AM640, Bill Handle on a Friday, March 20th.
The Foodie Friday asked Kendall anything Friday that's the last hour of our show starting
at a clock and it's always a great deal of fun.
Trending, Iran is threatening now to target recreational and tourist sites worldwide
and says it's still building missiles, which I'm going to talk about in just a moment.
In the meantime, yesterday it was revealed the Pentagon has asked for $200 billion in
additional funding for the war in Iran.
And the way it works is the request goes to the White House through the military.
And then the White House proposes it to Congress because there is no way that the president
can spend anywhere near that much money arbitrarily.
Now he can start a war arbitrarily.
It seems the president has been got given more and more power by the day and this has been
going on forever.
Democratic party does the same thing when a Democrat is in charge.
Do you know that the founding fathers did not want a strong president?
They wanted the Congress to be strong because the people of the United States, Americans
should govern.
And frankly, the president not chosen by the people, particularly because his electoral
college should not have the kind of power.
And then over the decades, over the centuries, the president has garnered more and more
power.
And now to the point where the president has immense power.
For example, starting a war like this and or attacking Venezuela.
And so at $200 billion, there's no way on God's earth he is going to be able to fight
this war.
The first week, $11 billion, $200 billion is almost a quarter of the entire budget of
the military for the fiscal year.
Yeah, that's big stuff.
So defense secretary in defending, asking for $200 billion said, obviously, it takes money
to kill the bad guys.
Now even some moderate Republicans are going hold on a minute.
I mean, the Democrats are against it no matter what because the president is a Republican
because it's gotten that crazy in terms of polarization.
But even some moderate Democrats are going to wait a minute.
That is a whole lot of money.
And look at where this war is going.
Even though the president says we won it the first day, it's going to be soon that we are
going to win this war.
Effectively, we've already won the war.
Well, we're nearly three weeks into the war.
And for somehow Iran is still able to launch its drones and missiles and cause just unbelievable
havoc.
And as a matter of fact, it just said, as I announced that it's going to target recreational
and tourist sites around the world, read the mid east.
So it's at war and the mid east countries are not jumped in yet.
They're still in a defensive posture and they're trying to put a quirk in this as much as
they can.
And I think that Iran keeps on going, it's going to be the world against Iran and Iran
doesn't care.
Iran's a pariah nation.
Iran is not part of the world community is not interested.
Iran is interested.
Number one, destroying Israel.
That's really important.
Doing as much harm to the United States as possible, hates democracy.
We are all infidels because Islam and Muhammad wants the world to be Muslim as far as the
way the Iranians view Islam.
Because even the enemies or even Saudi Arabia, for example, that looks at Islam or has a
different view, the different belief system, still Muslim, but a different view of it,
they are enemies and they must be attacked.
And when we're talking about Iran, also it is the world leader in supplying arms and
training and support for terrorist groups all over the world.
And so in terms of the war, I know a lot of people are against the war and there's a lot
of talk about imminent threat and it wasn't imminent threat.
But you know, let's take a look at Iran.
How many thousands of missiles and drones do they have?
Not one of them being defensive, all of them being offensive.
And it's one of those is if it's not imminent right now, when, when do we stop Iran?
When the threat is there and they can do, well, as Netanyahu said yesterday, can you imagine
Iran having a nuclear weapon and what they would do with it?
And even the smallest chance and they are enriching uranium.
We know that and enriching uranium, the only purpose in rich in uranium to that point
that Iran is there and the United States and other countries certainly are is for the
purposes of nuclear weapons.
Iran claims this is for peaceful, peaceful purposes.
You need 3% enrichment of uranium for peaceful purposes.
Weapons grade is 90% Iran is already at 60 or 70% from what we're told.
You think that's for defense?
So $200 billion, I'd give it, I'd give it, I'm not a big fan of the president,
but on this one, I completely believe that Iran is that much of a threat to the world.
And the world is just letting it happen. 1938, World War II Hitler.
We'll just let it happen.
It's, it's going to be peace.
We believe him when he said he's not interested in starting a war and only wanted
the Czechoslovakians who date in the land.
Okay, here you go.
Oh, and then weeks later, he attacks.
All right, coming up, the extreme heat.
We're experiencing it right now and there are some issues involved.
People dying, as you can imagine, and I'm going to talk a little bit about policy.
KFI AM640, Bill Handel here on a Friday morning March 20th.
News that just broke is that president Gustavo Petro of Colombia, who has said many negative things
about President Trump is now under criminal investigation by at least two U.S. federal prosecutors
office. And these investigations have to do with international narcotics trafficking.
It's much like Maduro.
Now, keep in mind that this president Petro Gustavo Petro has been a critic of President Trump.
And it's no surprise that now a criminal investigation has been opened up by the U.S.
At the same time, former president Bolsonaro of Brazil, who is in prison right now for corruption.
President Trump has put a 50% tariff on Brazil unless Bolsonaro is released.
Why? Because Bolsonaro is an avowed fan and an ally of President Trump. Man, it just doesn't stop.
Does it? It's so blatant. It's crazy. Can you imagine any other president doing this and
getting away with it? Can you imagine? Okay, it's hot now. And obviously it's hot. And there's
extreme heat here in California, as you know, and the vulnerable are very vulnerable. Who are
vulnerable? Well, elderly people. And it's so hot that people who don't have air conditioning and
work outside, for example, it's very dangerous. So you would think that governments, city, state,
county, California, this would have plans in place to deal with the heat and helping with people
who are particularly vulnerable, a quick one. Do you know that? There is no law that says air
conditioning has to be supplied to renters. And there are people that do not have air conditioning.
You think they're in trouble? And so the various agencies don't talk to each other.
And there are a lot of people that are saying, hey, this is one of those issues at heat,
this kind of heat. And it's going to go on because climate change is here. And as we've known,
the rains are going to get rainier. And drought is going to be much droughtier. And we're
going to get more heat during the heat spells. And they're going to go longer. And the drought is
going to be more brutal at the same time, the flooding in the Midwest, the snow in the east,
as we've seen for the entire winter, how brutal it has been. You would think that the governments
would look at this mainly like as they do natural disasters, where you have earthquakes or floods,
where everybody gets together. The organizations do get together. There is a plan in place.
FEMA goes out to a flood zone, for example, and coordinates with the other agencies.
And there is a lead agency. It doesn't exist with the heat.
The heat is viewed as just a long-term issue. Well, guess what? It is no longer a long-term issue.
It has to be dealt with right now. People are going to die. It's that simple.
There are, remember a few years ago in Chicago during one of these brutal heat spells,
there were half a dozen people that died. Elderly people, a couple of them that were,
obviously, didn't have cognitive skills, thought that it was cold and they wore sweaters, and they
all died, simply because they didn't know what was going on. And so we're talking about cooling
centers, malls, where people can do, where elderly people, big tentative areas that are air-conditioned,
authorities going out and finding these people, the way they do during major fires,
the way they do during major catastrophes, and it just is not happening. And where the money is
being spent, it's on messaging, education campaign, collecting data, and tools to assess the
hazard of heat. Even the grants to local communities, it's about education, effectively saying,
heat is bad. Heat is hot, and it can be very dangerous. That's where the money is going.
Okay, enough of that. The heat ends today, doesn't it Amy? It's really bad today.
It's going to be another scorcher today, and then it does cool down five to ten degrees tomorrow,
and then another probably five degrees on Sunday, so it's still going to be hot, but not scorching.
So it's going to be hot, but not a shfitz. Not a shfitz. Not a shfitz. It's a dry heat.
Hey, handle. I have a quick correction for you during the Xelman spot. You said
KFI was the code. It's actually KFI 20. Oh, I didn't know that. You get the 20% off. Oh, really?
It's KFI 20. That's news to me. KFI 20. Okay. Okay. I did not know that. KFI 20. All right.
To me, what is it? It's KFI 20. Okay. And who just died? Chuck Norris just died. Yeah, he did.
It just came down. He's dead at 86. You know, when he was born, he drove his mom home from the hospital.
Do you know Chuck Norris doesn't flush the toilet? He scares the crap out of it.
I heard he could kill two stones with one bird. Absolutely. Chuck Norris. Very strong. You know,
like that. Norris didn't do pushups. He actually pushed the earth down. Do you know,
there are a lot of Chuck Norris jokes out there, not one of which I know. So thank God for
him. Yes. Chuck Norris completely dead. I have been exchanging them. Yeah. He actually built
the hospital he was born in. Yep. With his bare hands. Do you know that Chuck Norris counted
to infinity twice? Okay. Do you think we can move on or do we spend the rest of the show doing
Chuck Norris jokes? I won't move on until Chuck Norris himself tells me it's okay.
Yeah. Until he dies. God bless. He just did. Okay. What is immorality? What do Americans think
is immoral? And there's some surprises here. And then no surprises. And I'll share that with you
as I listen to more of these ridiculous Chuck Norris jokes during the break.

KFI AM640 bill handle here.
Good morning.
It is a foodie Friday.
Ask handle anything Friday.
A lot going on.
Just been news just broke.
Chuck Norris is dead at the age of 86.
And he went down fighting.
It's a wonderful phrase.
In his case it may be absolutely true.
Gas still going up and the price of oil still going up.
Big time of the war in Iran.
Still expanding.
Iran now threatened to target recreational and tourist sites worldwide.
And it turns out that still we have the countries in the mid east still all taking a defensive
posture.
No one has joined the war yet, fighting Iran.
Okay.
Did you know that that death?
How to near Chuck Norris experience once?
Okay.
We're going to do that again for the rest of the show.
No, but I get one.
I don't want to see.
Please, let's keep on going.
Can wrote and said that he went to Birmingham high with you.
And then at one point Chuck Norris did an exhibition there.
Do you remember not only do I not remember Ken?
I don't remember going to high school at Birmingham.
I was so stone at the time, but that was my marijuana days.
That wasn't my cocaine days.
Okay, there is a survey that just came out.
Survey says it's an interesting survey.
It was a Pew Research Center survey.
I do this every once in a while.
And it has to do with what do Americans consider immoral this time around?
And yeah, now they didn't ask questions about
stealing or robbing banks or killing people.
That's sort of a given.
But a little bit nuanced, more nuanced.
For example, 75% express no moral objection to spanking children.
That is something that I have a problem with spanking children.
Now drop kicking them is a different issue completely.
And this is one of the reasons why my girls are so screwed up.
63%.
No moral problem with patients choosing to commit suicide with help of a doctor.
And then there are a couple where I sort of see that one.
But the problem I have is how Americans, particularly conservatives,
evangelicals have decided that they are going to make decisions for
other people. We will not let you insert name of whatever activity.
For example, 60% have no moral qualms about homosexuality.
Does that mean 40% do?
Really?
Boy, that really offends you.
I know God doesn't like homosexuals, right?
Yeah, sure.
Well, here's one that is I found interesting.
In 9 and 10 US adults, this goes way beyond sex.
Because there's an entire issue about pornography, for example.
That's sort of evenly split.
Now, I happen to think there's no problem with pornography.
I really don't.
I mean, if you want to have sex with a kangaroo using a ball chain while you're married,
I don't care.
Has to be an adult consenting kangaroo, by the way, that's important.
9 and 10 US adults say that married people having an affair is morally wrong.
About half of you as a US adult saying, viewing pornography is morally wrong.
So they're not going to go to the films that I went to.
Subway slut, Debbie does the East Coast.
Can't do that.
Half the people say, oh, you shouldn't do that, Bill.
The abortion one is, that's different.
47% of Americans say having an abortion is morally wrong.
But half say abortion is not a moral issue.
Okay, and some say it's morally acceptable.
There's two, two different views of that.
The abortion issue, I give a lot of credence to those that are anti-abortion,
even though I am pro-choice and have been.
And that is their position is that abortion is murder.
That is a legitimate position.
You are killing.
There is no question.
Then the issue is, are you killing a person?
And therein lies a scientific discussion.
Is an embryo a person?
Well, it's the beginning of life.
An embryo is a person.
Then is it when it attaches to the uterine wall?
Is it when it divides?
Is it at what point it divides?
Does it divide?
It doesn't finish dividing for days.
It starts dividing.
Is it when the division happens?
I mean, that's not easily determined.
And the people that are pro-choice, that's an easy one.
We don't care.
You know, we don't believe that a baby is there.
Actually, a lot of people don't believe that there's a human being there until the baby is born.
You know, even the law, the law itself recognizes when a baby is a baby
at different stages of pregnancy.
For example, murder.
Right?
If a woman is in her third trimester and someone kills that woman,
that's two counts of murder if the baby dies.
How can that be if there's no consensus?
Because under the law, there's plenty of non-consensus under the law.
For purposes of inheritance, for example,
there is nobody to inherit until the baby is born and starts breathing.
That's when it becomes a human being for purposes of inheritance.
Not while it's being born.
For purposes of abortion, there is no human being there in the first trimester.
And the second trimester, it's under certain circumstances.
In the third trimester, it's an exception to perform an abortion.
So it's different rules and different points of a pregnancy.
You know when Chuck Norris was born, he slapped the doctor.
Yeah, okay.
So how's this one?
When you were born, you're so ugly.
The doctor slapped your mother.
Your poor mom.
All right, we're done with that.
We're done.
Here's a question.
And I don't understand the answer here.
What's wrong with the IRS?
And the way this country deals with the IRS,
the way the government deals with the IRS,
is to me insanity.
And I'll share that with you coming back.
And then we'll do foodie Friday and at the bottom of the hour,
ask candle anything.

Chuck Norris is completely dead.
We got that news just a few minutes ago.
Also the war in Iran expanding drastically.
Iran now threatened to target recreational and tourist sites.
Worldwide, really around the Gulf.
And as the attacks from Iran are going on and on,
the Gulf state so far, still in a defensive mode,
even as their infrastructure is being blown to hell.
It's very strange.
Gas is up again.
The price of oil is up again.
There's a lot going on.
Now there's a question I have.
And this was out of the Atlantic.
And the question is,
and I've been asking this question forever,
what's going on with the IRS?
Here's what's really weird.
Is you would think the IRS would get all the money it needs.
It turns out that for every dollar
that is spent on the IRS, it collects $12.
That is the engine that generates the money in this country,
that the United States uses.
It is the oil.
It is the gasoline that gives it its ability to move this country.
And it's this administration,
other administrations, particularly this one,
cutting the IRS staffers like crazy.
How about this?
Cutting 20% of employees of the IRS since 2024.
And a couple of reasons.
First of all, the number of undocumented folks who pay taxes is very, very high.
Why?
Because the IRS is telling and has told people,
listen, we don't care what your status is, pay your taxes.
And huge number do.
And we're not going to share your information
with the border patrol people or ICE.
That's a firewall because we want our money.
Well, that's changed.
Now you've got most undocumented wouldn't dream of filing taxes
and giving the government any information about themselves,
knowing that that's going to be shared.
Taxed all those tax dollars are gone.
And look at the deficits we have.
They're astronomical.
There's a couple of fun facts.
President Trump suing the IRS personally
from his handling his information.
His returns were leaked during his first term.
And he's asking for $10 billion in damages.
Now it's his administration that is going to negotiate with him
about the money that the administration is going to pay him.
So he is both the plaintiff and the defendant simultaneously.
And someone in his administration is going to say,
yes, no, we're negotiated.
And I wonder how much negotiation is going on.
Also, the head of the IRS, they've gone through
the heads of the IRS since this administration started.
They're going through them like I changed my underwear
about once a week.
And at this point, what, you know,
don't give me those looks.
Okay.
This is, I make points here.
This is, you know, I try analogies.
I try visuals because this is great.
You're a word artist.
Thank you.
Thank you pictures, sir.
Yes.
And so it is something that I just don't get
when you're dealing with these kinds of deficits.
And the government is there.
The IRS is there to collect the money,
which is the lifeblood.
The mother's milk of how we operate.
And now we're going to cut.
We're going to cut agents.
We're going to cut audits.
We're going to cut the ability to collect
because they figure the IRS, even the IRS,
the overview of the IRS.
