Pacheco Joins Lions on One-Year Deal

Former Kansas City Chiefs running back Isaiah Pacheco has joined the Detroit Lions on

a one-year deal worth $1.81 million, fully, guaranteed.

He shared during his introductory press conference that the Chiefs had offered him a contract

to stay.

Pacheco considered 18s, but decided to move on after Kansas City signed another back.

As signing by the Chiefs opened the door for Pacheco to explore other spots, and Detroit

was his top choice right away.

He inked the deal last Tuesday, aiming to bring his skills to a new team in the NFC North.

Fans and analysts see this as a solid pickup for the Lions, who get a proven runner from

Rutgers University.

Drafted in the seventh round back in 2022, Pacheco quickly became a starter and fan favorite

in Kansas City over his first two full seasons.

His early production stood out with strong rushing numbers and reliable receiving

work out of the backfield.

That helped him earn a bigger role despite some injury challenges in recent games.

Now with Detroit, Pacheco looks to rebound and compete for carries, building on his track

record while the Lions strengthen their backfield depth.
