Pakistan & China's Peace Plan: Cooling Middle East Tensions

On March 31st, Pakistan and China just dropped a joint five-part peace plan for the Middle

East, aiming to cool down the war between the U.S. and Iran.

Pakistan's foreign minister, Eshant Dar, flew to Beijing on Tuesday for a quick meetup

with his counterpart, Wang Yi, pushing for China's backing on, ceasefire talks, and

takes shipping lanes through the strait of Hormuz.

Earlier this week, Pakistan hosted foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt

to brainstorm regional fixes, but without the U.S. or Iran at.

The table, it didn't pack much punch.

Islamabad's been playing middleman, passing messages between President Trump and Iran's

Masood Pzezhekian, while China stays mostly neutral, despite, buying tons of Iranian oil.

Folks in Pakistan are feeling the heat already, with protests killing dozens after the initial

strikes on Tehran, and fears of spillover into there.

100-kilometer border with Iran, especially the shaky Baluchistan region.

As a major Shia hub outside Iran, sectarian sparks could ignite, plus the fuel blockade

slamming their economy hard.

Trump's bragging that, U.S. Iran talks are going great, but Tehran says, no direct chats

are happening, leaving real progress thin.

Analysts point out Pakistan's drive here mixes big diplomatic ambitions with survival

needs, balancing ties to the U.S., Gulf states, and Iran.

With their new Saudi defense deal in play, Pakistan's walking a tightrope, hoping this

push de-escalates before the fire reaches their door.
