About this episode

Exodus 12:21-28 KJV

21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.

22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.

23 For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

24 And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.

25 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.

26 And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?

27 That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

28 And the children of Israel went away, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

Amen, glory to God. Welcome to program. Welcome to cafe pastor Clark Covington here with another episode of KJV cafe as always It is a blessed day at the cafe getting to the bottom of my cup Which is a very Yepi old person cup of coffee with oat milk and Decaf but the oat milk is good and the decaf is good too. I can't complain. I got too much look you get kids Man, you know how it is if you got kids you can't have too much caffeine because you know kids Oh man As cool as a cucumber, you know, and I had a friend once said wait till you have kids You'll be all wound up. I'm like no way no way no way. Yep. He was right. He was right. That's why yeah I just wow. I love him to death, but they they they have definitely limited my caffeine consumption I had to go cold turkey when I we had the second one. I think I said no. I gotta think I gotta take six months off All right, that's neither here nor there Let's get to the program a men a little introduction for those that are new to the program It's not about coffee or kids. It's about the Bible a men We're simply a daily Bible study going through

Genesis to Revelation in the scriptures. We started as a radio ministry on radio stations in the southeast in Tennessee North Carolina South Carolina Man, maybe one in Georgia there are Florida throughout the southeast for the most part we were On the radio for some years. I don't know maybe two three years something like that 2019 through 2022 something like that and it got very very very expensive if you've ever Been involved with the radio ministry you realize you got to pay for that time You know even though you're teaching you're not like asking we didn't ask for anything really and You got to pay for that time so it's very expensive and so I was praying to the Lord What to do and he led me to podcasting and multimedia stuff Like YouTube and all the rest and so we've been doing that really the whole time we were doing it during the radio ministry But certainly afterwards so that's how we got our start were non-denominational not affiliated with any church We've a fundamental fundamental perspective on the Bible and at the same time of the radio ministry

I was called to plant a church which now Really is no more we just meet as a family we were very small to begin with but we just meet as a family and I just do what I believe the Lord's called me to do which is this what we'll call the record ministry full time So don't have a denomination don't have any kind of agenda. We never ask for anything from anybody We just want to give you God's word As I believe the Lord would have us to look at it which is in depth verse by verse brings us to Exodus 12 21 through 28 I'm gonna start here at verse 23 because we've spent the last two episodes on 21 and 22 My math isn't great but we gotta get through a few verses here to get through this passage So let's get to it for the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians and when he see it the blood upon the lintel And on the two side posts the Lord will pass over the door and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your Houses to smite you and you shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons forever

All right, well what this is getting at here is very obviously plain it is This horizontal support beam the lintel okay would be like above your door, right? So you think of kind of like A square without a bottom right or a rectangle without a bottom you got the lintel You got the door posts. That's where the blood was and you are not to go outside at that time stay in for that night And God's going to do his business is gonna handle everything for you So this right here There's a lot to it because Jesus is called the door He is the door There is no other way to God but through Jesus Christ Amen, so you have that and then you also have this gateway kind of idea of the old and the new right and you have this Death angel because God has the power to bring life and death so much here for time sake we got to keep going First 24 you shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons forever This is something that should be observed forever. That's why at the time of year

Which is around our Easter for Christians March or April you have this Passover every year and you'll have it every year and I believe it'll be going on in heaven That's what God uses the word forever because for those in heaven You still have the 12 tribes you still have the the Jewish structure right the the structure of What we have the basis for the 12 tribes of Israel they've got 12 gates in heaven the disciples say hey What's our reward for for seeking all and following you Jesus? He says to rule over the 12 tribes in heaven you still have a structure in heaven Familiar to us enough to understand the Passover will still take place But instead of celebrating just deliverance from bondage and slavery for this people group God's chosen people that's part of it But we are celebrating by and at large being bloodbought having our sins forgiven by the perfect Silas spotless lamb who by the way went to the cross willingly and obediently to

Help people that were against him right the Bible says while we were yet sinners Christ died for us He went to go do a service to those that couldn't stand him now I don't know about you, but to the people that can't stand me it's hard for me to do them a service I have to take like six or seven breasts. I you know, I've told the story like there's times my wife will have to say that Remember your preacher act like it you know Man she's she'll she'll call me out, you know if she sees me getting a little wound up about something Okay, so for me if someone hates me it'd be hard for me to do them any service Nonetheless give my life for them, but that's what Jesus Christ did for all those that would believe see on our end We have to have faith think of the Passover account Think of what Moses is telling the elders to presumably tell the rest of the the Israelites there You got to believe this is gonna happen if you didn't believe you wouldn't put the blood on the doorpost or you wouldn't do it With the bunch of hiss up as you were supposed to or you wouldn't put it on the lentil or you wouldn't a stay in at night

You would break these things and you would therefore be caught up in the death of the firstborn and you wouldn't be delivered Right deliverance came to those that what that had faith Let's take a break. We'll get to much more we get back. Stay tuned It's break time here at the cafe as always. Thank you for listening I'm so blessed that you're here with me today as we study God's word together I pray that this program helps you and richly blesses you to learn more about us at kjv cafe.com You have kids we have a kids ministry kids kjv.com. All right back to the program You know when you think about it Faith is so important because I grew up in a place and maybe you have a similar experience where there were a lot of people that were not of faith Now I currently live in the buckle of the Bible belt where there's a lot of people that are of some measure of faith Right and I've told stories like crazy stories, you know about people that could preach to you, you know, lay people that know the Bible better than many preachers, you know

like just just crazy You know church on every corner. It's not if you go to churches where you go to church and just a cultural Area here is very different in that sense in a good way. I thank God that I'm here And by the way for whatever reason in this area Which is like the Charlotte slash Greenville Spartanburg. That's kind of like we live in between this area is Very rich with ministries one of the richest area areas for ministries in the world Bible broadcasting network is based out of here Billy Graham Samaritan's purse is based out of here Many other ones, you know I'm never surprised when you hear a ministry and you read about the ministry some of them weren't even born here or developed here But they end up moving here because it's just a good place for that again upstate of South Carolina and this Western part of North Carolina But being in an area where there were not a lot of believers growing up. I saw firsthand The consequences of unbelief and they are very grave. I mean if you have unbelief if you look at the Bible and and joke around about it

you are In In dire dire dire trouble You know, it's like you're jumping out of plane without a parachute and you don't even know it, you know You think you're having a great time and it's so funny because people Well often that are that are unbelievers not always but often They have these like kind of countering feelings one Incessantly wanting to mock it like a joke the faith but then on the other end hating it deeply and I remember talking to an unbeliever one time and just very plainly I asked what what in you makes you feel so angry towards the believer like What is it? You know what in you makes you so furious, you know? If they think about it, this is a spiritual battle. It's where the Bible says we don't fight against flesh and blood I've seen people used by the devil and I pray for those people I feel bad for those people I don't look at those people as my enemy. They are a human

Relative of mine. They are also a son or daughter of Adam so to speak But if they don't know the last Adam and if they're from the first Adam But don't know the last Adam if they've never been saved and they've never been born again We got a problem man because there is no other way to be saved When you read the Passover account God is saying let me spell this out to you really early I have a way and my way is perfect and my way brings deliverance. This is God's way But my way requires faith the Israelite wasn't like chained inside God didn't take a wind and blow them inside and say now you stay there Even with Noah the Ark when God sealed Noah in the Ark Which is another example or type of this type of deliverance Noah spent a hundred years or so a Century building a boat bigger than most cruise ships A hundred years he did God force him to do that Club him over the head and say you have to do that was the culture interested in him doing that was he mocked and ridiculed and all the rest

He by faith did it God calls Abraham to leave his dad that was very odd when he was to leave his family in Hurrah and that was very unusual you don't do that And in Asian culture families are like hyper close my wife is Asian so I can say that and I see how close they are and there's an Expectation where the parents pretty much kill themselves for the child and when the child grows up the expectation is the child's going to go ahead Repay the parent for what they did it is like it's almost sub Psychology like subconscious or something like that. It's very deep And Abraham just leaves Like that was a big deal Why because he had faith that God called him to go to Canaan he goes to Canaan and there's a famine He could have said I'm going back to her in and going back in the Bible's always a bad thing And he doesn't Okay, yes, he goes to Egypt and gets some trouble there with Pharaoh and so forth because of his of his wife But at the end of the day he's faithful and he ends up in Canaan God says I'm gonna give it all to you

Because you've had faith when we look at the idea of faith in the Bible There are these like two I two like factors happening over and over again one factor is God takes care of it The other factor is you got to believe so the factor God takes care of it. That's Jesus in the cross the other factor You got to believe the factor God takes care of it. That's like sanctification, you know a cleansing of the sin, right? Remission remission of sin repenting of sin, right? Turning from sin, but you got to believe enough to do it There are many people that have a head knowledge they know the Bible maybe better than than I do or that you do But they don't have the heart knowledge pride is gotten in the way the world has gotten in the way Maybe the taboo things one of my theories of why so many kids that are raised If you ever teach children's church you see this sadly so often Like 99% of them end up in the world not in church I said what happened, you know, was it the teaching? What happened? Do we not give out enough candy, you know?

Which don't get me started on that, you know, but 99 times out of a hundred they're somewhere far off and you say to yourself is it because the world was so taboo like it The world was just so enticing, you know because they were taught it was so bad I don't know what it is But you have many people that don't fear God and don't have a faith in him therefore they live for themselves The Bible said they live for their bellies they live for the lust of the flesh They live for their senses what they can smell and see and touch Right isn't that when we always get in trouble is what our senses entice us? You know, you see someone arrested for something horrible and you kind of trace it back and there was some kind of Instant gratification they were chasing whether they're robin a bank or whether they were kidnapping a person or whether they were Punching a person or whether they were You know, whatever scamming people there's always this like sensual thing that they're looking for something to satisfy Their lusts which could be greed and it could be all other kinds of things

But what's in all of those things is a rank unbelief in God because if you believe in him truly You'll read his word you'll go to him you'll pray as you read his word as you go to him and you pray You realize his holiness his power God is terrifying like with a capital T terrifying If God were in front of you you dropped it if God were in front of me I dropped it God is absolutely terrifying It's a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living Lord the Bible says to paraphrase when you see God Okay in the Bible and you see his absolute power his absolute majesty his absolute perfection By faith you have to get to the point and say I need him I need to be saved I need forgiveness of sin and now once I'm saved I need to live for him not like I'm gonna be flawless or some Super Christian or anything but I'm just every day gonna walk with him every day I'm gonna pray to him every day. I'm gonna go to his word and And as you go about this exercise of faith

God rewards you God replenishes you God renews you God gives you discernment because you haven't grieved his Holy Spirit that you received when you're saved But you've enriched the spirit What a beautiful thing and we'll have to go to a part four We're going to part four the next episode to make sure we cover all these scriptures So tune in then thank you for listening take care God bless amen. Thanks for listening to KJV cafe And we'll see you at the cafe tomorrow So
