paper and the conundrum of using more powerful AI to monitor frontier systems, the hosts spent most of the show comparing what they had actually built with Astra. Andy used it to compare two versions of an application being developed separately in Claude Code and Codex, reading the codebases, memory files and plans before producing recommendations for bringing the projects together. Karl pushed Astra’s computer-use abilities further by having it watch tutorials for Final Cut and DaVinci Resolve, open the applications and practice techniques while it learned. He then used it with Blender to turn house plans into a 3D scene and build a cinematic real estate video. The larger implication was more important than the demo: an agent may soon be able to learn Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Asana or other business software much like a human employee learns it. Community examples included Astra turning files into social assets and handling a client email, creating the requested marketing asset and emailing it back. That led into a discussion about automating sales research, the much harder problem of capturing expert instinct that exists only in people’s heads, and whether AI could free people to spend more time on human conversations rather than administrative work. The final section covered Astra as a visual learning tool, using AI to teach rather than simply provide answers, auditing old prompts and instructions that may hold newer models back, whether Astra qualifies as AGI, contrasting approaches to AI education in the U.S. and China, and Boodle Box’s controlled AI environment for higher education. Near the end, Anne upgraded her ChatGPT plan during the show and had Astra assemble a branded conference video from existing materials, producing in minutes a project she said would normally require dozens of back-and-forth turns.

Hey, what's going on everybody welcome to the daily I show we're live. It's 10 a.m. on the East Coast It is September 8th, 2026 Which doesn't mean that anybody else other than my buddy just turned 50 today So happy buddy birthday to my buddy Shane who I've known since college so 30 years now or something so I hope everybody's having a great day with us today. We have Andy and Andy Beth and I'm Brian And yeah, we're with you for most of the time today and he's got a duck out a little early, but I'm glad you got you got us We'll see if anybody else pops into the door How are you guys doing yesterday? We had a fun show We really got into the idea that this the paper on the alien brain that came out of Open AI and I feel like we we actually spent some good time on it in fact I've gone even further and used that as the premise for the conundrum because if you think about it that paper Really presents a easy conundrum which is Okay, AI is happening. Let's just let's just assume we can't pump the brakes

AI is happening right and it's increasingly happening as we know it's speeding up It's not just plotting along it's some pace that we can plot out. It's exponentially increasing so we know that too So the conundrum really is just the basis that comes out of that paper from Jacob who wrote the paper of the chief AI scientists which is just to say Okay, we're in a really uneasy place here like we talked about on the show yesterday do we Create more AI because we're saying the only way Us as humans can actually maybe track what Frontier pushing frontier model AI is doing is by having a better AI What's the word for it? Investigators not the word for it, but anyway you know what I mean or Do you say well that's crazy because that's that's just a dog chasing its tail like you can never get ahead of that if You are constantly building new AI checkers for new AI models at what point is the human even really in the loop anymore

Other than just to say I guess so that looks right. I guess I believe you I created this AI to go look at this AI and do now do we need a third AI in a very simple a simple simplified way of thinking about this to check the first checker Like what what what where the hell is that stop? It's just like it's it's spirals at a control Says one side this thing like why would we do that the other side is saying hey if you are the belief that we can't slow down AI Meaning that as I was saying in the comments yesterday. It's like the nuclear race. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, let's all draw down you first That's right. It's it's three. It's the three spider-man's pointing at each other as I was saying to Cisco yesterday in the comments and so if you believe that that's the case that I think unless there's some major event some major break out of the box get into some real serious places Event that would equally affect China as it does Russia as it does the US as it does Canada and all and everybody Worldwide said whoa whoa whoa whoa we can't

Pause pause we can't have this because it had a worldwide impact that went across borders geogra- our Political borders or you know country borders If you if that doesn't happen then we're still on this ever ever increasing pace through holocaust are going in ever steeper hill So the conundrum is just based off that paper which is to say like well Which one and both have very good arguments for them both of them have very good you know blockers to them and why you would say no Don't that doesn't sound like the right move at all, but Which one is it so anyway? I just want to bring that up because that will actually be the conundrum episode as a matter of fact I even you know in a Google notebook LM now Gemini notebook You can default for the The host the two AI co-hosts right That dude actual conundrum part after I do my intro normally I just set that as the default whatever the normal length is I don't do short. I just do the middle one This actually one I haven't listened to yet. I actually defaulted it to long which probably means it'll be closer like maybe a 25 minute conversation if I had a guess

Which I actually think is is valid and when I do my intro when it goes out on Saturday I actually say that hey I purposely made this a longer Episode because I think this is the type of discussion that we really need to be Digging into more so anyway that's coming up I just want to let people know that that that conundrum episode comes out on Saturday But it's actually directly off the conversation we had on the show yesterday So if you missed it, please go back and took a look What I was gonna say to you guys and you know Carl's with us now too and and hanging out with us today We really didn't touch Astra a bit Andy you were saying at the time you still didn't have access has that changed at all Yeah, I used it last night you did So I'd be curious to hear just like maybe before we get into other news What are y'all building? What are you what are you guys doing with ashtray? I still have not done it every time I come up to that level of I'm gonna use ashtray for this I bet and I check it out and I go no no no I'll just use soul and I'll try to do it or I'll try to use Terra because I don't want to assume that I need ashtray And also it's going to

Turn and burn my my tokens in record I have a $20 plan. So what are y'all doing with ashtray? What have you even seen that's been good with ashtray other than that it's the token monster as Ben Bites was saying today, which was making me laugh. He said he went through 40 no For sorry not 48 it looked like a eight four billion tokens and built Nothing really is the way And I have a feeling that's what a lot of you are they're like I did a thing But I also didn't do anything you guys actually done anything with ashtray that you're like I got a thing to tell you Yeah, well, I'll just tell you what I did with it last night So as you know if you followed the show I'm building a An application of consumer phasing application and I'm doing it in clawed code with opus 5 and in codex with soul 5.6 so what I did with astero as I said to the codex Instance I switched it to astero and I said I want you to look at both of these developments

And I want you to evaluate Them for a list of things that I wanted it to you know consider And importantly I wanted it to develop a forward-looking plan for the codex implementation Codex implementation that Compassed and incorporated any features or functions that the clawed code one Has implemented that and I gave it a few examples of things that clawed coded done that I thought were advancements enhancements of the user experience and that it ought to consider and so it went off and Burned through all of its tokens in the first stage of that process But read through every memory file every plan file It looked at the actual code base over there for clawed code It looked at its own code base did the diff and came back with a really clear Summary and recommendation of what it needed to do in order to catch up in certain respects

But what it should also not do in the other one and that was you know I said well, that's what I expect us to be able to do and it did it really well and It also went when I turned it on to start writing the plans for the forward development Twice last night it ran into or I should say yesterday because it my yesterday or last night is really intermittent you know Sessions that span the five-hour time limits You know not so cleanly But anyway twice I ran into the five-hour time limit using Astra So I thought it was really really good I also just mentioned that I read this morning an article from Vibov Cicinti who is a person whose perspective I Respect who did a side-by-side comparison of a number of Writing-oriented tasks that he thinks are more in line with what people will actually use

AI for in the workplace and or you know for their own personal uses And he ended up leaning toward fabled he said fabled You know what's cleaner and better and I would probably you know go without I'd probably deliver the output of fabled You know more directly without modification than I do the things that Astra did so it's still I you know I continue to believe that Astra is really competent especially in the coding environment I don't know that people in the typical chat GPT subscription for the You know the normal use cases will notice that oh wow if fable which can do an amazing job doing 3d You know printing or something over here. I don't know that you're gonna end up wanting to spend the money or the or the usage limits on on Astra or fable

When the other models that are cheaper are are gonna be competent sufficient Wouldn't you say though that like some of the big holdups and by the way I Why don't really use fable a lot. I still use opus 5 and well frankly a lot of 4.8 at the moment But um, you know sign I haven't used Astra at all so I can't really speak to that but what I would say is like don't you think that maybe there's some Potential benefits on the Astro side, but I suppose it would also be 5.6 sole in terms of creating Assets in terms of visual assets because it can create its own It's got his own built-in image generator, right? So we can just go do that for you if I could I saw it do that yesterday But I was using 5.6 sole In codex and also the computer use which you know I'm not I don't really think fable is at that level obviously obviously you can open up your chrome and I have it I still have it to this day use playwright and that's fine But it's not at the level where I think it should be I know Beth you've used some plugins and things like that to

Maybe circumvent that a little bit, but anyway, let's bring it to everybody else Beth or I think Carl you also said Something and if you've been running with ashtray. I'm just curious what you guys are building and then hey By the way anybody in the in the chat to double a Ron is also he said I live in ashtray. I'm like tell us tell us what you're doing We'll share it right here on the show so if you are using asher, let's put it in the chat and we'll we'll bring it up I think the big thing for me is um And sorry like I have so much things running right now because I'm having it use unreal 5 unreal engine 5 um So the thing that the biggest takeaway I got out of this isn't what I can 3d wise and build which I've been doing a lot it's more of Can use your applications so well like the the final frontier for me was a final cut in DaVinci There is no application that could have used that by itself Um it created by itself

Um what I actually did is had codex Using asher watch a watch a bunch of youtube videos on how to Use final cut so I know it can use final cut But I wanted to use a certain style So I had it watch a bunch of about 12 to 15 of these things and then I had it create Like just from scratch the 3d renders I got from blender and created a ute um sent you a cinematic video of that so we can watch that um and then I had it watch a bunch of DaVinci resolve videos too But what's even more pressing for me was Yeah, people won't use that who cares what who what cares is you start getting it to watch sales force hub spot gira Asana doesn't matter Have it actually use those tools because it is Pretty good at using those tools to the point I'm not sure

Yeah, an mcp is good, but this is just as good going into the system and doing all sorts of crazy stuff with it So to me that is the more practical use case is if a business Person is using whatever software desktop Web app it doesn't matter just have it use it and this is when we're really getting into multi-agent orchestration Because it's like hey going sales force do this do this do this do this do this do this then I need to do this Then do this then do this then do this and it'll do it like there's no I in 5.6 it did it, but I had to have very concise instructions Now I'm like I want you to do this. Oh, yeah, and I want you to remember this oh cool like that's how good I don't think that's being showcased enough where it can like the computer use aspect is really really good Think that is to me the biggest takeaway out of all this is computer use And I think that's an area where I maybe I foolishly didn't have a bit of blinders on as far as where I was going

Not that I didn't think a computer used to get better, but because we have seen you mentioned. I think you mentioned Asana um, I just built a um, I just I just built my way out of Asana right on offer an internal project or whatever as well as a time tracking one I built it, vetted it Tested it showed it to a co-worker and they said I don't think we should keep paying for these subscriptions Yeah, you know you've you've built the solution outside of that But that was me working on it wasn't a huge lift, but I was able to do that but The bass bass majority of people are just gonna be thrilled to do what you just said hey I already used this tool. I don't either have the resources. I don't have somebody in house who can go build me the the alternate free version of this But a next best thing is I can just have a bunch of multi-agents that are good enough to go use the tool as a human And do that and then monitor it as a human. I mean that's a major I have I have no business using blender. I have no business using unreal engine

No, I still don't know how to use it But what it came out of it is like oh my goodness So now I got me thinking okay Okay, so here's a fun thing too. So while and I didn't tell it to do this while I had it watched YouTube videos on Final Cut and DaVinci It opened Final Cut it opened DaVinci and did practice edits while it was watching so I'm like oh I can do that with any tool any tool. I just feed it and it could practice And then I use the practice to apply to something else so You think about like what the implications of that is it can use applications better than you can Better than I can I just have to set the environment and what I want the output to be I'm still responsible check the output Um, but what's really neat about this too is after I fed it a whole bunch of YouTube videos the final YouTube

The final video that I created for me it actually downloaded um an instrumental to go with the video And then it credited the Artist at the very end So it downloaded I didn't tell it to this downloaded the the music put it in Faded in faded out didn't tell to do that put titles and then I was like That's pretty crazy what and I didn't like I'm very very particular in how I edit in Final Cut and DaVinci It was I would still think I'm so better than it, but it did a really good job And I'm like I that just cuts a lot of my workflow now if we can do this It is a token churn like I think I wasn't in the billions like Last couple days. I was in like seven 800 million tokens used Um, but we had so many resets like I had like three resets plus another reset yesterday

So I sure so I was just pumping out as much as I can With a $20 a male plan you probably wouldn't I wouldn't do the blender thing But you can definitely use Like you can use it to train On whatever tool you're using it's not hard like it doesn't burn that much when it's watching Quoting co-watching the videos, but it's really neat having it watch and then practice what it's watching at the same time I thought that was really cool to see it do it. Yeah, so it opened that did it of that's like pretty amazing You're on me you bet Question you're using pro right like you have astra pro Oh, yeah, I've full Like doing model or like my tier like your pricing tier But I thought there's a model too. Are you not using a better model? No, I'm using astra you can I can go all the way to ultra astra ultra

But I most of the time I've been using all the astra medium high That's usually what I'm using it. Yeah I'm using astra medium because I'm still on the $20 uh and and the reset last night where I was what got me I was like okay We got two hours. We're gonna use all the codex tokens and then we're gonna get them all back So I did want to play that like minute video for you too because I thought that was this was all done by um Uh Hello So your video is pretty choppy. Let's let's see but okay, let's let's see if it I'm not sure Your system's gonna send two videos your system's gonna uh Who blew a gas gittier in a second especially if you're trying to run uh final final cut or uh I turned off final cut um, it's using blender on okay, let's see let's see

It's working You All right, can we explain what this is for people So what I did is I took a bunch of images from A home builder site with the floor plans and then I actually had blender recreated as 3d scene like in 3d and then I had Codex sent you build a real estate video out of it And gave it like so I had it watch a bunch of real estate videos and it tried to mimic how

You know real estate image videos were being done so slow cinematic this kind of stuff And then yeah, so the knee part was this I thought was at the end So just that and I'm I don't know where it found that but it credit it so like that's awesome Go go Scott Buckley from us. Yeah, it's ghost. Oh, my please so yeah credit credit to him Please, please don't be monetized us Uh, yes for our video today And we got we could give them credit so yeah, I was thinking too Hopefully hopefully we're all good there We need a swear jar because Carl is demonetizing us a fair amount on low weight shares So I might need a little okay Need a little uh Yeah, it doesn't happen that often it's a we we mostly get through but every once in a while like we had one It was the robot car like from a week or two ago We were showing the robot and the video playing on their their sizzle reel which was ridiculous

But anyway, it was that's what got us, you know, it was okay But it did be monetized that particular episode, which is fine So okay, so let's keep going Beth and then in yeah, let's go around the horn here and just hear what else any and if you have one You know for math so so I updated Hermes which has been Sort of behind of the thing because I still was using an interface that um, that didn't update as quickly as Hermes did So we did a big update yesterday and then I did a project where I connected um my lady wire tap my amazon lady wire tap Alexa Uh, two Hermes so we built an Alexa skill through the dev um Oh, that is not Alexa. What is that thank you for the fire alarm that's gonna happen anyway She's connected I don't have to go but I do know some put on mute um

But um, she's connected now and I can take notes and send it to Hermes and then have Hermes do something with it um We can go back to you Beth. It's okay. Uh, and let's get over to you really quick since you're joining the hanging out with us today Have you done anything with with atlas? Did you want to share have you played around with it at all for all the all the wonderful things By the way great post on LinkedIn. I think I'm like a bear to old on that but it was back you and done Oh, wasn't that so cute It was a very cute. It was also great. Yeah, I got in trouble though From dad Yes, because I didn't I didn't ask for he's the CMO and I didn't ask for his sign off But there are just some things yeah here listen The algorithm on LinkedIn is so awful that if I don't post Facebook like posts every once in a while pimping out my husband and myself as cute little business Business partners. Yeah, I won't get any like I have to if I'm gonna The algorithm requires certain things and that helps so hopefully this week

I'll have a little bit of algorithm juice Granted at the expense of pimping out my relationship That's okay. That's okay People do ask me all the time what it's like to work with my spouse and I can talk I have a dissertation on it but the fact of the matter is Your You know marital dynamics tend to play out and but they play out in a fairly Object it out my experience in an objective business like You know environment and then we backport those learnings into our marriage if that makes sense. Yeah Yeah, that's only strange, but that's how it works. But yes, okay So every time we have a new You know really really super shiny object. I would say the take home is that it makes me better up just a project feature You know tool It makes me better at the lower level tools because like with astra I tried to give it

Like a Carl Yeh level prompt and then just go to bed You know and end up with like you know a full tour for somebody to buy my House in my you know in my housing development like it's just not like that for me yet um But again, it's helping me make sure that everything is connected all the resources are there Like I never thought about asking astra to go watch video. Is that what you were saying? Carl watch like explainer and training videos and how to use the tools and then go and use them better Yeah, cuz it can use the tools already like quite well like it can use blender But I'm like yeah, I want to just level it up even more. You want to level it up? Why don't I just have it watch a bunch of other videos Um because I saw someone on next say oh To like have it watch even more am I okay? Watch more watch so I you know come came up with the plan and it was watching

Like five six seven videos like in it row And then while he was doing that it would open Final cutter Da Vinci and just start practicing on Any video that it had there on any of the things that it was learning So that was I thought that was kind of neat where it could do that some like that means any program any program that So got me thinking to him like you could just buy a program for a month and have it Practice on that if you really want it, but for word please It doesn't matter what program you have as long as uh, I'm sure there's a bunch of tutorial videos on whatever program you're probably using So okay along along oh sorry back did you have something? Okay, along oh go yay no siren that was my Dane no siren good good we're in the clear um So I like I really love knowing that it can help us use the tools better by doing that I did that with a

With like a program. I had manus Watch all the videos on a whole program learn all the things, but that was a long time that was like I know maybe a year ago But what happened was it did exactly What the program said like that was what it could do did what the program told it to do and then that Output was not usable to me because it was too Literal read the program did the thing not read the program did all the thinking you know looked at all with my connectors looked at everything that I've ever done and then did it so This is very exciting for me with astra um I have regular just $20 a month. I'm thinking about if I can get a breakthrough here I'm thinking about downgrading my clawed because it has been very useless lately I'm not trying to go down a rabbit hole of of beefing but it truly

Has been pretty useless and very like we're in the laces right now because we can't get production quality stuff out We're trying to rebrand one of our one of our brands and it's just a disaster so So I'm thinking downgrading clawed Upgrading Chat GPT and seeing if in part that behavior on my part helps me lean into figuring out how astra can really do what I Wanted to do and If I can meet the moment with astra I'm not entirely sure I can I may end up just going back and saying you know some days I'm like You know 20 20 22 chat GPT probably could have done this better than Claude honestly Like because yeah anyway, so that's kind of where I am with astra. I have really high hopes especially because I've started to migrate some a lot of stuff actually back over to open AI

um That's my astra story. It's not a breakthrough. I don't have a video to show but I did give it the prompt and go to bed last night and I woke up with a question The question was in the first 1-100th of the project. Yeah Um, well, I'll share uh really quick um While I want to share with double a sec because I asked them to and then so I want to share with you saying in the comments but also um, I think it was Tibo Who's the I still don't know who he what he does it open AI But he's the one that does talk about the recent Resets he just does the really if he does the reset so like just keep it make sure he's happy He also yeah a lot of people like him when he has something to say although he said it was coming around nine o'clock last night And it did so uh, I eventually it whenever the global reset happened it was beyond when I finally gave up on the laptop last night So I do have a bone to pick with him on that but um The what I was gonna say is He actually said I don't know I don't know where it was was in the last couple of days maybe going into yesterday's show

He said you know astra was our internal like bump tool when nobody else knew and we were using it internally Astra was what was we were crushing with inside opening out before anybody else had the tool they nice saw that the Average output was 3.1 times human output is what they were on a consistent basis in internally at open AI Getting out of astra and just think about that 3.1 human days At you know times for astra and that's you know course look I'm sure unlimited tokens unlimited budget and then of course who couldn't maybe do amazing things if they didn't have to worry about Resets or money or things like that. So is it fair? No, is it fair when you look at something that maybe Ethamolic did or whatever but he's been clear about it and said like look I They gave me early access and I didn't have a budget They just say go go to town right which is the right thing to do but you do have to remember that like or Carl saying like oh

I have the upper tier, you know I'm able to do 20x or whatever that equivalent is for astra that's important to know because otherwise It just appears that everybody can open blender and go hog and that's or ham hog hog Hog both Hog ham yes, thank you Or ham I think they're supposed to be separate or ham or yeah or Anyway Sometimes I can't use the right words on this show But anyway, I wouldn't bring that up so okay, so that's what that's what opening I was talking about and then Tibo's post last night as I was looking for the Re thing from a for previous minutes was from last night said Uh, I think it's safe to say we are so back that was this whole expo said just maybe that is Hey, open a eyes have in a moment right now good for them. They haven't had all the moments this year I am throttic is that a lot more but

As we talked about anthropic has some some explain and to do okay double a W run is said it will take uploaded jpeg files or mp4 files and go through a folder structure that by the end Gives you an asset result like a facebook reel or poster etc. Yeah, that's a huge That's a huge that's that's something almost everybody if you do an any sort of content creation That's could be big. I'm glad you mentioned a double a rom because uh I actually have a project to work with my wife where that's good to know um also and astra has made me able to level up So will receive an email from my client do what it says and automatically email them back and asset basically Automating the marketing assistant role. Yeah, I also really really valuable I mean for the work we do with scale obviously something like that would be really really big as well So yeah, and that that's a huge part of it right like what's the number one the number one thing? I've been asked for year over year over year From clients is I hear you Brian. It can do

Look, we've nailed highly personalized email sequences I we solved that problem a year and a half ago at scaled right and we just continue to make it better for our clients solid What most people want to know though is yes, but go go pre fill my list And that has been something that's been a bit of a uh, what is called like a white whale right because What that usually means is it's got to um go in and Attach to something like a zoom info or attach to some of these other data sets of proprietary data sets of contacts In order to do that now you can already connect to their API. So that's nothing new But I have still to this day never seen anything that is Really really good in terms of building super high-deaf quality lists that then pick up Because we have the AI build out from there. We have almost built the entire AI Sales stack that part is like there's not much left there we can read and write from this year and do all the things Or like Carl saying like hey now go do the things what I'd even an mcp just literally log in and go click through the buttons and do the things

So I'll be really interested and I haven't seen anything just yet, but like since double. They brought it up W. They run right up I'll be really interested to see if anybody puts out a video where It's not all smoke and mirrors. I'll be able to see through it in a second But somebody says you know what I used aster and maybe I connected it to a tool like a polo or connected it to a tool like zoom info And by doing that I essentially wiped out what would be like a clay if anybody knows clay and what it does And there to go. I don't use clay anymore I had asked to build it and it actually fills our funnel so that our sales folks can go do what they do best Right, so that's but that's I'll just be really curious to see if anybody like Definitely says they've solved for that. I have not seen it yet on any AI model because it's very very tricky to do It's easy to say build a list, but anybody can build a crap list Anybody can build a crap list is so easy to fake it I think okay really good list. I gotta talk about lists

I gotta talk about lists and AI because when I die the best thing about it Will be not making lists anymore Like literally because we're Honestly Not no lists and there's one other thing that I want to never have to do no I mean, I don't grocery shop anyway, but if if there's an afterlife where we have to go to the grocery store No, thank you, but the whole the the ability to not make lists when I'm dead will be awesome But this is such a ginormous sticking point in my industry because So much knowledge is not in it's not quantified. It's floating around It's like in the brains of people and that knowledge is typically Not even tangible Right, so then you have to so let's say it's um my instinct is that so and so needs to be on the list They do not fit any criteria

Like they just don't they're not gonna fit into any but any bucket, but I know unfortunately the I know so and so should be on the list It's completely out of hand and there are all sorts of rules on Can you put them on the list are they important enough to put them on the list like all All of that stuff so to your point. Yes I can produce a banger list and I can show my clients look We increased your list of potential donors for this event from a to b look we tripled it And then we look like rock stars except you know 18 24 36 months from now none of these people have materialized as anything Yeah, the no ROI on it. Yeah, no ROI on it. So my Hill is that I got to get over is Also how to make good lists, but also also how to somehow hook into people's brains

To get that knowledge out of their break out of their head. Yeah, and so I'm doing all that stuff right about multimodal The okay, we'll sit down and we'll talk about it like all those things But if there's a way somehow and I just can't crack the code on it For that ambient Instinctual knowledge to somehow be quantified and able to put into a database That's what I'm looking for Yeah, I agree with you and look you're basically saying what I hear a lot Which is that there's institutional knowledge there's a feeling but I always said it so many asked for a five-part story when that's Alarm went off earlier My five-part story is what I've said before I'm a carrot you said into the comments for reaching What I would say is that that's exactly right right like I would go into the I a fire scene and I asked my chief one time I said this on the show before with the chief smith And I just said you know how the hell you know what to do It's just like the world was burning down around us quite literally. There's a apartment complex multiple buildings on fire

Then you know he rattled up a bunch of stuff and he said well, you know Um, I just have an instinct about it, you know And so as I sat with him like 3 a.m. The morning. We're just we need to one of us have showered yet We're both just covered in From coming off and you just coming off that high of running a fire scene right and we're just sitting there probably eating around the kitchen table or something like that And I was like you know, I'd think about that chief and you know you call it instinct You call it you know a feeling a gut feeling or whatever But what I see is the cumulative effect of 20 years of experience You don't think about it this way, but we all he in his situation was looking at a fire scene and going Well, there's a lot of common variables and stimuli similarities between this fire and A thousand others that I've been a part of and so and it's the same right with your business You're so integrated you and your husband so integrated at that business that of course there's just going to be like weird intangibles that are hard to To vocalize hard to get into a data set because it pulls from

22 different disparate sources of information that are all in your brain And then you go well get that out we need to get it out and can't be the bottleneck right You know, so we need to pull out of the brain's brain and that's difficult and then layer that all into like you're saying with List or trying to build lists for people it is very very difficult to do here's the thing though I do think AI will solve for it The reason why I'm excited about that is because as bet you were saying it's going to push people into more Humanly human conversations, which I think is one of the great things I think I mean, and you might be able to speak this war because you you put you have put on conferences before I think both virtually and in person Yeah, right. Yeah, so you're the one to ask about this because I never No, I've never put on a conference not at the level you have But I think what it's actually getting increased attendance when you take All that other work off of people's shoulders and they have the ability to breathe pop their head up and go You know what I would actually like to do go to that conference and be on the showroom floor and have 32 conversations and also I'd like to have those conversations and not have to write a damn note

I'd like it all to go back into my database. I'd like it all to be Conversations everything. I don't want don't give me a damn card I don't want your card with your name or your email in the back of it I just want to have the conversations. I want to have my recorder Everybody to be cool with it and every and AI taking that information so I can build my list through Natural conversations and I honestly believe that's where this will head Yeah, or at least people will take advantage of that. They'll have the breath to go You know what I can now spend three days over at this conference in Vegas or you know Any time any conference ever want to go to is either in Vegas or LA and I can't make it You know, but like it's always on the west coast and so it's like you know Oh, I do want to go over there and you know what I am just gonna spend I'm a salesperson I am just gonna spend The next three days having conversations with people and not have a care in the world about how it's grabbed or anything I'm just gonna be the best of me and I get really excited about that idea. Isn't that why we're where in the world is Carl Yeah, no Because Carl is just on his speaking tour

I got on a speaking tour. I just went to DC although I am gonna be on I am speaking in Victoria. Yeah, so Yeah, um, I have to say something about the conference situation. So two things. Yes I love the idea of people being able to move freely through the world at a conference in particular knowing that Their investment in the conference is going to pay off in part You know lots of reasons, but in part because they were actually going to follow through on those delicious Conversations that one has when they're high on social interaction And thinking about all of the connections and all of the magic you can do and then you get home and you're like uh, I'm tired undehidrated. I don't I have an unpack my suitcase and then all hell breaks loose However, I do want to point out there was a story and it would be a better recap if I knew what conference it was There was one of those bit like one of those like think tank high level you have to apply to get in conferences and

A woman who was kind of punching up a little bit to to get into it. She her she couldn't she wasn't accepted as a speaker She didn't know a lot of the muckity muckity mucks, but she really worked the room. She got to know a lot of people whale Unfortunately, etiquette wise she took those recordings Turned them into things Cleaned them as a little bit too close to her own and got busted and everyone piled on her every all those people who were in those conversations was just like A black mark on her on her reputation is like ah good idea In part of this is a good idea right part of this is is is is lovely You're trying to make the most of these important people's time maybe to follow up with them with an actual relevant email, but then You know you then you veered then you your discernment Well, maybe that was your discernment, but but according to everybody else who's talking shit about you

Sorry, everyone else who's talking about you that was a rough that was a bad call that was a wild decision And so this brings up for us like yet again More examples of what are we doing with our stuff that were that were recording with people yeah 100% all right garrith you joined this is Andy You haven't heard Andy's voice to Andy had a drop, but we knew that at about the Freddie Minimark Poor Andy probably was like I had seven new stories new stories You know what guys this is why we have a daily show because the way I look at it is we didn't get a chance really to talk I think this conversation about aster and like real world use cases is so valuable to her I mean so valuable to me. I can imagine so valuable for our audience And so I do think this has a holds a lot of way but yet is it like your traditional um, you know, what are the five news stories or whatever what do you Brian I'll let the Brian's like garrith I'll let you talk but

And then I meant I'll actually talk when I'm out of air Oh, yeah And I'm ready go um Yeah, so aster is really really good. It's got a lot of cool things have done a lot with it I've played around with it. I've learned a lot from it um, do's and don'ts and stuff like that um I think it's an incredible If you were a visual learner, it's an include like I think the best tool out there for visual learners You can learn anything with it um and visually learn with it um, I'm sure you guys saw the anatomy um, learning thing where I forget what our name is um, really cool um, basically took the human anatomy and you can spread it out into each individual pieces of the male anatomy And then put it back together um, and so that was really cool to see um, especially for visual learners. I've done a lot of things like I did one with um

uh Wow, what this is so dumb that I can't think of this word um It's AI basically how AI systems work. Yeah, that was hard to say um That's why it was so dumb. I knew it was there. I just couldn't get it out um How AI systems systems work. I basically had aster look at that video of the nat human anatomy That she shared and said hey aster make something like this but do it for AI oh And so it did it and it was really good. I would change it a little bit before I would actually like doing Anything with it, but it was still pretty solid Like especially if you're trying to understand how AI works. It was great um, I am actually putting on um, you talk about conferences, but I'm speaking um on the 27th to um To three groups Teachers parents and students with people with dyslexia or just who are dyslexic

Um, and I'm going to use aster as a tool Um to help them understand it and my my point of the speaking is How can we use AI to learn as a learning engine as I always say and not an answer engine because um Everybody doesn't want it gives answers and especially when you're talking to teachers like We're not going to use this as teachers and we live in an organ is At least where I live everybody's very Not too keen on AI um, and so I think my goal is to kind of make people think differently Um, and I'm going to use aster in that um, and so one thing I did learn about aster is and I think Nate Jones kind of hinted at this in one of his videos Before and I basically said Look at all my harness look at all my my instructions And let's clean this up and what's inhibiting you from being better And so basically a audit of my instructions harnesses and everything and I cleaned it up and I did see a much better

um efficiency in my In my token usage um, I couldn't give you exact numbers, but I could tell it was working faster and better and more clear um So I think that was I mean, I think that was I think something that we should all do because And Nate spoke about it and it was basically your instructions are holding it back um, oh and in a sense And so I did find that um, so if you are using aster go I mean check it out I haven't go audit its own like at your instructions your harnesses your plugins Um, sometimes you don't need it. I've seen some pretty incredible video editing out of aster um using higgsfield um Where you cannot tell that Basically, it's entire things AI And basically the guy gave him a short video of himself

And then hooked up to higgsfield and aster and set made a full video like five minute video And the entire thing's AI Him a clone dim and voiced clone just voiced it did all of it And I was shocked because you there's no way I you can't tell that it's all AI the entire things AI and so um Where I think it did a better job of hey gen like a hey gen quality of what it did And so I there's so many different use cases for aster um, I I posted on a list last or I think yeah late last night of like all the things a aster is good at I'm taking two seconds to pull it up just to make sure I didn't miss anything um, and so is it oh that was point it's like they keep we keep coming back to that point of is aster aji Yes, but it's not the aji that's gonna take over your take over the world is not that aji

I think it is very intuitive. I think it's the most intuitive model that we've ever had um, it just knows it it gets it Um, and you don't have to like kind of Guide it as much um like when I did the panda planter Halfway through it asked me if I wanted holes in the bottom for drainage Like I totally wouldn't have thought of that when I prompted it because all I said was make a panda planter and It when did it and then is it hey? Oh do you want holes in the bottom of this? I mean that's in too That's pretty intuitive and pretty smart Um, that it needed to do that But it's not that's not unique to aster though. Let's just point that out. I mean I've done it in a deepniped I've done that before for me and thought around the coin Of things and brought like hey also while we're doing this have you thought it? And I'm like oh uh, no but thank you also I want to follow up though Garrett because you just said something like I feel like me and Beth just Kind of reacted to My question is like you're like yes, it's aji but it's not that aji well hold on a second

It either it is or it isn't No, no, no, no, no, no, just doesn't depend on the definition you out of aji When people think of aji in my world in my point of view they think it's like, AGI is going to like these robots are going to just take over the world and the world's going to crumble. And that's why I said it's not that AGI. It's not going to crush, kill the world because it's that smart and that intuitive. It's AGI as in it's very intuitive, very, it's, it is smarter than general intelligence, the most general, most of intelligence. And so that's what I was kind of saying. I think so, Garrett, I think the the Ethan Mollock Jagged AI probably applies because it's smarter at us than some things, but it's really dumb and other things. So like in computer use, like you just use that, there's some things that I'm like we're just significantly better, but there's some things that it's it's better than me at because of how whatever

the program is and how fast it can run through things, right? So I think it's like and and what I want to say is when you're talking about, you know, in areas that people don't like AI, it ties into that story out in New York where I think the mayor banned AI from grade school, whatever the what grade to what grade. And I'm like, oh, that's an interesting use case more so from um, why he did it in terms of thinking about critical thinking and then somebody else mentioning how in China, it's automatic as soon as like you're in, I think you're six years old, they have training AI training for students. Mm hmm. Back to like that's crazy. The like the two dichotomies of yeah, we want to put this in everyone's hands and get them up as fast we can, good or bad, whatever they'll come versus we want people to have critical thinking first before they start

using this tool. Two very different poses. And I think critical thinking can be done with AI. Like you can have AI that teaches critical thinking and that's my whole point around like make it a learning engine. Like you don't need to just give it to your aunt, don't let it give it your answers, have it walk you through how it got there. And what it's what it's doing and walk you through and and like I say is like let it teach you the way you learn. Don't let it like I think the biggest problem with schools is that I mean with schools at least for me and a lot of people, especially with dyslexics is they teach a certain way that we don't understand and we don't we can't conceptualize or we can't absorb. And so that's where AI can massively help in that where it can talk me through and if I don't get something I don't have to wait for the teacher to try to explain it to me in a

way that they understand it. It will adjust and teach me in a way that I can then understand it. Yeah. I will also say that China also does not allow a companion AI for the children, right? So hear both of those pieces of data. Yeah. And I'm all for AI regulations and minors. I don't think kids should have the ability to have regular use AI. I think it needs to be a very strict AI that again doesn't give answers to the kids. It helps them through things. One of my friends has a company called Boodlebox and he pivoted like a couple of years ago and I was surprised. So he pivoted from a more narrow niche of you know nonprofit fundraising all the way into higher ed writ large. And now Boodlebox is being implemented in bunches of different

universities and the reason why I raise it right now is because the promise is that it creates this closed environment essentially where the faculty member and the students have agreed upon and only use this environment. They've agreed upon the rules in their classroom which as we've seen now a lot of faculty are saying hey class let's sit down let's figure this out together. We're going to decide what we can put in what we can't how we're going to use it. This actually feels like a possible solution where if it is bought into that we're not doing the broad you know chat GPT license for the entire university like all that stuff but rather a knowledge base and a protocol for how it can be used that actually enforces right this is the beauty of the technology

changing our behavior in a positive direction that we are all talking about wanting. So I was super excited to to learn that it's having the traction that it's having again it's called Boodlebox. And I feel like it's the first time that I've had a sense of hopefulness that college kids and AI and faculty and administrators and big tech may be able to work together to potentially actually improve our higher education system improve critical thinking improve that students are going back and doing the homework because I promise promise that the only eight like deliberate like you pick up the phone and you you know put an a put you know press an app kid here's what here's the full extent they take their phone they press chat GPT they ask a

question they get an answer they say it sucks they close it then then then an assignment comes up and they're like okay now shoot I've been hating on AI this whole entire time I've been an objector I love my personal brand of hating AI now however I have to write three speeches overnight so deep up boot let's start using AI for real stuff yeah and so again I think like I love Gareth what you're saying about show up use it with critical thinking but as but while these students are still using it as an enhanced Google yeah and creating personal brands about hating AI we're in a little bit of trouble but I don't know I'm hopeful about Boodlebox and the guy behind it is a stand-up guy so there's that I'm not catching the name of the business what is it again boodle box like boodle like noodle but boodle with a B B O O D L E got or what is it again what is

what is it providing just why not we're giving the shout out let's just boodle box yeah so it allows people to it allows faculty students administrators etc to decide together what the environment is and what the rules of the road are for AI so they don't use chip I mean there's models underneath it but they don't say okay everybody we have a chat GPT license because chat GPT cuts some deal with us right they say nope we have boodle bot box whatever and this is how and it's in a controlled environment that if even if it's not great if everyone can agree on it and live with okay isn't it cool see how we can agree on this that itself I think is a step in the right direction for higher ed in AI yeah yeah definitely all right well listen we're about that time and like I said didn't today's conversation has been good can I can I before you and can I play one thing I just I think this is it captures the new is the de monetization video no no no no it's not

it's not the end it's not the way it is it is okay so I'm gonna set this up remember how we used to Will Smith as the yes yes but I want to show you the new benchmarks the fellow can bring that on screen so this is the new benchmark of Will Smith eating spaghetti but this time aster and blender yeah so where will we be in three years right okay but wow boobs um that was stopping um they're like actual Will Smith eating spaghetti videos outside of blender have actually been of course of course but we're now back to like we're back we have to go back and rebuild again so yeah but your point yeah your point to this is that that is if we're talking about blender we're

talking about that's a fully recreated 3D renderers of Will Smith eating spaghetti and yes it looks ridiculous the hand was upside down and stuff but that but your point is valid car which is if that's today what is three years from now look like what does 2029 look like what's um with that and my guess is we're not even talking about three years on this don't work your texture we're talking about wanting to chew or something like that and it's gonna be able to build near near identical I mean you know somebody was saying earlier actually to Carl in the comments and they said you know you're doing like original toy story that the fly through of the house they're like so you're you're basically you know quote unquote you know messing around effort around on your computer and you're like yeah and you're producing something that would be in level with like early toy story 1995 or whatever but you have zero skills or I never skills zero what's to say though that like you know the the models that'll be able to be rendered both for three printing and all that stuff won't get to a point where it's it's not toy story one

it's toy story five right it's just that smooth the lighting is right you can move the lighting around all the things and yes I have friends and animation in digital ige of major picks are who are obviously concerned about it and I think the last thing I'll say too is it brings it back to what goons comment was about like doesn't this doesn't some of this stuff suck the joy out of doing stuff she was referencing maybe converting some OVHS videos or watching or otherwise I couldn't you just slap a GI and that and get it done and I think the insert that I have at least for this is that it's different for every single person because not all people get joy from all things the same kind of a good joy creating these things I had a lot of joy this weekend creating yeah yeah and so I want to think I think Garrett didn't you bring up the the Lego thing yesterday or yeah so here's my here's my take on the car the Lego thing I'm sorry bath was it you you brought up the Lego thing sorry I brought up the Lego thing yes sir I'm I bad I didn't know no it's I'm also you know I I mentioned she did bring it up and I mentioned I was also building a

Lego yes thing and it's almost finished so it's okay it's an old it's an old joke it's an old beat it is an old joke yeah but but valid it's valid in this case if I got it wrong it's valid before the before you wrap up Brian I just have to tell everybody and I might post it on on LinkedIn later but while we're here I upgraded to pro after you're here I just do what Carl does I upgraded to pro I told a straw go through my stuff these are the these are the areas right this is these are the like look for mp4s look for images look for content all related to uh 2026 create conference it came back it had some stuff I was like no no no no no it offered to remove some stuff can I leave this out I was like I'll leave it in it created a video it's all in the brand colors it's got testimonials it's got all of the speakers all of their sessions all of their everything is 25 seconds long it is a thing of beauty that would take 75 turns with cloud code like literally

probably some of my some of my video projects take 52 52 55 turns so while we were here everybody hey and sisco says wow and he's next he's doing it um stay tuned for the new daily AI show store where we will have bracelets to say wwkd uh for what would Carl do yes and we will just not know we will all just follow those rules that'll be the data today they'll say the daily I show crew on one side and wwkd on the other don't come after me if you're super religious so shouldn't open AI pay us some sort of royalty because we just literally just had one person move up a tier and other people we have another person we should just get some like some sort of like preferred like you know 0.1% of this that's not not bad that's a good that's a good return if you get code yeah yeah I show hey I got a even better deal just give us all the preview stuff where we

get to make stuff with no uh credit right unlimited tokens and we're good limited token at some point this show will reach that level and open an AI will be like give the dust crew they're because they're gonna talk about it on the show now we don't have we don't have the size audience yet to to pull that kind of weight the one day we will one day we'll get there and they'll want us to have effort early access to these models because they know we're gonna build with it and we're going to show it on the show and then they just they won't be able to help themselves but until that day we will keep using our own money uh and uh yeah so look we're we're definitely on time so I'm just gonna wrap it up there I'll talk about the Lego thing tomorrow we're done it's it that's such as they show thanks uh and for hanging out with us today as always on all Tuesdays oh we great to see thanks Garrett for jumping in went Andy left um and to Beth and Carl thank you as always and as of course everybody on our comments because there's lots of comments today which was super super cool so thanks for being part of the conversation that's our Tuesday show we will be back the rest of the week as always so come on back and hang out with us like subscribe do all the things

we appreciate you very much help us grow so we can get to that level where we can get the free stuff so then we can build stuff for you guys there you go so uh see you w a run bye guys
