I think for the moment, one of the shocking things about the whole Scott Mills sacking,
and you know everyone's trying to piece things together and you know if no information
is given then obviously speculation and gossip will become rife, it's obvious, people want
to know people closest to Scott Mills want to know what's going on, all kinds of people
want to know what's going on, you know it's not that we want sort of gossip or you know
we just just give us the information straight, you know what's going on with the police,
what have they uncovered which we didn't know about before, what did the BBC know, it's
the usual thing isn't it, it's who knew what went and have the police got new information,
have they passed it on to the BBC, what's this about the BBC being in contact with the
person who made the complaint, since when do you get sacked, because someone made a complaint
to your HR department, is that how it works, someone makes a complaint and you just get sacked,
the police are finished, they found nothing or they found something, gave it to the CPS which
is their job and the CPS said no we're not going to take this case any further, there's
you know there's it's just not there's not enough information here or evidence or whatever
and then the person who made the complaint then goes to your employer and okay the police couldn't
couldn't sack you but your employer can and that's what happened, it's remarkable and the BBC
are giving literally no information out at all except things like you know the usual or we're
all very shocked and blah blah blah but the BBC did not issue a company wide press release,
they've just shared the news with radio staff, people working for the BBC outside of the radio
service have read about all of this on news websites like the Sun, like Sky, like maybe the BBC's
news website but not actually they haven't been told anything, it's really weird, really weird,
we just do not know anything, so Sky News says the DJ was abruptly taken off last week after
saying to his listeners see you tomorrow, he was investigated over allegations of serious
sexual offenses, so yeah so it's obviously serious, you can't you know let's just take it as a
given that all allegations of sexual whatever are serious, can we begin with that point?
But why has the BBC done this to minimize reputational damage, is that really what they've
done here or is there something more going on? The police say they launched an investigation in
December 2016, it's it's possible as as the news was coming in on this channel we may have
mentioned something about it being last December, it wasn't it was December 2016, so a factual
error there, but this was a referral from another police force relating to the allegations and
the allegations are said to have taken place between 1997 and 2000, a man in his 40s at the time
was questioned by police but as far as we know nothing new has come from the police, so what's going on?
it really is one of the one of the weirdest things, but there you have it, so as they say in other
news what about some weird facts, do you want some weird facts? I have a few here, oh I also have
some hacks as well, how about a hack, if you drink a full glass of water first thing when
you wake up, it rehydrates you after sleep, kickstarting your metabolism without any extra effort,
give it a go, use the one touch rule for email and messages read it once, reply, delete or
schedule, never touch the same thing twice, that's a good one, and keep a done list instead of only
a to-do list at the end of the day, write down what you actually did, what you finished, it feels
way more satisfying and reduces the I got nothing done feeling, which of these ones are you going
to try, letters know which one works best for you, rapid fire tips done, small changes,
real results.
