PENGUINS POSITIONAL PREVIEWS: Goaltending is a BIG strength in Pittsburgh!

With training camp just about a week away, it’s time to take a look at the players who will be vying for spots on the 2026-27 Pittsburgh Penguins! Hunter and Patrick begin the Monday edition of Locked On Penguins by breaking down all of the goaltenders in the system, and they start with the NHL guys. (1:30) With Sergei Murashov expected to make the team and begin his NHL journey, he’ll be competing with Arturs Silovs, who signed a one-year prove-it deal. Who will take the reins this year? Then, they pop down to Wilkes-Barre to talk about two goalies who might not be getting enough attention: Taylor Gauthier and Joel Blomqvist. (13:45) While Murashov stole the headlines last year, Blomqvist put together a quietly solid campaign. Behind him is Gauthier, who has consistently been one of the better ECHL goalies. Finally, the Everblades’ partnership with the Penguins begins this year, and in net, a veteran legend in Cam Johnson will mentor the next guy, Gabriel D’Aigle. (22:20)
