Owusu-Koramoah's Harvard Journey: A New Chapter

On April 3rd, Cleveland Brown's linebacker, Jeremiah Awusu, Kormoa, just got accepted to

Harvard Kennedy School for a Master's in Public Policy. He applied back in December 2025

and found out while checking his status in New York this past March. Classes start for him in

the fall of 2026. That news hits different after his rough neck injury last October during a

game against the Baltimore Ravens. The hit left him paralyzed on the field for a moment,

sidelineing him for the rest of the 2024 season and all of 2025. He's been grinding through

recovery, seeing over a dozen specialists across the U.S. and even healers in Ghana.

Awusu Kormoa turned that set back into fuel, writing about it in his Harvard essay.

He reflected on life beyond football, drawing from his off-field work mentoring kids and fighting

food insecurity. The Browns have his back too, with owner Jimmy Haslam, GM Andrew Berry,

a Harvard alum, and even Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb, writing recommendation. Letters. Meanwhile,

he's prepping for this next chapter while staying linked with the team, even captaining the

Dodd Pound fans during a game this season. His interests pull from economics, global decisions,

and his Ghanaian roots. He's wrought traditional clothes at games and stuck to a vegan diet to stay.

True to himself. This move shows athletes can chase big dreams without ditching their identity,

and the Browns are leading by supporting his growth on and off the field. As the eyes and

uncertain football return, Harvard opens doors to redefine success on his terms.
